Chapter 427: Chapter 96: The Soothsayer’s Warning_1

Until the Ouroboros Hunting Team finished their first full meeting, everyone left the Yota restaurant, Andrew Taylor remained enamored with the ’divine’ divination skills of his team’s Right Aide.

"That was truly amazing!" The Taylor family’s young master walked down the pedestrian street, casting glances around, muttering praises of Amber’s divination skills: "...I’ve only ever seen this level of divination with the old men at the annual festival held at the mansion..."

Amber walked quietly beside him, his eyelids drooping, half asleep.

Julian and Omega were just half a step behind the two of them.

"... Do you have some sort of special vision? Like a Witness, Observer or Prophet? Such talents are incredibly rare... why didn’t you go to Alpha Academy? With your talent, you could have had a place in Alpha Castle!"

Finally, Amber stopped in his tracks.

He opened his eyes, turning his gaze to Andrew.

So pure!

The young master of the Taylor family stared into those deep yellow eyes, quietly admiring them. They were like two translucent ambers.

"I don’t like Alpha." The young man in the yellow robe spoke in a soft voice: "Not the decaying castle, nor the wizards who live in it."

"Me neither." Andrew spread his hands and chuckled in agreement: "Including myself."

"I appeared in front of you partly because of Julian’s invitation... And there are some other reasons, probably curiosity... too many variables ... and causality are gathering around the hunting team you assembled... If I want to see more, I need to get involved and extract certain intermediaries from it."

"That’s how true diviners do it." Andrew gave a thumbs up, praising him, "Just like the mountain-ascending Mr. Kong Ming, dragon-slaying Yuan Tiangang, or Mrs. Lenoman who was strangled to death."

The last example was obviously a bit strange.

Following behind the two of them, Julian couldn’t help rubbing his forehead in a sigh— in actual fact, all three examples didn’t seem to be so great.

However, Amber didn’t seem to mind the young werewolf’s subtle offense, and explained leisurely:

"As for the special vision you mentioned, I don’t have it."

"Hmm, actually, not entirely true... My eyes are rather special. I can see the amount of causality entwined around a person, and occasionally see the ’aura’ some people emanate... ’The spirit of a dead tiger turns into a fossil in the earth, which can bring good luck and avoid disaster’ That’s how I came to my name."

"But whether it’s those lines of causality, or the occasional ’aura’, they’re all a blurry sensation which can merely help me verify my divination results. For everyday divination, they’re not very helpful."

"Aside from that, the incantations I use for divination, the manner in which I divine, there’s nothing special compared to any ordinary wizard at this university."

"But the others don’t have your exceptional abilities." Andrew couldn’t help but interrupt him.

"If from the age you started remembering things, you interpreted every person and event you encountered with the most basic divination spell every day... then when you grow up, your divination ability will grow into an instinct." Amber cheerfully gave his own answer.

An extremely unfriendly answer that would cause the vast majority of wizards to despair.

"If I had that kind of perseverance and determination, I would probably be seated among the councilors listening to those old men give their reports now." Andrew smirked at his self-mockery, giving the yellow-robed wizard an admiring look.

"So what do you see when you look up now?" Omega asked curiously.

Amber lifted his head, glanced at the bustling pedestrian street, and then let out a grunt. He immediately shut his eyes, lowered his head, and said hastily:

"Around the corner I can see a trickster... a little boy riding a broom will throw a copper coin into his hat."

"And when that little boy passes the milk tea shop, he’s going to hit the roll-up banner..."

"And then our captain will meet a familiar face."

Andrew raised an eyebrow.

"A familiar face?" He exclaimed: "The familiar faces I know wouldn’t be taking a stroll on the pedestrian street at this time."

As he said this, he took a long stride forward.

Rounding the corner, an old trickster with white hair was crouched at the foot of a wall, a greasy old hat set out before him.

Before long, a seven or eight-year-old boy whizzed past on a short broomstick; he cackled with glee, and as he rounded the corner, he casually flicked a copper coin into the old trickster’s hat.

