"See, young lady, how do any of us put up with that temperament!" Jerry River snorted coldly.

Chloe Collins gave a small laugh and turned to Albert Green, "Mr. Green, could you briefly explain your daily schedule to these two."

Immediately understanding her intention, Green stepped forward and spoke genuinely, "Every hour of my day revolves around Chlo-Chlo. First off, I’m waking up at 5:30 a.m. to rush here, working straight until 1:00 p.m before I take a break to eat. I’d usually have time for a nap after lunch, but if my tasks aren’t completed, I can’t sleep. So, after eating, I immediately return and work until 7:00 p.m. I hurriedly eat dinner and then get back to work, ending probably around 1:00 or 2:00 a.m. I get right back home, unless there’s some kind of emergency that keeps me from sleeping, not to mention any time for leisure. If you two genuinely want to share this responsibility with me, I’d be thrilled. It’s been a long time since I’ve watched a movie with my wife and son."

When he finished, he let out a little smile.

Jerry River and Laura Crawford fell silent.

Laura frowned, "Is it that extreme? I’m also involved in research and it’s never been that dramatic!"

"Well then, Ms. Crawford, it seems you won’t be able to keep up. Our lab operates at its own rhythm; we can’t slow down," Chloe said slowly.

Jerry thought for a moment before saying, "Forget it! I’m not going to argue! It’s just a nominal position! She can have it!"

Laura scoffed, "How is it ’giving it to me’? As if the position was yours in the first place! I don’t care for it!"

Chloe gave a small smile and asked, "So you two, still want to be team captain?"

"No!"

They both responded at the same time.

That resolved the minor disagreement.

Everyone let out a sigh of relief and prepared to eat.

After the meal, several researchers were keen on accelerating their progress and immediately gathered to share and study Laura’s research findings in-depth.

Chloe proceeded to conduct a full body check, routinely recording various physical data.

Once work began, Jerry and Laura for the time being set aside their squabble and focused on their tasks.

Laura had initially planned to test several drugs she had developed on Chloe, but after understanding her situation and realizing how different it was from other test subjects, she dared not make hasty attempts.

According to Laura, the side effects of BDR exhibited by Chloe were extremely subtle, unlike other subjects, her blood didn’t thin and her outer appearance didn’t distort. However, the abilities she acquired as a result were much more superior.

That night, Chloe rested at the base and left early the next morning for the Scientific Research Institute.

After three consecutive days of this busy schedule, a visitor disrupted this tranquility.

Tristan Collins stood at the front of Southvale’s Riverside villa, indicating he wanted to talk.

She had taken a rare half-day rest and when she woke up from her nap, his presence tarnished her mood like a mouse turd in a cup of milk.

Tristan stood with his hands behind his back, his slightly overweight figure completely blocking the villa’s small entrance.

Leaning against the inside of the door, with sleepy eyes, Chloe lazily watched him, not saying a word.

Tristan casually glanced around the house, his gaze indifferent.

Just as he took a small step forward, Chloe suddenly spoke, "Let’s talk here, there’s no need to come in."

She stuck her hands in her pajama pockets, completely relaxed.

Ignoring her protest, Tristan walked straight into the yard and sat in the octagonal pavilion, he asked casually, "I heard Alexander Foster moved here because of you?"

A streak of irritation flashed in Chloe’s eyes, "Get out."
