His Mafia Prince
Chapter 57: My Little ’Lady’

Chapter 57: My Little ’Lady’

(TYLER)

The next day at breakfast, the house is full of energy as Marco and his two children play about. Marco’s wife, Gloria is much quieter. She laughs at her husband’s jokes and watches him adoringly.

Sasha isn’t at the breakfast table and his absence disappoints me. I convince myself that the only reason his absence bothers me is because I suspect he is avoiding me. He’d told me earlier yesterday night that he’d schedule a doctor’s appointment for me today, but if he isn’t around, I can’t nag him to follow through. It has nothing to do with him being sweet to me yesterday night. Definitely not.

"Tyler," Marco calls out. "Tell me more about yourself," he beams me with a smile as he pours himself a glass of apple juice.

Marco has no idea that my marriage to Sasha was a scheme. After Angelo’s stellar performance yesterday, I don’t know what he thinks.

"You have family nearby?"

"No," I avoid his gaze.

"Leave him alone," Gloria says. "He probably doesn’t like talking about himself as much as you do."

Marco laughs and waves her off. "True," despite the forced laugh he wheezes out, I’m well aware that he is watching me as I butter my toast.

"It’s nice having Tyler around," Lucia says then turns to his brother. "He has such a calming aura, right?"

Gloria smiles and then looks at me. "Yes, it’s the omegas’ job to keep alphas around them peaceful."

Marco laughs harshly. "I wish you the best of luck, Tyler. With an alpha as highheaded as Sasha, you definitely have your work cut out for you."

"Marco doesn’t realize he is thrice as high-headed as Sasha." Gloria winks at me.

"That’s a lie." Marco frowns.

"It’s true," Lucia grins at Gloria. "We all know you’ve been high maintenance."

Marco rolls his eyes. "They like doing this to me when they’re together, always. This is just them picking out on me."

I can’t help but laugh.

"You have any plans for today, Tyler?" Marco asks.

My stomach turns and I song lift my gaze from my plate. "Yes...I have a doctor’s appointment."

Lucia narrows her gaze at me. "Are you alright, Tyler?" I told her about the baby when we went clothes shopping, so she knows what’s going on, but then he can’t say anything in front of Marco’s family.

I clear my throat. "It’s just a routine visit."

"Are you going with Sasha?" Marco asks. "If not, I’ll be more than happy to drive you there."

Oh hell no.

"Yes," I blurt out immediately. "Sasha is taking me."

I’m not even sure if Sasha will take me to the doctor. I doubt if he even remembers we were supposed to schedule an appointment for me. But I’m determined to get this baby out of me, one way or the other. I’ll even call in and book the appointment myself if Sasha doesn’t. I know Sasha will probably be pissed if I do that. I don’t care though.

I don’t have the luxury to sit around and wait for him to approve. The look Angelo shot me at the house yesterday when he was leaving needed no explanation. I know in my gut that he is going to tell Sasha about us. When he finally does, Sasha will probably kick me out, bite or no bite. I just don’t see a way how he will accept my past with his brother. I must get this baby out before he finds out who the father is. I can’t go back to the streets pregnant again.

When Sasha walks into the room, I feel something knot at the pit of my stomach. Riley and Chase squeal at the sight of their cousin and run towards him, it catches me by surprise when he lifts Riley and swings her up on his shoulder, grinning. Chase hugs him at the waist and he ruffles his hair.

I didn’t believe him when he told me he liked kids. It seemed more like he was pulling my leg, but as it seems, he wasn’t. I can see the real joy on his face as he teases his nephew and niece. They too, adore him. This sight of Sasha stirs something inside of me.

He meets my gaze. "Your appointment is an hour and a half from now. We should think about leaving soon."

I blink at him in bewilderment. "Okay, I’m actually ready," I can’t believe he really scheduled an appointment for me. I thought he’d come up with some scheming excuse about why I can’t have my abortion again.

He takes a strip of bacon and chews it as Riley pushes his hair up and ties it with a band then kicks her legs as she giggles. "Steady there, Riley. I’m gonna drop you if you wiggle too much."

"Daddy will kill you if you drop me."

"How dare you belittle my mighty strength?" he teases and the kids giggle hysterically.

It’s almost like I’m watching an alien from outer space. Never once had I imagined that lid ever see a sweeter version of Sasha. Of course, he was kind to me last night, but that is far much different from what he is with his cousins now. He’s totally unguarded. I get a strange fuzzy feeling in my gut as I watch them. This must be just another one of his fake acts. There’s no way this is Sasha

Minutes later, the playing seizes and Sasha turns his attention to me. "Are you ready to go?"

"Yes," I jerk up and drop my napkin. I wave everyone goodbye and join Sasha in the doorway. Riley and Chase run to me and surprise me with a goodbye hug. I ruffle their hair and Riley looks up at me with a silly smile tugged at her lips. "Tyler, are you two going to kiss in the car?"

"What?" I snicker. "No, I have an appointment."

"So what?" Chase spreads out his palms, "You can still kiss."

Sasha chuckles. "Get off my husband, you maniacs."

The kids fall into a fit of giggles. "You have them charmed for real," I mumble to Sasha.

Sasha smirks as we take our leave. "That’s because I’m charming."

"Of course, only when you are a little girl."

"Wow," he grins, "Shouldn’t I be right up your alley then?"

I know he’s referring to our last night’s conversation by that. I can’t help but laugh out loud. "Fuck off."

"Is that any way for a little lady to talk?" he’s laughing so hard he looks out of breath.

"Knock it off." I punch his arm.

"Ouch," he grimaces, "that definitely isn’t a little girl punch."

We head out and meet Miles standing by the Mercedes. When he opens the back door for us, Sasha says, "I’ll drive Tyler to the appointment today. You can have the rest of the day off."

"Are you sure, boss?" Miles asks surprised.

"Yes, sure." Sasha shrugs. "I love driving every now and then. What’s the point of having all these cars if I can’t drive them?"

"Right," Miles says with a strained smile. "I could ride shotgun if you want."

"Nah."

"Thanks for the day off boss," Miles says.

"Sure," Sasha opens the door for me and I get in. He then shuts the door from outside then keeps talking to Miles. As the conversation keeps going, I notice that Mile’s gaze flicks on me every few seconds. I’m not sure if Miles approves of me. He’s certainly never warm and fuzzy with me. Then again, the only person Miles ever feels fuzzy around is Sasha. Their relationship is more than just an employee and employer relationship. They must be good friends too.
