His Genius Wife Is A Superstar
Chapter 1641 1641: Be Gone, Temptation

Jin Liwei immediately promised his wife.

Iris Long smiled, feeling satisfied. She gave him another quick kiss on the mouth before patting his bare chest. "Go take a shower. It's late. We're both exhausted."

"En."

Indeed, he could feel the exhaustion gradually washing over him. His bruised shoulder throbbed with pain, but he still felt sweet inside because his wife already massaged it for him. Although the force of her fingers was negligible to be truly effective, he already started to feel better somehow. He felt relieved to be together with his wife again.

Not wasting any more time, he headed straight to the bathroom to wash up and get ready for bed.

In the meantime, Iris took a pair of pyjamas and underwear for her husband.

Since the original plan was for Jin Liwei to follow her to the Philippines after he completed his business affairs, his clothes and other necessities had been packed alongside hers so that he wouldn't need to bring separate luggage. All their stuff had already been arranged in their hotel bedroom's closet and drawers.

Jin Liwei didn't take long in the shower. He came out, still damp and steaming, with a towel wrapped around his waist. His muscles rippled with his every movement.

Iris' attention was quickly diverted from the TV to her husband.

He stood by the foot of the bed, watching the TV, as he used another towel to dry his hair. His wife's gaze was too intense. He could feel it but pretended not to notice. Let his wife feast her eyes as much as she wanted. The corners of his mouth curved up.

Iris swallowed and forced herself to calm down. Her eyes glanced at the digital clock on the bedside table. The red digits seemed to freeze her brain, causing it to short-circuit for a couple of seconds, before she caught herself.

Ah, the exhaustion must be starting to catch up to her.

The fresh scent of men's shampoo and body wash (courtesy of Orchidia Beauty Men's Line) wafted from the still-steamy bathroom.

"Love?" she heard her husband say.

"Huh?"

"Are you okay?" he asked in a low, husky voice.

Although his voice sounded gentle, the look in his eyes was deep, magnetic, and almost predatory, as if he wanted to swallow her whole and not leave anything.

Iris took a few deep breaths before forcing her eyes to look away from him.

She almost wanted to shout at him, "Be gone, temptation!!!"

Instead, she said, "Go put on your pyjamas. Hurry up. I'm so sleepy."

Jin Liwei's smile deepened. He knew very well his effect on her. But as much as he wanted to seduce his wife, he forcefully restrained himself.

He didn't come a day early to seduce her. He just wanted to be with her as soon as possible, to accompany her on this important business trip abroad.

Dom had sent Iris' schedule to him beforehand. Jin Liwei knew how brutal his wife's schedule would be starting tomorrow. She almost had no time for leisure until the last couple of days of their stay here in the Philippines.

He wasn't a heartless and selfish husband who would demand sex from his busy and exhausted wife.

After putting on his pyjamas and drying his hair, he joined his wife on the bed and hugged her under the covers. He didn't plan on doing anything to her. He just wanted to hold her in his arms while they slept.

However, his wife's hands quickly turned naughty. They started roaming all over his chest and abdomen, sometimes going down dangerously close to the now-stiff Little Liwei. His little brother down below certainly hungered for some tender loving care.

He couldn't help but groan. Then he caught her hands. "Evelina, please. Don't torment me like this."

"You're the one who has been seducing me," she retorted.

There was coquettishness in her voice, like a kitten brushing its little paws in his heart. He felt tickled, sweet, and delirious all at the same time.

He swallowed hard, doing his best to maintain control of his sanity. All he wanted to do was get on top of her, to kiss her until she begged him for air, to join their bodies in the most primitive way possible, and to lose control until neither of them couldn't take it anymore.

"I just feel so happy that you came, Liwei," she said, her voice low and light that he almost failed to catch her words. "Although I have Dom, Ying Yue, and the others, not to mention that the Chua family are all so hospitable, I still feel a little uncomfortable in a foreign country, especially with you and our children not with me."

His wife's words sobered Jin Liwei up immediately. His crotch still ached, but the warmth spreading from his heart was enough to calm him down.

He grabbed one of his wife's soft hands and kissed it before giving her forehead a kiss, too.

"Does it still hurt?" Iris caressed his bruised shoulder afterward.

