After the butler left, Mr. York received a phone call, his face showing a hint of joy.

"Dad, the latest news, a major shareholder will also attend the State Banquet tomorrow!"

On the Independence Day of Anstolas, the royal family hosted a grand State Banquet, inviting envoys from various countries and trading partners as honored guests.

Alexander Foster was also among those invited.

Early in the morning, Master Foster and his party were waiting outside the Lockes’ doorway, quietly waiting for Alex to come out.

The car slowly moved towards the main road, the atmosphere inside the car still.

Ever since the last time he tricked Alexander into returning to Grearon under the pretense of being gravely ill, Master Foster had felt a bit guilty in front of him and had started speaking more cautiously.

After hesitating for a while, he still said: "After today’s State Banquet, go see Manie. Her injury has not healed yet, so she can’t attend the State Banquet, she must be feeling down. Or, I will ask her parents to bring her over, you push her around in the Royal Palace garden, both of you, talk."

He continued, "You still remember the watch she gave you last time, right? It was designed by a designer she had sought out. A girl being able to do this for you proves she has feelings for you."

Master Foster did not fly into a rage, and remained calm, yet said: "The future of the Fosters rests on your shoulders, along with the expectations of those of us elders on you. There must be a woman who is worthy of you by your side to assist you, so that we can rest assured. Chloe is very capable, but her health is not good!"

Regret and helplessness were all incorporated into those words.

Alex remained silent.

Master Foster let out a sigh, "The alliance will soon elect the next head of household, the candidates are you and Milton White. If you make even a slight mistake, the Whites could seize the opportunity. They have been building up their strength for years, as you well know!"

"Grandfather." Alex interrupted him.

He spoke slowly, "The path should be paved by oneself, I don’t need you to pave the path for me, Chloe and the future of Fosters are not in conflict, her presence is only gilding the lily."
