Chapter 79: Your Lover’s secret

She flinched on meeting with his cold gaze emanating from the metallic blue colored eyes and stepped back.

"I..."

He cut in before she could say anything.

"Why are you here?"

She blinked in surprise. She knew that for some reason he was mad at her but he didn’t even look surprised that she had returned. It looked like he wasn’t even happy to see her.

She saw Dora coming downstairs and she locked eyes with her before she backed away from Daniel.

"Excuse me." Without waiting for a single reaction from him, she left to prepare breakfast. As she went downstairs, her eyes met with the cold ones of Dora.

Daniel just stood there, hands fisted by his sides unable to believe who he’d just seen. All morning he just had this feeling that she wasn’t as far gone as she thought and just before he had seen her backing him while talking to Royce, that scent of her had brainwashed him and led him to mindlessly stand before her.

It was when she had slammed Into him, did he regain his senses and asked the first thing that came into his mind. But one minute, she looked like she was dumbfounded and another minute she was ready to leave his prescence.

"Before you jump into conclusions and make rash decisions, maybe you could listen to why she changed her mind about returning." Kelvin quickly said just when he turned to grab her hand.

Daniel sighed and watched as she hurriedly went downstairs, his gaze not even falling on the girl beside him.

"Danny," Dora folded her arms with a frown. "I demand to know what you were so busy with last night that we didn’t even get to share a single moment at the party."

Daniel’s lazily looked down to see who was talking. He was anything but willing to talk to her. However on trailing his eyes down her body, he asked in a cold voice.

"Why are you still in your pyjamas."

Brittany scoffed and swished her dark hair over her shoulders.

"Because I choose to be in it. Besides I can shower later."

She smirked at the irritated look on Daniel’s face and folded her arms.

"You don’t think I was joking about staying here, did you?"

"Do you really expect me to believe that sh*t. About staying and me making you my Luna?"

"What other choice do you have?"

He threaningly stepped forward and her hands dropped, eyes widening in panic as she stepped back.

"I could kill you." He didn’t look like he was joking and she almost passed out at the shades of blue swirling fiercely in his eyes.

She suddenly folded her arms and stepped forward so that they were squared off facially, their faces just inches apart. He was taller than her by a head but she raised her chin up to meet with his eyes.

Her green eyes lowered, staring at his lips for a while before it raised to level with his eyes which was boring a hole to hers.

"Then maybe, I should just expose your lover’s secret to everyone and see what happens after that."

"You’re the most immature person I have ever come across." He hissed at her, his hot breath fanning her face, his eyes filled with irritation and hate.

Dora just smirked and raised a hand, running it down from his shoulders to his chest, spreading her arms over it before grabbing the colar of his shirt, pulling him closer so that their lips were almost touching.

"Well, you’re about to make this immature person your Luna."

He wrung her arms off his shirt and after glaring at her, he turned away without a word.

Dora just smiled before heading back to her room. As she did, she saw Barton coming downstairs and held the other side of the railings, pretending not to see him.

Barton feigned ignorance as well and they successfully passed by each other before releasing the breaths they never realized they’d been holding ever since they saw each other.

Barton squeezed his fist. He had heard the conversation between her and his cousin and could never had imagined she would stoop this low just to be his Luna.

He headed straight for his twin’s room.

He peeked his head inside to see Royce packing while Brittany sat on the bed, smiling a bit at something he said. When she noticed him, he finally walked in.

Royce was startled to see him but after exchanging pleasantries, he went into the bathroom to check if they were missing anything, deliberately leaving them alone.

"How are you?" He asked as he sat next to her on the bed, leaning in to hug her.

He leaned back and they stared at each other. It was like looking into the mirror except one had longer hair and a more feminine look to her facial features while the other had a chiseled jaw and an air of masculinity around him.

"I’m fine. What... about Daniel and Talia?" She asked. She was so devastated last night that she had forgotten about them.

"Talia is okay... but ... Daniel..." He hesitated, unsure of whether to tell her or not.

Brittany frowned, seeing the familiar look in her twin’s eyes. He looked like he was contemplating on telling her something.

"What about Daniel? Barton talk to me."

Barton looked in the direction of the bathroom. Even though Royce wasn’t the type to eavesdrop, he wasn’t certain about telling her, especially since werewolves hearing ability was top notch.

"Daniel’s fine but there’s something I got to tell you later,okay?" He inclined his head to the bathroom while talking and she understood why he didn’t want to tell her here.

"Okay."

"Aren’t you coming downstairs to eat?" Barton asked, holding her hand in his.

Brittany shook her head.

"Royce won’t let me. He asked an Omega to bring in the food."

"Okay."

"Just tell Mum, I’m a bit tired from all the partying and I couldn’t get much sleep so I’m sleeping in. I don’t want her coming upstairs to find me like this. What if she asks about Naomi?"

Suddenly the door opened and Naomi casually walked in with a tray of steaming fried eggs, toast and a jug of orange juice.

Brittany froze, unable to believe who she was seeing.

"N-Naomi?"