"Not anymore," he said.

It was true.

It didn't hurt anymore…much.

He gave her forehead another kiss before pulling her body closer to him. "Sleep now, love."

Just as his words fell from his lips, her eyes closed and she fell in deep sleep with a faint smile on her face.

###

The next day, the hotel room bustled with an organized chaotic energy.

Everyone was already awake while the sky outside was still dark.

Jin Liwei stood by the hotel suite's glass windows and sipped hot, freshly brewed coffee while watching the already busy traffic on the roads below.

Manila traffic was notoriously slow and stressful. Linda had kept on emphasizing to everyone that they needed an early head start. A ten-minute distance in theory could actually take half an hour to a full hour and more with Manila's notorious traffic. The only way to avoid being stuck in a traffic jam was to travel outside the rush hours.

Jin Liwei glanced at his wife's entourage running around.

At first, everyone looked like headless flies flying around in a panic. A closer inspection, however, revealed that everyone and everything moved like gears in a well-oiled machine.

Dom directed the machine like an experienced master conductor. Their most important piece and the heart of it all was Iris. She maintained her composure despite the organized chaos surrounding her.

She sat in front of a makeshift makeup vanity while her glam team worked on her makeup, hair, and nails. The others also organized her outfits for the day, hanging them in a clothes rack, and even labelling them.

"Sir Boss, would you like Filipino, Western, or Chinese breakfast?" Dom asked, his hands full with his phone and work tablet. "Or perhaps Continental breakfast? Although I wouldn't recommend it as we have a pretty busy and long day today. It's better to eat more for energy."

"What did my wife order?" Jin Liwei asked instead.

"Boss wants a Filipino breakfast."

"Then I'll have the same," Jin Liwei said.

Dom grinned. "Got it, Sir Boss. I'll call for room service right away. We're too early for the breakfast buffet."

"En."

Jin Liwei continued observing the traffic below which was gradually becoming heavier despite the early hour. The sky was still dark, the city night lights glowing bright all around.

He was the most idle person in the suite.

Lin Yehan and Jiang Ying Yue had also woken up early. They left to explore the area around the hotel.

Just when room service delivered everyone's breakfast, Lin Yehan and Jiang Ying Yue also returned. They both carried plastic bags from a nearby convenience store.

"We bought some snacks and drinks to tide everyone over later today," Jiang Ying Yue said while showing the contents of the plastic bags. "Xiulan's schedule is full. If things are unexpectedly delayed, lunch and dinner might also be pushed back. It's better to have some food lying around to snack on."

Dom gave her a thumbs up.

Linda Chua also arrived while everyone started eating their breakfast. She didn't come empty-handed. She bought some homemade breakfast.

Dom sniffed. "This smells like Ma's cooking."

Linda rolled her eyes at her brother. "Are you a dog?" Then she smiled at Iris whose hair and makeup were still halfway done. "My parents woke up early this morning to cook all this food for you. Oh, Liam, you're here already?"

"En." Jin Liwei nodded at her while helping his wife cut her beef tapa1 and longganisa2.

Iris' eyes widened at Linda's words. "Auntie Reina and Uncle Domingo shouldn't have tired themselves. But I do love the food they cook."

Linda chuckled. "My parents are too excited to show off their cooking skills to you, Xiulan. Oh, and Liam, too. If possible, they want to cook all your three meals. But they know that you also want to explore other food options during your stay here in our country. I heard that Marjorie also plans to make another batch of her sticky rice desserts and have them delivered to you later."

"We must have another get-together with your family before we leave the Philippines," Iris said.

"For sure," Linda replied.

"Hey, hey!" Dom interrupted. "Where's my share?! Don't tell me Ma and Pa didn't prepare any share for me?!!!"

Linda once again rolled her eyes at him. "All you ever think about is food! Don't worry. Our parents prepared enough for everyone to enjoy! Now sit straight and eat properly! Where are your manners?!"

Dom shrank his head to his neck. All his sisters were as formidable as their mother when angered. Even Clover, the youngest, could be feisty when pissed off.

Although he was a young maiden at heart, Dom understood that he was still a little boy in his parents' and older sisters' eyes. It wasn't worth it to anger them or risk being scolded like a snivelling, naughty child.
