Chapter 190: An AA-rank Welcome Wagon
Chapter 190: An AA-rank Welcome Wagon
Zain was on his way to the Hero Association branch.
His mind felt sharp and his body light after spending time with Velra.
He walked with confidence, his eyes scanning the busy streets.
When he reached the branch entrance, he pushed open the large doors and stepped inside.
Inside the lobby, he saw Blazren, the branch supervisor.
Blazren looked up from his desk and smiled.
"Welcome, Heavenly Demon," Blazren said.
Zain smirked.
"Thanks for the welcome," he said.
"It’s rare to see you welcoming me."
Blazren chuckled.
"I just wanted to tell you something important," he said.
"As an AA rank hero, you now have access to a special place."
Zain raised an eyebrow. "A special place?"
Blazren nodded.
"Yeah. It’s a place where only the best can train and share information."
"It’s not for everyone. Only those with your rank can enter."
Zain crossed his arms.
"Sounds interesting."
"What do I have to do?"
Blazren reached into a drawer and pulled out a small tattooing device.
"First, you’ll need a special tattoo."
"It acts as a key. Without it, you can’t get in."
Zain leaned in.
"A tattoo key, huh?"
Blazren nodded.
"It’s enchanted. Only those approved by the Association can use it."
Zain extended his arm.
"Then give it to me."
Blazren pressed the device to Zain’s forearm.
It hummed softly, and a small symbol glowed before settling into his skin.
"There. Now you’re marked."
"Don’t lose it."
Zain glanced at the mark. "Like I’d let that happen."
Blazren gestured toward the hallway.
"Follow me. I’ll take you to the teleportation place."
Zain followed him, eyes scanning the walls as they walked.
"So this special place... Who do I expect to see there?"
Blazren sighed.
"A lot of powerful people."
"Some of them are veterans. Others are fresh like you. But don’t get too cocky."
Zain smirked.
"Cocky? Me? Never."
Blazren stopped and turned to face him.
"Heavenly Demon."
"Even though you’re an AA-rank hero now, don’t get too arrogant."
"Everyone there is strong. Some of them are stronger than you."
Zain laughed softly.
"Alright. I’ll do what I can. Hehe."
Blazren shook his head.
"You’re a strange one. Come on, let’s get you there."
They reached a large metal door with glowing symbols across it.
Blazren placed his hand on the door, and it slid open, revealing a small teleportation pad.
"Stand there. It’ll take you straight to the special place."
Zain stepped onto the pad.
"Any last words of advice?"
Blazren sighed.
"Just... try not to make too much trouble."
"You rose through the ranks so fast. I hope you know what you’re doing."
Zain grinned."I always do so don’t worry about me."
Blazren crossed his arms.
"I’m serious. You’ve got talent. Don’t waste it."
Zain gave him a thumbs-up.
"Thanks. I’ll keep that in mind."
The pad glowed and Zain felt a pull as his body began to vanish.
"See you around, Blazren."
Blazren watched as Zain disappeared in a flash of light.
He shook his head.
"He’s fast but I hope he doesn’t cause too much trouble there."
He turned and walked back to his desk, the hall now quiet once again.
---
Zain appeared in the AA-rank gathering place.
It was a big hall, with bright lights and expensive decorations.
There were long red carpets, gold statues, and fancy furniture.
He looked around and noticed how empty it was.
Only five people were scattered around, talking in small groups or checking out the screens on the walls.
As he stepped forward, a small robot rolled up to him.
Its eyes glowed blue as it scanned him.
"Welcome to the AA-rank gathering place."
Zain crossed his arms, looking around. "Looks fancy."
The robot beeped.
"This place is designed for AA-rank heroes like yourself. I am your guide here."
Zain raised an eyebrow. "Guide, huh?"
The robot nodded.
"Yes. Let me explain the features here."
"First, if you need missions designed for AA-rank heroes, come to me."
"I have all the listings."
Zain smirked. "Missions? Anything dangerous?"
The robot’s eyes flickered.
"Some are very dangerous. Others are more about controlling situations."
"You will choose what suits you best."
Zain nodded slowly. "Alright. What else?"
The robot extended a small screen.
"I also provide information, but it comes with a price."
"Data is valuable here."
Zain laughed. "Of course it does. Nothing’s free, huh?"
The robot blinked. "Correct. This is also a marketplace."
"If you need special weapons, armor, or even healing items, come to me."
Zain tapped his chin. "A one-stop shop. Interesting."
The robot’s head turned slightly. "There is also a special arena here."
Zain’s eyes lit up. "Arena?"
The robot’s eyes glowed.
"Yes. For AA-rank heroes only."
"Some come to train. Others come to fight for real."
Zain grinned. "Fighting heroes, huh? Sounds fun."
The robot continued.
"Though you are heroes, you are still human. Sometimes conflicts happen."
"The arena lets you settle them without causing problems outside."
Zain laughed. "So it’s like a place to get all that anger out."
The robot nodded. "Exactly."
"It keeps the peace outside. You fight inside."
Zain glanced around again.
"So this place is like a luxury club, a mission center, a market, and a fight pit all in one."
The robot beeped. "Correct."
Zain smirked. "I like it."
He looked at the robot. "Anything else I should know?"
The robot’s head nodded.
"Yeah, rules. As I said before, the arena is where you handle your problems."
"In this lounge, you cannot fight."
"This is a place for heroes to relax, talk, and work together."
Zain folded his arms. "So no fights here? Even if someone pisses me off?"
The robot’s eyes glowed.
"No fights here. Take it to the arena."
"And remember your identity as an AA-rank hero."
"People look up to you. Lower-rank heroes need to respect you."
Zain smirked. "Respect, huh?"
The robot beeped. "Yes. Do not do anything bad here."
"If you want to do something, do it in silence. Or take it to the arena where it belongs."
Zain nodded slowly. "Interesting."
The robot whirred softly.
"Also, do not use your abilities in this lounge unless it’s for a demonstration or teaching."
"The walls and floors are expensive."
Zain laughed. "Got it. I’ll keep my power to myself."
The robot continued.
"And remember: no stealing, no lying to the system, and no messing with the market."
"Those rules keep everything running smoothly."
Zain grinned. "Fine. I’ll be on my best behavior."
