Chapter 1620: The Black Stars Will Always Be Here For You

The next day was a huge day for Iris Long. It marked her official comeback in showbiz.

Iris Long’s new single was released at exactly nine o’clock in the morning, not only in the country but also worldwide.

Iris Long had signed a contract with Enrique Valdez’s partner music label to distribute her music abroad while JJ’s record label would continue to distribute her music domestically.

The contract she signed was extremely favourable to her. It was rare to see this kind of generous contract for "new" artists testing the waters in the international scene. Most of it was due to her direct connection with the legendary hitmaker, Enrique Valdez. His status ensured that he had a lot of authority to influence how contracts were written.

Although her "Rebirth: Melodies" instrumental album did well in Europe, it still couldn’t compare to the scale of her new album.

Despite the short notice of this new single’s release, the Black Stars still did an excellent job in rallying together to support their Boss Iris’ new song.

Not only the domestic Black Stars but also the international Black Stars managed to organize viewing parties, both in person and virtual.

At a rented hotel hall organized by the original Black Stars, Zhou Mei’er (CaptainBlackStar) walked around to check on everyone. She was accompanied by Ming Li (LittlePhoenix) who was now a cute young woman.

"Oh, the posh aunties are here!" Ming Li exclaimed before skipping to the doors to greet Feng Wan (MrsLovePhantom) and her three best friends.

"My dear child, look at how fast you’ve grown up!" Feng Wan said while giving the cute young woman a warm hug.

"Thank you, Auntie Feng!" Ming Li beamed. "Big Sis Mei’er told me that you’re the one who rented this hotel hall for our fan club. Thank you, Auntie! It’s so nice to have our viewing party in such a high-class hotel."

"I’m glad you like it."

Ming Li also greeted the other posh ladies.

Si Xinyue (JJNumber1Fan), Bai Li (JJNumber2Fan), and Kung Mian (JJNumber3Fan) all greeted the cute young woman with great familiarity.

All of the posh ladies felt maternal towards Ming Li because they could say that they watched her grow up from a lively teenager into a cheerful young woman.

It was quite amazing to think that supporting Iris Long was the reason why people like them from all ages and walks of life got together in the first place.

Despite the short notice, Zhou Mei’er with the help of Feng Wan, still managed to organize a decent viewing party in such a nice location.

Other familiar faces came to today’s viewing party.

The increasingly busy Hou Liang (MonkeyFace) who was also now the CEO and main developer of the gaming company, Planet Monkey, came.

Accompanying CEO Hou was his friend, Wu Chen, a.k.a. the infamous iEatSlippers and also the CFO of Planet Monkey.

As soon as the other Black Stars saw Wu Chen (iEatSlippers), they all cheered as if seeing a celebrity. And indeed, Wu Chen was almost as famous as their Boss Iris due to his legendary notoriety in the realm of trolling as the former general of the Slippers Army.

Now that he had semi-retired from the Slippers Army, his legend remained.

Current members of the Slippers Army idolized him and followed in his footsteps.

Everyone greeted each other.

There were about a hundred Black Stars who managed to attend today’s viewing party.

A few minutes later, the hotel manager informed them that Iris Long had sent them a buffet-style catering service. The catering service staff quickly arranged the tables of food and drinks.

All the Black Stars cheered.

An LXC Studio representative delivered a surprise video message from Iris Long. All the Black Stars stopped what they were doing and waited in anticipation to watch the big screen ahead.

The screen flickered and showed Iris Long sitting in what looked like her music room at home. The grand piano seemed to sparkle under the gentle sunlight.

"Hello, my beloved Black Stars! This is Iris Long."

Louder cheers erupted at her greeting.

"Boss Iris, beautiful as always!"

"We miss you, Boss Iris!"

"Welcome back, Boss Iris!"

"Boss Iris, we love you!!!"

"Congratulations on your new single!"

The LXC Studio representative took a video of the Black Stars’ reaction.

Unfortunately, Iris Long’s video was pre-recorded so she couldn’t hear or see her fans’ enthusiasm. But she could still imagine because there was a clear pause after her greeting seemingly to give them time to react.

"I heard that you arranged a viewing party to watch the release of my new single," Iris said in the pre-recorded video. "And this isn’t the only one. I heard that there are viewing parties in other places, even in other countries. I can’t express the extent of my gratitude to all of you for your continuous support. Despite my extended hiatus, you all still patiently waited for my comeback. And now that it’s happening, you all rallied together.

"As a small token of my appreciation, I prepared some food and drinks for you. I hope that you enjoy them. And of course, I hope that you enjoy my new single.

"This song, ’I, The Dreamer’, along with the other songs that I wrote with the legendary hitmaker, Mr. Enrique Valdez, for my upcoming album, are very important to me. I poured my heart and soul into these new songs that would hopefully resonate with many of you. This isn’t just my journey alone. Without you, my beloved Black Stars, there will be no Iris Long. Your love and support means the world to me.

"I hope that you’ll continue to join me in this incredible journey of reaching the summit of our dreams. Thank you, everyone!"

The video ended.

Cheers once again erupted in the hotel hall. There were also quite a lot of Black Stars who wiped their teary eyes.

For the original Black Stars, it felt like they were watching their own child grow up and succeed. It gave them so much pride and fulfillment.

"The Black Stars will always be here for you!!!"
