Chapter 1118: Chapter 1118: Give Way_1
"Chapter 1118
Evelyn Thompson slowly said, "Miss York, as you heard earlier, our son is not accustomed to living with strangers. Chloe Collins is an exception. In fact, he already treats her like his fiancée. So, there is no basis for comparison between you two. I hope you won’t put me, as a mother, in a difficult position."
Feeling dissatisfied, Mane York left the Fosters’ house shortly after.
She arrived earlier today, hoping to dash Chloe Collins’s spirits. Yet, she hadn’t expected this outcome.
Sitting in the car, she couldn’t help but look at herself in the makeup mirror.
What did she lack?
Was the matter of who arrived first really that important?
However, if it came down to this, it was she who knew Alexander Foster before Chloe Collins moved in the Foster house. So, it should’ve been her first, right?
As her annoyance grew, so did the instability of her driving speed.
The high-speed drive somewhat calmed her down. Once she got back to school, she sat in the car and thought for a long time.
"No, I can’t give up so easily. It’s normal to encounter this kind of situation from the beginning! Right, I’ll take it slow."
Mumbling to herself, she stepped out of the car.
It was time for class, and a lot of students were rushing into the school building.
As Mane York approached, the crowd naturally parted to let her through.
Most of the students in this teaching building belonged to the School of Information Science, and they all knew her. Eager to curry favor, they followed her closely.
Some wanted to talk and get on her good side. Others simply hoped that by following her, they wouldn’t be reprimanded by teachers even if they were late.
As she was about to reach the staircase, the crowd was blocked again.
Mane York was jostled by someone and frowned in displeasure.
"Hey, hey, hey, what’s going on juniors? Don’t you know to make way for your seniors?"
The unsuspecting juniors turned around to see that the seniors were all sophomores and juniors. Despite being a transfer student and technically a freshman, Mane York was still regarded as a senior.
Therefore, most people promptly made way for her.
Mane York didn’t speak. Her brows relaxed as she stepped forward.
However, two people continued forward as if they hadn’t heard them at all.
Looking up, Mane York saw a very tall man turned away from her, standing about 1.9 meters tall.
He had a straight, impressive figure, but something about him felt strange.
He continued to walk forward at a steady pace, seemingly following someone in front of him.
Someone by his side spoke, "Chloe Collins, make some way and let the seniors go first."
"And who is that? A junior? I haven’t seen him before. You too, make way."
The man didn’t yield, maintaining his previous speed and moving forward.
After a few seconds, the two reached the second floor of the staircase, and everyone saw that the tall man was indeed following Chloe Collins.
"Chloe Collins, wait!" a senior called out to her.
Chloe Collins stood on the first step, casting a light downward glance with her cold eyes.
"Why are you the exception when everyone else gives way to seniors?"
"Do you know, all the students in our department respect their teachers and seniors. Making way for seniors is a basic requirement."
Chloe: "I didn’t know."
Her light reply left many feeling stifled.
"Now that you know, aren’t you going to step aside?"
Chloe glanced at the empty corridors on both sides and said, "Can’t your legs bend?"
It was another infuriating remark!
Everyone frowned at her, mostly women, of course. The men didn’t make a fuss about such minor things. One by one, they watched the drama unfold with smiles on their faces."
