His Mafia Prince
Chapter 196: He’s Coming With Me

Chapter 196: He’s Coming With Me

(JERICHO)

"So, nothing changed? You’re still the soft hearted simp you were!" the alpha named Danny says. "I see that nothing changed, after all."

"Neither did you. You are still the violent disgusting excuse of an alpha." Wesley’s face twitch with rage.

"Just because we do what needs to be done at the moment, you automatically graduated us to violent thugs! You’ve never had the guts to do this business."

"Yes. You’re damn right. That is the exact reason why I left it behind." Wesley hisses.

"Tried to, you mean?" Danny jeers. "I can’t believe you ran away from us thinking that we couldn’t find you."

"Yeah. I mean... took you and Papa long enough." Wesley smirks, looking more belligerent than I have ever seen him. "I’ve had six peaceful years of not having to see your ugly faces."

"Don’t you dare speak to Papa that way." Anger paints Danny’s features. "Not after all he did to raise you after Ma passed away." He glares at Wesley with a murderous expression on his face, but the older alpha stops him."

"Go easy on him, Danny. He has always been the mouthy one." Papa smiles, displaying his nicotine-stained teeth. Papa is the thin older alpha with a grizzled face and shiny silver hair. "We have all the time to get revenge. Right now, we just have to get him into the car."

"I’m not going anywhere with you." Wesley’s voice wobbles. "Not until you at least let me call an ambulance for him." He points at the unconscious redhead. "If you... if you at least let me, get him some help, then I will go with you quietly."

"How sweet," Papa says. "You are always such a soft hearted big, Wesley. That shit will get you killed. You are a Sawyer. It’s about time you started acting like it. I have always taught you to look out for yourself first, or didn’t I?"

"You did try. But Ma taught me to care for those around me first." Wesley purses. "It’s too bad that she had to be the one to die first."

Once again, Danny tries to lunge for Wesley, but Papa holds him back. "I’m not going to tell you again, Danny. We’ll have all the time to deal with him after we get out of here. After we get him in the fucking car."

I’m reeling in shock as I watch the scene unfold right before my eyes. It is becoming horribly clear that these two assholes are Irish mafia-Sawyers for that matter. And they are related to Wesley!

They are not strangers to him, and apparently, they are family! That means one thing-that Wesley is part of the Irish mafia. Is he the son of the notorious Peter Sawyer? What the fuck is going on here? My stomach turns at the knowledge. Now that I know the truth about who Wesley is, I should probably get myself out of this situation. The logical thing to do now is to leave and let Wesley die his own death. He is related to the Irish mafia, and that, by default, makes us enemies.

I try to walk away, but my feet feel cemented to the ground. It doesn’t seem to matter what my brain tells me to do. Instinct tells me to stay and fight for Wesley. Every cell in my body vibrates with the certainty that I need to protect him from these goons. I can’t just run away and leave him with them. I need to get up and do something, whatever to shield him. That impulse is mystifying and impossible to ignore. I’m compelled to help him and fight for him, even if it costs me my life.

Luckily for me, none of them are aware of my presence yet. They are all so focused on yelling at each other that they don’t realize that somebody is here with them. I decide to use that to my advantage and raise my weapon and focus on Peter because he is the one calling the shots. My hands tremble slightly as I try to work up the nerve to speak and make my presence known.

Sweat breaks out on my face and my mouth is as dry as sandpaper. It’s now or never. I can either help Wesley right now or be a coward again and slink to safety. The image of then beating Wesley up and finally killing him creeps into my brain. I have no choice but to stay and help to save Wesley.

I clench my jaw and force myself to step out from my hiding spot on the cement block that I’ve been hiding behind. Fear washes through me as I train my gun and point it at the older guy and shout. "Let him go, now!"

My voice catches their attention and all three turn to look at me. Wesley’s eyes widen and his lip’s part with obvious astonishment. The other two don’t look surprised at my presence. Instead, they look pissed off.

"Who the fuck are you?" Danny scowls.

"Don’t worry about who I am." My voice trembles and I cuss out. "Let Wesley go and don’t even think of doing anything abrupt."

Peter recovers first then his lips curve into a mean smile. "I know you. You’re Jericho Adonis."

