Chapter 1157: Chapter 219: The Sun and the Moon Shine in the Sky
According to the classification standards of the Mage Alliance in "Encyclopedia of the Wizarding World", Void Worlds are divided into four levels: Secret Garden, Secret Realm, Small Heaven, and Great Thousand, based on their area, law completeness, and strength.
From largest to smallest, Secret Realms are second last on the list.
Below the Secret Realm, there is the Secret Garden, like the Hunting Ground that Zheng Qing used during the newcomer competition, which is a Secret Garden. Above the Secret Realm are Small Heaven and Great Thousand Worlds. The universe where Blue Star resides belongs to a Great Thousand World.
Theoretically, the area of a Secret Garden World is within one thousand square kilometers, and the world already possesses a rather complete ecosystem that can accommodate Registered Wizards to exercise their powers. Whereas the area of a Secret Realm often spans tens of thousands of square kilometers, the laws of the world are more complete, allowing for distortions in space-time—comparatively speaking, if time or space distortions occurred in a Secret Garden World, that world would most likely shatter due to its inability to withstand the intensity of the fluctuations.
The small world before the Black Cat, although not large, clearly exhibited signs of space-time distortion, which is why, in Fei Rui’s clues, it was classified as a ’Secret Realm’ level.
"So this is the distorted space-time," Korma said, head tilted back, gazing up at the sky. Although his sentence contained a question, he spoke with an exclamatory tone.
The Black Cat also looked up, its pupils shining.
It, too, was seeing the sun and moon hanging in the sky at the same time for the first time, where the moon was slightly larger and brighter than the sun. Standing at the mouth of the cave and looking at that full moon even gave one the impression of being immersed in it.
However, Zheng Qing knew that was just his illusion, just like the beautiful ribbons floating between the sun and the moon had nothing to do with the colored clouds and mist; rather, they were a kind of manifestation of high-dimensional in low-dimensional under space-time distortion—this was a warning given to the young wizard adventure team by the Rat Immortal through Fei Rui.
"Really, the sun and the moon shine brightly above," the Black Cat finally said after a long pause, the only words that came to mind. Looking down at a tiny deep blue flower by its feet, it then added, "...and the flower smiles at me."
"Pfft," laughter that could not be contained bubbled out from beneath the Gypsy Witch’s mask.
The face of the Black Cat reddened, and it pressed a paw onto the flower’s head, pretending to have squelched the embarrassing feeling.
Korma did not participate in the interaction between the Black Cat and the little flower.
After a brief moment of reflection, the adventure team’s captain gathered his thoughts and instructed the two teammates to start work.
...
...
"No problems, absolutely no problems; it’s only the size of a palm, I’ve been in there four or five times myself, there’s nothing inside more dangerous than Fishmen anymore..." Inside San You Bookstore, Fei Rui was holding a green date, nibbling on it while spitting and assuring the Yellow Flowered Cat, "Aside from some high-dimensional fracture layers remaining in mid-air, there’s no threat exceeding the level of a Registered Wizard in the Secret Realm. I’m aware of their capabilities; they haven’t reached the level of flying around carelessly."
To the left front of Fei Rui sat the Rat Immortal on a step; to the right front lay the Yellow Flowered Cat on a soft cushion.
The two mice and one cat were currently seated around a table in San You Bookstore, and at the center among the three of them was a palm-sized white porcelain teacup, filled with amber-looking translucent liquid.
Within the depths of the liquid, one could faintly see a few sporadic and undulating plant roots.
This was a simple Divination Tracking Magic. When the Black Cat and the two witches entered the Silent Forest to explore the Secret Realm, the two mice and the Yellow Flowered Cat had been peering into their movements through this teacup.
But as the Black Cat and witches entered the crevice entrance between the old locust trees, the reflection in the teacup quickly disappeared. Clearly, the simple magic ritual on the desk could not support divination across worlds.
The long-neglected bookstore was full of dust and mildew. Neither the two mice nor the Yellow Flowered Cat were fond of doing household chores, nor did they have any magic for such tasks. Although they tidied up the desk they were resting under to some extent, they only brushed off the surface dust.
Any vigorous movement would stir up ’smoke’ clouds with each breath.
"... Saying it’s as big as a palm might be a bit of an exaggeration."
Next to Fei Rui, the Rat Immortal sitting on the stepstool twisted his whiskers, calmly correcting, "After all, it is a Secret Realm. Although it’s not huge, it’s still about five or six thousand square kilometers... Perhaps we should spray some water drops around the shop?"
As he spoke, the Rat Immortal waved his hand and pressed a newly risen dust cloud back down.
Yellow Flowered Cat, clutching a small piece of dried fish, watched the two mice in front of it with boredom: "You don’t have to promise me... In the end, if something goes wrong, it’s your two’s bad luck. I’m just a cat."
The two mice shivered in unison.
"Are you really not a wizard?" Fei Rui couldn’t help but ask.
The Yellow Flowered Cat flicked its whiskers, showing contempt for Fei Rui’s question: "As if anyone cares about your wizard identities... I happen to be a more noble existence than you losers."
"Please have a date, big boss." Fei Rui respectfully pulled out another green date from his bosom and offered it to the Yellow Flowered Cat: "Rest assured, big boss. With me in charge, nothing will go wrong."
"I don’t eat dates," the Yellow Flowered Cat rudely rejected Mouse King’s kindness, pulled out another piece of dried fish from under its belly, and started to nibble at it leisurely.
....
....
While Fei Rui was ensuring the Yellow Flowered Cat with a pat on his chest,
Inside the Secret Realm World,
the Black Cat was squatting next to a bunch of evergreens, looking distractedly at the surrounding scenery while being on lookout for the two witches.
Being the only team member without a Law book, without carrying Talismans, Magic Potions, Alchemy Instruments, and unable to wield a Brush too, its only duty while the two witches were busy testing and recording the basic data of this new Secret Realm, was to keep watch and ensure experimental data wasn’t toppled by some suddenly approaching rabbit.
Yes, rabbits.
As a supplementary gain from being on lookout, the Black Cat had already hunted two gray-skinned rabbits in this thicket. Maybe due to the world’s limitations, the rabbits here seemed particularly more foolish compared to those outside. Even a poor hunter like Zheng Qing, the pseudo cat, could capture and kill a grazing rabbit after a few pounces.
"Did you two bring any seasoning?" The Black Cat sat atop a rabbit, poking its head towards the busy witches: "Perhaps we could have roasted rabbit for lunch."
After finishing a task at hand, Korma turned around and warned the Black Cat: "Don’t eat anything here before I complete the toxicity analysis and magical nature analysis... unless you want to fall from grace for no apparent reason."
The Black Cat tugged its ear, its paw standing on the gray-skinned rabbit not knowing whether to move it away or not.