The laughter had yet to fade when with a clatter, the little boy crashed into a roll-up banner in front of a milk tea shop and fell off his broomstick.

A red-robed witch quickly rushed down the stairs after emerging from the milk tea shop, and she helped up the tearful young wizard.

"Whoa, even though it’s surprising... it really is someone I know." Andrew’s footsteps came to an abrupt halt.

He fixed his gaze on the wizard walking out behind the witch, his eyes wide and mouth agape.

"Is that the freshman who won the Merlin Medal from Jiuyou Academy this year?" Omega peeked around curiously, hesitant, "I remember his name is Zheng Qing... Captain, are you acquainted with him?"

"Hmm." Andrew ambiguously replied, his face somewhat fluctuating.

"The demand/ request he made to that witch will be rejected." Amber silently watched the male and female wizards in front of the milk tea shop, and said in a low voice.

Andrew’s eyebrows rose, and a strange smile appeared on his face.

...

...

After Zheng Qing helped Jiang Yu lift up the little boy who fell, he watched him crookedly fly again with his broomstick.

"I think these magical flying tools should be banned on Pedestrian Street." Zheng Qing sighed and complained: "And the age of children riding broomsticks should also be restricted..."

"This matter has also been constantly discussed in the Wizard Alliance." Jiang Yu quietly commented on the side.

Today is Monday, after the afternoon class, Zheng Qing took his little elves with Jiang Yu to the Pedestrian Street to visit Doctor Du Zemu asking for assistance on checking the recovery situation of the little elves.

For the time being, the little elves who took the Sand Hour royal jelly medication are recovering quite well.

At least during the Moon Hunting, Zheng Qing doesn’t need to worry about prolonging their lives - he has got a pile of mess to worry about.

For instance, finding a suitable manager for the Absolution Hunting Team.

The abrupt invitation for Jiang Yu today, was to bring up this matter when they had the chance.

"Ha, our great Merlin Medalist planned to initiate his political career?" A mocking voice rang behind the two of them, interrupting Zheng Qing’s speech.

He turned his head in annoyance, then raised his eyebrows in surprise.

The short and fat werewolf from Alpha Academy?

"It’s none of your business." Zheng Qing replied coldly, signalling the beside witch to leave together.

"Perhaps." Andrew said in a smooth and greasy tone: "My diviner told me that you’ll be rejected by this beautiful lady today... if I were you, I would propose my unrealistic demands at a different time."

Amber coughed violently on the side.

Zheng Qing gave him a surprised look and then shook his head.

"Absurd." The young state-funded student grumbled, turning around to leave.

Jiang Yu frowned slightly but eventually didn’t say anything else and followed Zheng Qing.

...

...

"Stay away from him."

After watching Zheng Qing and Jiang Yu turn into the depths of the alleyway, Amber suddenly opened her mouth and warned in a hoarse voice: "...that young man is enveloped in endless blood color...but there’s no cause and effect variable entangled to him. Even cleaner than a newborn baby."

"Ha ha, a bookworm from Jiuyou, what trouble can he stir?" Andrew waved his hand casually and teased: "The red you see might just be the shadow of the red robe they’re wearing."

"Just like the Eye of the Storm." Amber murmured, lowering her eyelid: "The center of the storm is always the quietest... while we are swirled by the hurricane, we have no control of ourselves... this may lay the foundation of why there were so many variables when you formed the hunting team."

"It’s not that terrifying, is it?" Julian interjected as if to pep himself up: "If he is really that special, there are many wizards and diviners in the school, it would be impossible that they didn’t notice..."

"The first University is shrouded in a strong Guardian Array. In this Array, any anomaly would be suppressed...aside, how would you know that the big wizards in the school are not aware of his anomaly?"

Saying that, Amber lifted her eyelids and swept a glance at the people around.

Everyone fell silent.

The sun finally sank into the roof ridge of the tallest building not far away.

The dusk quickly faded.

A gust of cold wind rolled around the corner.

A few young silent wizards shivered involuntarily, wrapping their robes tighter around themselves.</p