"So what?" I rasp. I’m surprised that he was able to recognise me that quickly, but I know better than to show him that.

Peter snorts a laugh. "Well, the good lord has sure been looking down on us, Danny. Jericho Adonis was wise enough to deliver himself to us. At least he has saved us the hassle of having to hunt him down."

"I’m not here to deliver myself. I’m taking Wesley with me and we are leaving."

"Oh, he’s scared." Danny narrows his eyes. "I suspect the pampered brat has never held a gun in his life."

"Nonsense." I snarl. "You want me to put a bullet between your eyes just to show you that I can shoot?" Actually, I’m a fairly good shot. But I don’t blame them for doubting me because at the moment, my hands are trembling like a leaf. "Now, let Wes go."

"His name is Wesley." Danny grates out. "That is his God given name."

"I’m not here to argue about his name, dumb ass. Send him over to me. Now." I talk tough as though my hands are not sweaty. I’m even worried that I’m going to drop the damn gun. "Come here, Wesley."

What the fuck is he waiting for? Why is he still standing there with these lunatics?

"He isn’t going anywhere." Peter growls."

"Oh, but he is coming with me." I retort softly, trying to look as menacing as I can.

"Over my dead body." Danny rasps.

I scowl at Danny. "Works for me."

"Jericho..." Wesley begins hoarsely. "You shouldn’t be here. You should go. You need to run." He looks at me, face flushed. It is obvious that he thinks that I can’t save him. He doesn’t even look relieved to see me. Instead, he just looks really worried. "You’re gonna get yourself killed."

"No, I’m not. Get over here. We are leaving." I hold out my hand to him but he shakes his head.

"Go, Jericho. Don’t worry about me. I can handle these two."

Really?

"I’m not leaving this place without you." His behavior frustrates me and I grit my teeth. The longer he keeps stalling, the more likely we are to die both. It’s already hard enough to rescue him, but it’s even harder because he doesn’t want to be rescued.

"You should listen to Wesley, Jericho." Peter says in a threatening tone.

"I’m not going anywhere without him." Out of the side of my eye, I notice when Danny starts to slip his hand inside the pocket of his jacket. "Don’t do it." I bark, training my weapon on him. "I’ll fucking shoot you. Don’t dare me."

Peter snickers when my hand trembles. "You have never shot anyone in your life, have you?"

"So what?" I snap. "I’m more than willing for you to be my first."

The smile on Peter’s face fades. "You’re making a mistake, Jericho. This is a private family matter. You have no right to butt in."

"And judging by Wesley’s split lip, I think I got here just in time." I train the gun to the older alpha. "You are Peter Sawyer, right? I feel an odd need to verify that I’m indeed in the presence of the leader of the Sawyer clan.

"That’s right." He smirks. "Now that you know who I am, you might want to rethink pointing your gun at me, Jericho."

"Really?" I laugh. "Because I was thinking I might do the world a big favor if I get rid of you now."

Danny snarls. "You arrogant piece of Adonis shit. How dare you threaten my father? The head of the Sawyer clan?" his face twitches with rage. "I can’t wait until we begin to run things. We are tired of kissing Italian ass."

"Oh yeah?" I let out a dramatic laugh. "Now, who’s going to help you? No one wants to work with bottom feeders. My brother would crush you without breaking a sweat."

"Excuse me?" Danny yells.

"Calm down, Danny." Peter says. "I don’t want this pampered pipsqueak to accidentally shoot me."

"Papa, we can’t let him get away with talking to you so disrespectfully." Danny frowns.

"He’s just talking, son. We will soon get into our rightful places. Peter brushes strands of hair out of his weathered face. "And if he wants Wesley that bad, he can have him. For now."

"B...but Papa," Danny sputters. "It took us six years to hunt this fucker down." He motions at Wesley.

"It’s just for a while. They won’t get far." Peter says.

"Wesley, get over here now." I groan impatiently. I want to get him as far away as possible from those two Irish mafia psychos. "If you keep stalling, you’re gonna get us both killed."

Wesley hesitates for a bit then glances at the unconscious redhead on the ground. I see that there is obvious concern in his face and that alone makes me sick to my core. Is he in love with the redhead? Would he rather stay with him than come with me?

"Please, Wesley..."
