Alexander Foster opened his eyes, meeting her sleepy gaze.

"Had enough sleep?" His voice was slightly hoarse.

"I want to lie down a bit longer." Chloe Collins nuzzled his face, closing her eyes in satisfaction.

Warm and very comfortable.

The man bent down for a kiss, the corners of his raised lips displaying his endless affection for her.

Thirty minutes later, they both got out of bed.

It was Chloe’s first attempt at brushing her teeth over a man’s back because her slippers had been taken away by Victor. Alex wouldn’t let her walk barefoot on the floor, so he carried her to the bathroom.

Standing on Alex’s feet, she slowly began to brush her teeth, absent-mindedly letting foam drip onto his thumb, and said, "Uh-oh."

The slight sound was a bit silly and adorable.

Probably, he was the only one in the world who could see this side of her.

The man held back his laughter, pretending to be stern, "Brush properly."

The froth on Alex’s thumb thickened.

Alex was a clean freak, and Chloe couldn’t help but laugh at his expression, almost losing her balance as she doubled over in laughter.

Alex, holding Chloe tight, couldn’t help but laugh along.

A comfortable day began with a morning full of laughter.

After breakfast, Alex dropped Chloe off at the main entrance of Capitol University before heading to work. On his way, he made another phone call to Master.

Robert Foster was still detained by Master, and despite his mother’s attempts to watch over him, her presence didn’t help.

Master picked up the phone, but intentionally hung up after Alex spoke. This had happened a few times already.

He pinched his brows, deciding to push Robert’s issue aside and deal with the more important matters at hand.

Since his calls weren’t getting through, he had no choice but to send a voice message.

"Grandfather, I’ll marry her very soon. Whether you agree or not, I’ve already made up my mind. As long as she’s willing, no one can stop me."

He received a response to his voice message while he had just reached a traffic light and quickly glanced at it.

Master responded with several emoticons, all of them depicting a character weeping while pounding the ground.

Alex replied, "Thank you for your blessings, grandfather."

Finally, Master replied with a voice message, sounding a little irritable, "I disapprove!"

Alex chose to ignore it.

He exited the conversation and sent a message to Charles Carrington.

"I need a favor."

Charles sent back a question mark.

Alex: "I’m planning to propose. Do you have any ideas?"

Charles Carrington was in a somewhat awkward situation, sleeping with a pillow on his own couch in the middle of winter. There was only a thin blanket covering him. He was curled up, sleeping, with nothing else to do because his bedroom had been occupied by a certain woman.

He had been feeling incredibly sleepy due to a restless night, but the moment he heard those words, he immediately sat up on the couch to connect a call.

The phone was quickly picked up.

"Alex, you’re not sleep talking, are you? You’re really getting married?"

"Yes." Alex’s voice was deep and calm, attesting to his fully awake state.

Charles Carrington ran a hand through his hair, stunned for a moment, mumbling, "No way, with who?"

"Who do you think?" Alex’s tone made it sound like he was calling him an idiot.

"Oh, it’s Chloe Collins, yes, it’s her. She... does she know about this?" Charles Carrington still seemed bewildered.

Alex: "What do you think?"

"Oh, she probably doesn’t know. Proposals are usually a surprise."

Alex: "What did you do last night? Where’s your brain?"

Charles Carrington coughed twice, guiltily replying, "I didn’t do anything."

"Right, why did you suddenly think about this? Your grandfather still hasn’t agreed. Based on what I know about Chloe Collins, she might not want to get married so soon. You have to be observant, gauging her readiness for marriage. Only when the timing is right, will the proposal make sense."
