Later that evening, Jin Liwei arrived at MusicFest Tonight’s studio. The show’s Director He personally welcomed him and led him to a dressing room.

Jin Liwei stopped outside the door. He fished out his phone and took a photo of his wife’s name printed on a large card outside the door. It read "Iris Long" in stylish letters.

"Has my wife been here for long?" Jin Liwei asked even though Dom had already informed him about it earlier through text message.

He just wanted to test if the staff of this program had been treating his wife right.

Fortunately, Director He was a friendly acquaintance. He had been the showrunner of MusicFest Tonight for years. He had also been the director when Iris Long made a successful comeback after the car accident that left her comatose for a year.

Even though this release is so sudden, her fans have been lining up outside since this morning. Only a portion has been allowed inside, so there should still be a lot of her fans camping outside. We’ve set up some monitors outside to let them watch the live show."

"En." Jin Liwei nodded before opening the door.

"Boss, Sir Boss is here!" Dom exclaimed as soon as Jin Liwei and Director He entered the dressing room.

"You’re here," Iris mouthed with a smile.

She sat in front of the mirror while her makeup artist and hair stylist were doing their magic on her. A nail technician was also painting her nails at the same time.

Iris was only wearing a silk robe. The dress that she would use to perform later tonight was still hanging.

"Iris, how are you feeling?" Director He asked.

Iris gave him two thumbs up and a big smile.

"This stage will always welcome you, Iris. I wish you all the best. I also can’t wait to watch you shine again. Go ahead and finish getting ready. I need to check on Mr. Enrique Valdez next."

She gave him another thumbs up.

After Director He left, Jin Liwei grabbed a chair and sat near his wife without getting in the way of her glam team. This was a familiar sight as he had witnessed similar scenes before, but the intensity of everything tonight was on a different level.

He could feel his wife’s excitement. She was in her element.

Nobody actively chatted with her knowing that she had to sing an extremely difficult song later. They respected her need to preserve her vocal chords for tonight’s performance.

"By the way, Sir Boss," Dom said while waving a lint roller. "Thank you for asking those other companies to share Boss Iris’ comeback post yesterday. They made a huge wave on the internet for Boss."

"It’s nothing," Jin Liwei replied.

Indeed, he thought that it was nothing.

It was only a matter of instructing Jin Corporation’s social media manager to repost his wife’s comeback announcement. The other partner companies saw this as an opportunity to get on Jin Corporation’s good side, so they followed suit and shared Iris Long’s post.

Iris smiled at him.

His eyes softened.

"I do wonder, though, who made the decision to share the post on Long Industries’ side," the hairstylist said. "Long Industries rarely shares anything about Boss Iris’ showbiz career on social media even though they made her into a brand ambassador and used her fame."

Iris’ glam team all echoed the hair stylist’s grumbling. They were aware of how the Longs treated their Boss Iris before. Their resentment was as if they were the ones who had been mistreated. Their Boss Iris didn’t mind the past anymore, but they just couldn’t let it go just like that.

"Who else has the authority to make a decision like that?" Dom said. "There’s nobody else besides Boss’ father!"

The makeup artist paused applying faux lashes on Iris. "Is that true? Is President Long trying to curry favour with Boss Iris? Why else would he do that?"

The nail technician nodded his head. He, too, felt suspicious of anyone from the Long clan.

Despite Long Tengfei having developed a relatively good relationship with Iris Long in recent years, her people still thought that he was a wishy-washy parent who lacked the ability to discipline his children.

Just look at how fiercely his children were battling each other to become his successor.

Their Boss Iris had no choice but to join in the fray to protect her godson’s rights.

That damn Long Hui was a gigantic scum, but the father wasn’t a saint either. Long Tengfei contributed a lot to how his eldest son became such a huge a**hole.

Iris could sense her team’s hostility towards the Longs. She could only sigh but couldn’t speak.
