Chapter 1304
Jerry River suggested, "In my opinion, Madam, we should leave first. After all, there are only two people in this courtyard right now, Liam and Logan Locke. They are not outside and can’t contact Mane. So Alexander Foster has to take over. I don’t believe he’ll ignore the situation."
Mrs. York pondered for a while and reluctantly agreed to give it a try.
Jerry River nodded in agreement and ran back to the main gate to close it.
"Madam, this gate cannot be opened without a password, one that I’ve already changed! This way, Alexander Foster won’t be able to leave."
Mrs. York nodded in agreement.
After a short while, they temporarily left the surveillance area of the house.
In the courtyard.
Alexander Foster tried to call Chloe Collins, but couldn’t get through due to the poor signal.
The moment he looked up, he saw a sleeping girl in a wheelchair with her eyes closed, motionless.
Looking around, he didn’t see anyone else.
He glanced at Mane York’s face, without pausing even for half a second, continued his steady strides. Upon reaching the gate, he entered the password only to be told it was incorrect. In the next moment, he scaled the wall, landed lightly, and leisurely walked towards the back mountain.
In the courtyard, a breeze was blowing, rustling Mane York’s hair.
Half an hour later, her hair prickled her awake and her drowsy eyes opened.
The unfamiliar sight before her made her momentarily believe she was dreaming, as she stared dazedly, taking quite a while to come back to her senses.
Suddenly, she heard the sound of a door opening, she looked towards the sound.
Not far off was a very heavy door, slightly ajar, with no one emerging from it.
She looked up at her surroundings, the building in front of her resembled a medieval castle, with climbing vines all over the walls.
Adjacent to the main building were two similar structures, and she was situated right in front of the main building’s entrance.
She looked around suspiciously, but there was still no one in sight.
"Mum?"
What’s going on?
Wasn’t she on an outing with her Mum?
Her mind was fuzzy as if she were still dreaming.
Pushing the wheels of her wheelchair, she headed towards the door which was slightly ajar.
Just as she was about to enter, suddenly, a short, round metal cylinder emerged from within, and the door opened further.
She looked closely and her eyes widened in surprise: "A robot?"
The plump cylinder was holding a tray. Humming a little tune, it rolled out, looking adorable.
Suddenly, the cylinder spread out a pair of wings like a transformer and flew towards the building next door, still singing, "Call the sister, call the sister, Bail wants to call the lady the sister."
She couldn’t catch up with it and regretted her immobile legs.
Her gaze returned to the long corridor inside the door in front of her and saw that the sensor lights on the walls were gradually extinguishing.
Suddenly, the sensor light in the middle of the door came on, appearing to be preparing to close automatically. Without much thought, she rolled herself in.
As her wheelchair rolled in, the door behind her closed tight.
Automatically locking, it was air-tight.
Because of her intrusion, the lights in the corridor lit up again. She rolled down the corridor and halfway in, she saw an archway to her left, so she rolled in straightaway.
This room was odd; there were no windows and it was all lit up.
"You’re here?" came a male voice from within suddenly.
Mane York turned her head to the right, immediately spotting Liam Locke’s silhouette. She was taken aback and, on instinct, wanted to hide. In an instant, noticing a switch on the wall next to her, she reached out and slapped it!
