Chapter 1220
She hurriedly opened the door and went in, forgetting about not just that matter but also Raine Nolan.
Raine Nolan watched her retreating figure with a cold gaze then turned to run away.
While walking in the courtyard outside, she received a call from the Student Council President. He scolded her shamelessly and mentioned breaking up.
He obviously knew about the situation too.
Raine Nolan sneered, "It’s an honor for you that I even consider you. You think with your family background, you’re eligible to be friends with us? Go ahead and curse me, but I’ll make sure you pay for every word!"
Most people are afraid of power and aggression. The person on the other end suppressed his anger and reluctantly hung up the phone.
She spat out a contemptuous sound.
-
Southvale’s Riverside.
The house was quiet with lights shinning everywhere.
Chloe Collins was lying on the bed, deeply asleep with her head resting on a soft pillow. The man next to her remained still, watching her silently.
Albert Green said that she falls asleep easily and has no idea when she’ll wake up. So he decided to watch over her.
After about fifteen minutes, he turned off the bright light, leaned against the side of the bed and closed his eyes, too.
Chloe Collins woke up in the middle of the night. The hunger pangs pulled her out of her slumber.
She had another nightmare which involved Alexander Foster.
Last time she dreamt his eyes were injured. But this time it was worse, she dreamed he was dead.
The room was dim. She remembered fainting in the courtyard and didn’t know who helped her get up. It definitely wasn’t Raine Nolan.
Her nose may not be as sensitive, but she felt a man was next to her and reached out to touch him. Sure enough, she felt hair at her side.
The room lit up.
Alexander Foster was half-awake, he gazed at her, "Did you sleep well?"
His hand is tenderly stroking her hair, exposing her beautiful eyes.
"When did you come here?"
"Just after six."
"So, you’ve been sleeping here this whole time."
"Hmm."
She blinked, "It seems my power really is gone. I didn’t notice anything."
"Don’t worry," he leaned down and kissed her, "you have me."
She paused suddenly, his sincere features reflected in her eyes, causing her gaze to become unintentionally soft.
Chloe Collins rarely liked to hear sentimental words, but she found his comment particularly pleasing at this moment.
She didn’t respond aloud, instead, she just gazed at his hand. His long fingers were braced by her hand. She pressed her fingers towards his, comparing their lengths.
However, the next second, silently, she let her fingers fall naturally between his, gripping them tightly.

The new medicine had strong effects. Chloe Collins stayed at Southvale’s Riverside for two days and finally began to feel better. She dropped from sixteen hours of sleep per day down to eleven. The rest of the time she was awake but not as alert as before.
Her hearing and smell haven’t returned, it’s as if they’ve vanished forever.
In this case, she didn’t know whether it was a good or bad thing. The only thing she could be sure of was that she was not used to it.
In the past, she could know the movement downstairs without going out, but now, if she wanted to know if there was someone in the courtyard, she had to check the monitor.
Alexander Foster moved his office here to accompany her. Basically, anything that could be handled from here, he wouldn’t leave.
As for Mane York, Alexander Foster had already found out. She was indeed one of the experiment subjects, but unlike others, there was no repeatedly testing on her. She was being treated all these years and was being well managed.
