Chapter 1324
He glanced at Alexander Foster.
Then, lowering his head in sigh, he said, "I now suspect that the New Human Project is controlled by the Alliance. If this is true, it will be really difficult to handle as they control the economic lifeline of a large area. They protect each other, like grasshoppers on a rope. Together, they are invincible."
"That’s why I wanted to stay out of this long ago. Mannie is like a child I raised, and I just want her to be okay!"
Chloe Collins fell into silence.
She had imagined the force to be powerful, but she hadn’t expected it to be like this, like a struggle between a small boat and the vast sea.
After a moment, she asked, "Have you heard of the Nebula Plan?"
Jerry River nodded, "I’ve heard a bit. It’s a plan put together by a group of experiment subjects for self-rescue. They’ve been working on it for a long time, but it seems to have made little progress, wasting a lot of human and material resources. Some have even been persuaded to return, some have been resettled, willing to swallow all of this without a word. Meanwhile, some have suddenly died without even having a chance to make a choice."
Chloe Collins said, "The person who took Miss York away this time might not necessarily be the manipulator. It could be them. We’ve had a run-in with them before, and from the surveillance footage, it seems likely."
Jerry River shook his head and laughed bitterly, "Maybe not. Do you know why it’s called the New Human Project? It’s because they want to use drugs to push the potential of humans to the limit. Then, they use this as a resource to further control the global economy. Over the years, those who have survived the experiments have been put to use for them, serving as bodyguards and soldiers, earning high wages in exchange for their loyalty. Therefore, the people you saw might be among them."
"Young Master Foster, I hope you can go back and talk to your grandfather. If he is one of the controllers, I hope he can let Mannie go and stop focusing on her."
Instead, Chloe Collins said, "The Yorks are also part of the Alliance. If they are the controllers, why would Master York let his granddaughter suffer? This doesn’t make sense."
"My grandfather is not one of them." Alexander Foster turned the ring on his finger, his eyes steady, "If he was, he would know about Mannie’s condition. If he knew, he wouldn’t insist so strongly on our marriage."
Jerry River pursed his lips and didn’t refute this, realizing he was too anxious and had lost his senses.
"Then...the batch of people from the past 17 years are either from the Alliance or the Nebula Plan." He said in a daze.
Returning to the main topic, he finally revealed what had happened: "I remember... that day I found Mannie. She was carried on the shoulder by a burly man and had already lost consciousness. He took her to a mountain where there was a private villa, hiding the Seventh Prince, Liam Locke.
It was chaos at the time. He was probably sent there for protection, but he was targeted by that group and they occupied the place. Later, all I heard was Liam’s screams and saw numerous beams of light. When I ran in, only Mannie was left. She was lying on the bed with a needle mark on her arm, a cut on her stomach, and various marks on her body as if she was about to undergo surgery."
"When Mannie woke up, she lost that memory, and I have no intention of reminding her. As for what the Seventh Prince had gone through, I really don’t know. By the time I got in, I couldn’t find him, and his protectors had all been driven away."
Chloe Collins recalled the first time she saw Dean Collins that year. He was exhausted, covered in wounds and panting heavily.
Only he knows what happened afterward.

(Mannie York’s condition is almost over, ending today, good night.)
