Chapter 915: Chapter 263 Su Shijun’s Suggestion
"Sit."
"There are fruits on the table, help yourself."
"I still have some documents to deal with."
In the small office deep within the Two-Dimensional Evolution Lab, Zheng Qing followed Su Shijun’s instructions and sat obediently on a leather circular chair, separated by a large desk, watching Su Daxu handle the materials at hand.
Compared to Zheng Qing’s first visit, the bookshelves in the office seemed taller and sturdier. But what was more eye-catching was the giant filing cabinet behind Su Shijun, stuffed with piles of documents, which made the originally spacious cabinet look completely full.
Those documents must be data reports from the lab, Zheng Qing guessed, and couldn’t help but recall his own shadow that had been cut off, as well as the Black Cat that had been taken away by the relevant authorities.
Twinkling fruits adorned the vines entwined between the bookshelves and filing cabinet, with many large green leaves. Behind those leaves, many Sprites peeked out, curiously sizing up the strange Warlock sitting in the office.
For them, having a Warlock sit in this room was too rare, too few.
Of course, merely staring at the guest through the leaves of the vines wasn’t the Sprites’ way of hospitality, and since Zheng Qing had received their blessings long ago, he had high favorability with them. Thus, even though Su Shijun hadn’t instructed them to do so, a few bold Sprites presented a teapot, tea cups, and a warm towel, providing meticulous service for the young cost student.
Su Shijun, sitting behind the desk, saw this scene, her lips curling slightly, but she remained silent.
It didn’t take long.
After finishing the work at hand, Su Daxu finally breathed a sigh of relief, straightened up, and took off the pair of large red glasses that she always wore on her face and tied up her long hair. She casually snapped her fingers, closing the office door.
The young Warlock who had just taken a sip of tea choked violently—he still couldn’t get used to Su Shijun’s true appearance without any disguise.
"Cough, cough... Excuse me... uh, I’m terribly sorry!" The young cost student stood up awkwardly, hastily wiping the bits of tea that had sprayed onto the desk.
The Witch clicked her tongue, tapped her index finger lightly on the desk, and the tea splashed by the Warlock vanished completely.
The Sprites standing by quickly rushed up, laying out a fresh, clean tablecloth on the desk again, along with a newly arranged fruit plate and pastries; two Sprites held warm wet towels and a small mirror, approaching Zheng Qing to help him tidy up.
Su Shijun didn’t wait for Zheng Qing to be ready before she spoke.
"Had another nightmare?" She leaned back comfortably in her chair—her high-backed office chair had just turned into a spacious and comfortable lounge chair—holding a small bunch of grapes in her hand, she bit into one while lazily asking the question.
Because her mouth was full, her voice sounded a bit muffled, but it also made her voice seem more charming and alluring.
Zheng Qing caught a glimpse of the Witch’s leg dangling over the edge of the lounge chair and immediately shook his head vigorously.
"Composure, composure," he murmured softly, giving himself a reminder.
"There’s no one else around... and you’ve seen worse than this," the Witch said nonchalantly, waving her hand, indicating that Zheng Qing shouldn’t mind the details: "Let’s talk business, that loss-of-soul look you had when you came in... Did you have another nightmare?"
Mentioning this, Zheng Qing’s face suddenly darkened, and he nodded slightly.
"Still only remember a scene of red?" the witch asked another question.
"This time it seemed like there were many people talking; I just couldn’t make out what they were saying," Zheng Qing said, apparently feeling that his explanation was not comprehensive enough and added, "There were also faint voices before, all very vague, not as clear as this time."
"So are the voices you heard this time clear or vague?" Su Shijun asked, resting her hand on her forehead, helplessly.
"Very clear, someone was talking; very vague, I don’t know what they were saying." Zheng Qing awkwardly explained. Perhaps he too realized the contradiction in his words, but he really couldn’t explain it any clearer.
Because the feeling in his dream was just that contradictory.
"So, you mean there are no new symptoms?" Su Shijun tilted her head and looked at the young cost student.
Zheng Qing was silent for a few seconds and then nodded.
The witch sighed, sitting up straight.
"Then what’s the point of you coming to me... I have already given you all the checks and advice that could be done before. The symptoms that even the professional therapists at the school clinic can’t handle—do you expect me to solve them with a curse?" Su Shijun pointed to her own nose and then realized the gesture was inelegant, quickly lowered her hand, and added as if to cover, "Even if I am a Big Wizard."
Zheng Qing closed his eyes, took a deep breath, and then opened them, his gaze resolute as he looked at the witch.
Before he could speak, the witch waved her hands in succession: "I don’t know, don’t ask me, why can’t you find the answer yourself?"
Zheng Qing’s uplifting spirit suddenly deflated.
"I only need a little hint!" He raised his right hand, rubbing his thumb and forefinger together to indicate that he needed just that little, that tiny hint.
"I don’t have the slightest idea," Su Daxu chuckled dryly and then lowered her head to deal with a small piece of tiramisu in front of her.
Zheng Qing gloomily pulled his hand back.
This was not his first time having such conversations with Su Daxu.
He wanted to probe from Su Shijun something he didn’t understand before—like what exactly was the identity of Fei Rui that mouse, did she recognize Mr.Wu, did she know about Hui Zi Ji, and who was the Yellow Flowered Cat?
After the winter hunt ended, the young cost student had found out from some sources that it was the Yellow Flowered Cat who had commissioned Su Shijun to host the school’s Guardian Array. However, no matter how much he searched through the archives of the Book Mountain Library or asked around, he could never find a shred of information about that Flower Cat.
And the most likely place to know this information was the Wandering Bar—but with the school currently in a semi-closed state, given Zheng Qing’s situation, it was difficult to get permission from a professor to leave the school— even if he could get out, he still might not be able to find out anything. Because some veteran students who had left the school said that for some reason, the Wandering Bar recently had been closed for reorganization, and it was unclear when it would reopen.
Perhaps knowing that you’re being kept in the dark feels terrible.
After hesitating for a moment, Su Shijun finally suggested, "If I were you, I would just honestly finish the final exams... Other issues, take your time, they will eventually be resolved."
