Chapter 675: 675. Old Man Qian is here!_1 Chapter 675: 675. Old Man Qian is here!_1 Big White now really had some heft to it, feeling as substantial as a bag of rice, likely weighing around twenty to thirty jin.

But Qiaoqiao embraced it with glee, only setting it down when they had come down from the back mountain.

Big White didn’t walk away but simply flapped its wings and made a loud “Goose Goose Goose” clamor as if urging on.

Qiaoqiao stroked its slender neck: “Wait, okay!”

Then he quickly dashed upstairs, opened the door, and grabbed Datian: “Let’s go, let’s go! We’re going for a ride!”

Datian hadn’t been beaten up for several days and under the pleasant mood, he visibly gained some weight, his fur becoming much smoother.

In Qiaoqiao’s grip, he resembled a particularly fine and delicate golden cotton ball, offering no resistance whatsoever.

Until Qiaoqiao stuffed him into the pocket on her chest–the coveralls she wore had a deep front pocket that allowed Datian to awkwardly prop himself up with his paws on the pocket’s edge and stand on tiptoe, revealing his golden, fluffy head.

Qiaoqiao giggled, feeling exceptionally cheerful. She then swiftly touched the soft golden fur with her finger before hurrying downstairs, grabbed the car keys, and headed straight for Daju’s den:

“Daju, fancy a ride today? Or would you prefer to leave the babies behind?”

Daju had a new home with an owner, but still carried an air of haughty pride, leisurely grooming his paw on his cat bed, ignoring her completely.

But… even his paw licking was so cute!

Qiaoqiao couldn’t help but pinch the pink, puffy, fluffy paw pads, which made Daju lightly slap her hand away before standing up elegantly and rubbing against her legs.

A few kittens wobbled on their tiny legs at her side, apparently having had their fill that morning.

Looking over at the cat bed, there was a half-eaten fish head…

Qiaoqiao immediately felt a tad guilty as she caught Song Tan talking to Professor Song–having cats from her own fish pond eat a couple of fish shouldn’t really be considered stealing, right?

She mounted the tricycle, with Daju, well-accustomed by now, effortlessly leaving her babies and jumping into the back. Then, mimicking Datian, Daju skillfully clung to the edges of the basket.

Before she saw anything else, Big White came bustling over, flapping its wings and honking, and then Qiaoqiao scooped it up to join Daju in the back of the cart.

Qiaoqiao happily took her seat and stretched out a hand to the four treasures eagerly looking up from under the eaves:

“Duoduo, you and Yingjun hop on! I’ll take you for a ride; Princess and Cang Er can run alongside the car.”

After she finished speaking, she twisted the handle, and the vehicle made a faint starting sound before swiftly heading out of the courtyard!

“The breeze feels so refreshing!” Qiaoqiao said joyously as they circled the bamboo grove.

“Woof!”

“Woof woof!”

The two large dogs at her side quickly gave chase, their graceful figures leaping through the air.

Back in the basket, two dogs, a goose, and a cat were packed to the brim.

Only Datian had a special place in Qiaoqiao’s heart and now clung to the edge of her pocket, his tiny beady eyes brimming with pride!

Ah, Datian, I am indeed the most beloved by everyone.

And this was the daily joy of Qiaoqiao since getting a new vehicle!

The multicolored car’s white canvas top trembled slightly with every bump on the road, like big cotton candy clouds floating before her eyes.

The roadside grass, still wet with dew, and the distant mountains shrouded in mist, the morning breeze brought a touch of moisture and coolness to her face.

The sun was about to rise, the air growing warm, as if the steam also carried a humid heat. But seeing Qiaoqiao’s spirited expression made everything seem so wonderful.

Just as she was about to head back, her phone suddenly rang.

Song Tan’s voice came from the other end:

“Qiaoqiao, don’t hurry back. Head towards the village entrance. We have a new chef arriving soon; can you pick him up?”

“A new chef? Is he working up in the mountains?”

Qiaoqiao was curious.

“Yeah,” Song Tan didn’t hide it, “Otherwise, it’s tough for Seventh Uncle to make so many dishes at his age.”

Over the phone, there could still be heard the faint arguing of Seventh Uncle, saying things like “he’s still young”, or “he’s nimbler with the pot than the young ones”…

But Qiaoqiao wasn’t listening anymore.

He hung up the phone, twisted the handle, and the whole car went whooshing forward again, thoughtfully telling Princess and Cang Er beside him, “If you’re tired, jump on too!”

“Woof woof!”

“Woof woof!”

The two dogs ran even more energetically–trained dogs that they were, how could they be tired after just this little bit of running?

They chased each other around the car. Soon, the group had arrived at the entrance to the village.

I wonder if the new chef will be more skilled than Seventh Uncle?

No sooner had this thought flickered through Qiaoqiao’s mind than he saw a taxi stop at the village entrance.

After a while, a spry old man exited from it, along with a short, plump but youthful man, who went to the trunk to retrieve two large suitcases.

Qiaoqiao blinked:

“Are you here to pick them up?”

The man who had just paid the taxi fare turned his head in surprise and said, “Huh?”

What kind of question was that? He didn’t even know who this young man in front of him was; why not introduce oneself first?

But before he could ask, Qian Tianfu was clearly taken aback by Qiaoqiao’s grand gesture.

The fair and handsome boy, the colorful and tender car, and the adorable Yun Duo on top…

Ah, this.

Qian Tianfu originally had a competitive mindset, but now, seeing that stubborn old man Song had gone to such lengths to arrange a welcome for him, he suddenly felt less competitive.

Even somewhat embarrassed, “I’m quite old, it would be too embarrassing to ride this…”

“Honk honk–” Big White stretched its neck, poked its head out from the back of the car, and eyed the master and apprentice duo in front of it with its beady eyes.

However, when Qian Tianfu took a closer look, he not only saw a large goose but also a chubby orange cat, and two injured dogs that seemed quite fierce.

He fell silent all at once.

Yet Qiaoqiao felt nothing, only looking with difficulty at the back of the car:

“Sorry, Grandpa Qian, the car is a bit small; it seems there’s not enough room to sit–how about you hold Big White?”

After thinking, he corrected himself, “Big White is a bit fierce, so maybe hold Daju. Daju is soft and nice to hold!”

Daju: Meow?

“Ah, Daju is not happy either…”

Qiaoqiao became troubled.

But after thinking for a long time without finding a solution, he could only turn his questioning gaze back to Qian Tianfu, who had just spoken.

Qian Tianfu: …Now he really felt embarrassed.

In the end, the suitcases of the two men were placed in the back of the car. After all, the shabby cement road really didn’t suit their exquisite wheels.
