Chapter 1135
Seeing that nobody was blaming her, Manie York breathed a sigh of relief.
"Alright, let’s go eat. The party’s about to start soon," Tony Marshal reminded her.
"No thanks, I still have some things to do. I won’t eat now."
It wasn’t unusual for female stars in the Entertainment Circle to avoid eating before performances. Tony was used to it and didn’t try to persuade her further. He nodded and walked away.
Manie then checked the forum again before heading out.
She returned to her dormitory.
Her roommate handed her the parcel she’d just collected. "Here is your parcel. You seem to be anxious about it. Is it something valuable?"
Everyone was curious.
They had never seen Manie so anxious about a parcel before.
Manie quickly unwrapped the parcel and said, "It’s a birthday gift for someone."
"A birthday gift?" The three people crowded around, curious and excited. "For whom? We’ve never seen you prepare a birthday gift for anyone before."
"Of course, it is for the man I like."
"Oh, who is it? Which man is so fortunate to have caught our Manie’s eye?"
Manie raised an eyebrow without answering and took out the gift.
Inside was an exquisite and luxurious wristwatch.
"Wow, this is from the Gormans, right? And it’s the latest release from the Light-Year series. I’ve been following this series, and I think this one is the best!"
She couldn’t help but reach out to touch it.
Just as she was about to touch it, Manie blocked her hand.
"I’m sorry, but you can’t touch this today." She smiled slightly, wrapped up the gift, and said: "You’re correct, it’s that wristwatch. I had our family’s designer especially design it for him."
A year ago, she had ordered this custom-designed wristwatch from this series, thinking that she could find Alexander Foster as soon as she arrived. She didn’t expect it to take so long.
Fortunately, his birthday was coming up, so she had it sent over.
This watch had only appeared at two high-end exhibitions, and even the whole series was not for sale, yet it had reached its peak in popularity.
"If it’s your family’s designer... Is it the famous Jonathan Brown?"
"Isn’t Jonathan Brown a designer for the Gormans? Wait! Don’t forget, the Gormans’ company is actually owned by Manie’s family."
"We didn’t forget, you did."
"How could I possibly forget something like that..." Someone murmured.
One of roommates asked in confusion, "Manie, you said ’asked’? You mean your family’s designer might reject your request? Isn’t designing a wristwatch a simple task?"
Manie answered, "Not really, he’s very peculiar and doesn’t show up to the office. He’s very mysterious and lazy. He only designs a collection once in a while, but each one is extremely popular. My parents value his work highly. At first, they didn’t allow me to bother him. I eventually had to beg my older coworker from the design team for a long time. I think she owed him a favor, and that’s why he agreed."
Her roommate nodded, "So the rumors about him are true. He’s so arrogant. I really want to see what he looks like."
Manie picked up the gift and said, "I wouldn’t bother, I haven’t even met him, and there’s nothing special about him."
She held the gift and went outside, thinking about when to give the gift to Alexander Foster.
As soon as it hit midnight, she sent him a text message wishing him a happy birthday. Because he didn’t use the messaging app, she had to send it as a text message.
As expected, she didn’t receive a reply.
Fortunately, she was the last to appear at the party. So, before her turn, she decided to go to the Fosters’ house and hand over the gift.
As she was rushing to the Fosters’ house, in a private room at Capitol University’s Tea House, Damien Hart was being bossed around by Chloe Collins.
Robert Foster watched on the side, dumbfounded.
