Chapter 1341: Chapter 1341: You Carry Me, I Carry You_1
Chapter 1341
Ten minutes later, the house quieted down.
Milton White opened his eyes, switched on the bedside lamp, and found himself in a guest room of Chloe Collins’s house.
It was silent outside, no one around.
He walked to the balcony, looking at the fork in the road not far away. The girl was leaning against the man’s waist, their intimacy evident.
He emitted a self-deprecating sneer, a trace of sorrow flashing in his eyes. He looked away, at the repeated red marks on his wrists, left by handcuffs.
"If I can’t have it, then destroy it."
In the darkness, a mysterious voice echoed in his ear.
His eyes suddenly turned cold, he turned back into the room, left a message of departure, then walked out of the house.
-
Alexander Foster could hold his liquor, but he had just drunk quite a lot of her concoction and was now in a drowsy state.
His house was located on higher ground, and it took more than twenty steps to climb up. It was a bit time-consuming to help him get there.
Chloe Collins paused, glancing left and right. Seeing no one around, she then bent over to carry the man.
The next second, with a light tap on the stair with her toes, she leaped past five steps, and then in two or three jumps, they were at the top.
When they landed, they made a light sound. It was as though they were shooting a fighting scene using wire-work. After the last drug trial, not only had her hearing and smell improved drastically, but her jumping ability and strength had also increased significantly. This she had only recently discovered.
The cold breeze sobered Alexander Foster a bit, and he could vaguely figure out what had just happened.
He pinched his brow, apologizing, "Sorry, I drank too much."
Chloe Collins noticed his condition improved a lot. She automatically released her hold on his waist and teased, "It seems you’re sober now."
A smile emerged on his lips. His warm palm stroked her cheek as he gently said, "I can’t always have you take care of me."
"Why?"
"I’m a man. My woman shouldn’t need to worry about me."
Chloe Collins raised an eyebrow, "That kind of thinking won’t do, there should be equality between men and women. You can’t let yourself have all the weight and keep me tucked under your wing. Believe it or not, I can also be there for you, protecting you."
As she spoke, she made gestures for "big" and "small", the sincerity on her face made her look as innocent and adorable as a thirteen-year-old child.
Alexander Foster lowered his head and chuckled. His handsome face seemed to glow with an intoxicating light, his smile radiant. "That’s a lot of reasoning."
He began leaning towards her, his clear and refined face drawing closer to hers, slowly saying: "So, Miss ’Gender Equality’, you carried me just now, isn’t it time for me to carry you?"
His eyes sparkled with amusement.
Perhaps her heart melted at his smile, Chloe Collins nodded blankly.
As she wrapped her arms around his neck, her cheek pressed against his warm back, she suddenly felt a surge of happiness.
It was a feeling of simple, warm contentment that filled her entire heart, enabling her to forget about all troubles and darkness.
The distance from the doorway to the inside was short, a child could run it in less than fifteen seconds, but he carried her for three minutes before reaching it.
"The password is your birthday." He stopped in front of the door and intentionally lowered her a bit, but did not let go of her.
Chloe Collins reached out to open the cover and was about to input the password when her mind drew a blank. She murmured, "My birthday... when is it?"
Just as she was about to remember, the man’s deep voice rang out first, "The 21st of June, 2001."
"Oh."
She tugged at the corner of her lips, her feet swaying lightly as she seemed quite thrilled.
