His Mafia Prince -
Chapter 113: Face to Face
Chapter 113: Face to Face
(ARLO)
The door opens and a tall, brooding dark-haired alpha enters the room. I know instantly and without a doubt that it is Sasha. His air of authority is unquestionable. He is quite young for a syndicate boss, but over time, he has proven more than enough that he can run his family.
Of course, I hate his guts on sight because of how he humiliated my father and that he killed him. Even bound, I would try and free myself just so I could strangle the asshole. The way he laughs at my murderous rage only flares my anger worse.
He watches me with a smug expression as he slips his hand beneath Tyler’s waist. "What do you think of him, love?
Tyler squints at me. "I’m not sure yet."
"Miles is still being a pill about him." Sasha sniffs. "honestly, it is beginning to wear me out."
"Just be patient a little longer." Tyler pats his shoulders. " He has never given anyone his bite. He must be very confused right now."
Sasha eyes Tyler softly. "I’m gonna wait a little while longer. Just because you told me to."
I watch them being sweet with each other, feeling completely disconnected. It is weird seeing how Sasha, a born Mafioso is being sweet with his omega. It feels like watching an alligator doting on a little bunny rabbit. So Sasha is actually capable of love? That’s so unlike him, considering the stories I’ve heard about him.
Tyler however seems to take his husband’s tenderness for granted. He is all smiles as he moves gracefully towards the door.
"Should I tell Miles that Arlo is awake?"
Sasha shakes his head. "Not yet." His sweet expression towards his man chills as he turns to me. "I want to have a little chat with our guest first."
"Behave, Sasha," Tyler warns.
Sasha’s face softens again. "Of course, Love."
Tyler snickers as he leaves the room, which for some reason makes me uneasy. Sasha is so well behaved right now with Tyler here. I’m not sure that that will hold once Tyler is behind those doors.
The room goes silent. Now it’s just me and the alpha I’m dying to murder.
Sasha watches me for a bit then begins to move closer to me. His strides are slow and menacing. I feel a bit like a predator being stalked by hungry prey. I don’t know what he thought of my father, but one thing that I surely know is that he doesn’t care about me. He stops a few feet away and I notice the hate shimmering in his eyes.
"Turns out you’re more stupid than your father." He purses.
The way he casually insults my father angers me. "Fuck you, Sasha," I growl.
"That’s the best you got?" he says condescendingly while lifting his brows. "Miles surely knows how to pick them."
The fact that I can’t do any damage to Sasha. In shaking with anger, watching the alpha I hate most standing right in front of me but with my arms bound to my back. I can’t attack him even if I tried. Not that I think that Sasha would be easy to take down even with my arms free. Fighting Sasha in hand-to-hand combat was never part of my plan. I always intended to ambush him.
Why would I play fair with Sasha? He never played fair with my father. "You’ll get yours eventually, Sasha."
He sighs defeatedly and looks at me as if I’m some troublesome kid. "You really don’t see how lenient I was to you? Or do you just like throwing tantrums?"
"Was killing my father in cold blood lenient?"
"You got all your facts mixed up, kid. Why am I not surprised?"
"Yes, you did. You humiliated him.
"And I spared you." He snaps. "I got to admit that I now regret my decision about being so lenient with you. I would have murdered you along with them then I wouldn’t have to worry about dealing with you right now. I have business to handle, kid."
"I bet," I say. "You have a long line of people on your list to betray. I guess the schedule is full."
"Your father had what happened to him coming. He was supposed to be on my side but instead, he threw a fit, decided to be allied with my enemy then tried to kill my omega. You didn’t expect me to stand by and just let him disrespect me and mine like that, now did you?"
I’m not the idiot that he thinks I am. I know how the mafia works, which means I fully understand his need to retaliate. But he didn’t have to kill my father even if he chose to retaliate. Either way, I know that we are not going to see eye to eye on this subject. Negotiations are off the table with my father gone. J want blood. Sasha Adonis’ blood, to be precise.
"Then kill me. Do it." I hiss as I take a step towards him. "I’m sick to death of hearing all your excuses of why it was okay for you to kill my father and take his property. Come at me. Let’s get this over with once and for all."
His mischievous eyes light with some sort of murderous excitement. "You should know better than to tempt me." He grits his teeth.
The door opens and Miles walks in. He takes one look at Sasha and moves swiftly towards us. "What’s happening between you two?" he slips between me and Sasha with a strained smile. "No one is killing anyone. Everyone should get along."
"Not really," Sasha says gruffly. I was thinking it won’t be so bad if I gut this little unappreciative prick." His muscles are bunched and he looks like he is about to shove Miles away and pounce on me.
"Just try," I say, pushing his patience.
Miles glances at me impatiently and back to his boss. "I’d really prefer you didn’t kill him, sir."
"And I’d you don’t tell me how to do my job. Let me deal with this punk the way he deserves." Sasha’s eyes glitter with malice.
"Come on, Sasha. Just a little longer." He sighs. "I get he’s a pain in the ass and I fully understand if you want to murder him. I myself have that urge at least thrice a day. I’ll be really grateful if you hold back for just a tiny bit longer."
Sasha hesitates for a moment. Resentment burns in his eyes as he gives a harsh laugh and takes a step back. "You’re lucky Miles’s timing was great." He turns to Miles. "This little shit’s brains would be on the floor."
A chill rises my spine like a rattlesnake when I notice the gleam of a gun in Sasha’s holster. I hadn’t even noticed that it had been there all along. If I didn’t hate him so much, maybe I would have appreciated his stealthiness. There’s no question in my mind Miles just saved my life.
But since I’m not one to back out without a challenge, I grate out. "Figures you’d attack me with my arms bound to my back. You’re so fucking honourable, Sasha. Here’s an idea. How about you untie me and give me a gun too? Then we see whose brains end up on the floor first?"
