" Chapter 1287

The trip wasn’t entirely fruitless.

At least, she was now one hundred percent certain Jerry River was far more capable than anyone in their laboratory. This fact, which was consistent with Albert Green’s statement, had made his inclusion a necessity in their plan.

Moreover, she now strongly suspected that as a child, Liam Locke had possibly witnessed the kidnapping of Mane York. The shock of the event sent him into psychological withdrawal, causing him to become introverted.

As she was deep in thought, she suddenly felt a sharp pain in the back of her head, an icy, sticky sensation spread on her neck and hair, slowly trickling down her spine.

The moment she turned her head, she saw an angry man holding a basket glaring at her.

The next second, a crowd of men and women appeared behind the man, each carrying a basket. Their eyes were filled with rage as they madly hurled rotten vegetables and stinking eggs at her.

A gust of wind flew by her ears. In an instant, two secret guards stepped forward to shield her from the barrage of rotten vegetables.

She waved them off, signaling that she would handle it.

With an unchanged countenance, she gazed at the arrogant crowd in front of her, her eyes sweeping over each and every one of their faces.

"Get out of Anstolas!" The man shouted.

The crowd behind him followed suit: "Get out of Anstolas!".

"Disgusting woman! How dare you hurt our Princess Mane! Take this!"

A woman hurled a durian at her.

Chloe Collins dodged it nimbly and kicked the durian back. It fell to the ground and broke into pieces.

The crowd paused, some frightened, momentarily silent.

Three seconds later, their hostility rose again.

"Charge! Let’s beat her up! For Princess Mane!" The man yelled.

Chloe’s eyes flashed coldly. She pulled a sunshade cloth from a nearby car, flung it into the air, and instantly shielded herself from all the vegetables and rotten eggs.

As the sunshade cloth slowly fell to the ground, she faced the crowd with a calm demeanor and sneered, "All of you together?"

This icy smirk sent a chill through the crowd, their courage dwindling and they fell silent again, hesitating to take further action.

Only the man leading the crowd was still agitated, continuing to shout and yell.

Chloe’s gaze swept past his face, her eyes slowly moving to a tall building of the Duke’s Mansion where a noble woman was standing, who was silently watching the situation and seemed to be smiling.

She chuckled and without looking at the charging man, deftly blocked his fist and knocked him to the ground in one swift move!

The man tumbled, wailing in pain.

Chloe nonchalantly said: "Who else wants to step forward? We are recording, I can put you on television, how about that?"

"Recording?" The crowd was taken aback.

Chloe spoke calmly: "Bullying the few by the many, innocent surprise attack, these buzzwords as the headline should attract a lot of viewers, right? You already saw my two bodyguards, they are the cameramen, specially assigned for this shooting. Anyone else dreams of having a close-up like him?"

She glanced at the still groaning man on the ground.

The crowd exchanged glances. They didn’t move forward, some even took a few steps back. They cautiously surveyed the surroundings, many hiding their guilty faces behind the baskets.

"I don’t want to be on TV!"

"The deal was just to teach her a lesson, why are we being filmed? This is so annoying!"

"If we were on TV, we would be drowned by the saliva of netizens. Tang was the victim and didn’t start it, being on TV would do us no good!" "
