A slapped a picture down on the table and while Theresa just kept her arms folded and glanced at the picture with half closed eyes from where she sat, Angela leaned forward at the edge of the seat to check who sat in the picture displayed on the table.

"That’s Gamma Philips and his daughter." She gasped with a knowing look when she handed it to back A who didn’t even stutter as she said the next words.

"They’ll be our first targets."

"What?" Angela yelled, but Andrew felt that she sounded more curious as to why than shocked.

"I have spies scattered around the place, and I was informed that their Luna would be present at the party meant for his daughter, Emily." A said, casually tossing another picture on the table which was of Naomi at the Luna naming ceremony weeks ago.

Angela grabbed the picture and scowled at the sight of Naomi before tossing the picture aside. Theresa had not yet moved and was just sitting there with her arms folded, eyes unblinking.

Andrew had stuck to standing behind her, following her silent orders of not saying a word as well but listening attentively.

"The Luna who happens to be one of the main targets?" Angela pointed out. "Why can’t we just kill her since we have the chance. What has Gamma Philips and his daughter got to do with this?"

"I know she’s our main target... And we can’t just kill her off..." A snuck her predatory tongue out and licked her lips like there was a stain on it, and when she pulled it back, Andrew’s blood ran cold when he saw she had licked a blood stain off her lips. Why was he noticing this now? Maybe because the entire time the veins, and eye color had caught his attention that he hadn’t noticed her other features.

"We need to start small... And leave our mark. By the time we’ve killed three influential families, then the almighty Luna and her husband will take us seriously. The Luna would obviously be armed with security, and she... She is a weapon herself. And since I’m not going to be there...."

"Then what will you be doing while we do your dirty work." Theresa cut in and even though Angela shot her a warning look from the side, she still maintained eye contact with A who only smiled.

Before Theresa knew it, something landed on her lap, and when she looked down, it was an invitation card.

"Gamma Philips daughter will be holding a party to celebrate her eighteenth birthday in the next three days. This is the invitation, and.." she dug in her drawer and the next second threw something towards Andrew who caught it clumpsily, almost dropping to the floor. "you’ll be going with him."

Andrew looked down and his blood froze up on seeing a silencer in his hand. Black and shiny, it sat in his grip threateningly. F*ck, he had never touched a gun in his life, and not only was he holding one now, probably loaded, he was going to kill someone with it.

Theresa had her mouth open, about to protest maybe when something landed on the table with a thud and the words got stuck in her throat when she saw the bag which landed on the table fall over and cash toppled out.

"This is just advance payment." A leaned back to resume smoking, blowing spirals of smoke out her nose and mouth, glancing up as she relaxed in her chair. "Full payment will be made after the job is done."

"Get the bag." Theresa ordered Andrew. Placing the gun in the pocket of his jeans, he grabbed the bag off the table and his heart thumped hard against his rib cage when he felt the weight of the bag.

This was just advance payment!?

He however hardened his jaw to contain his emotions as he took his position behind Theresa, holding the bag to his chest.

"I don’t care what you do with your money, but if you’ve forgotten, then I’ll remind you. You’ll be attending a birthday party, and even though your mission is to kill the celebrant and her father, you have to blend in at the party."

"Put on a fucking dress and Cinderella shoes and I’m good to go." Theresa confidently answered.

"Maybe take off that pirate mask off your face and get a wig. You’re attending a birthday party for an eighteen year old and not a Halloween party for a seven year old." A said and Angela bit her lip on hearing her words, wondering if A had gone too far. Didn’t she want to know why she was wearing an eye patch in the first place?

Theresa suddenly took off the eye patch and threw it down on the table before them.

"Yeah. I’m sure it will be much better if I head to the party looking like this, don’t you think?"

Andrew was standing behind Theresa, so he dared not try to look because he would make it obvious, but on seeing the horrifying looks on their faces, he wondered just how bad the eye looked right now.

"I can’t heal the scar even if I tried, but I can heal your eyes and help you regain full eye sight." A stated with a smug devilish smirk, like she was expecting Theresa to beg her next.

But as much as Theresa was desperate enough to do so because she badly didn’t want to get stuck disfigured like this, she would rather stab a knife through her other eye and render herself blind than beg her.

"Well, since that’s that." Theresa got up, her chair screeching backwards. "We’ll be heading out to find a hotel in this dump and spend the next three days getting groomed for a party. Anything else?"

A just smirked without a word.

"Just one thing..."

"And what’s that?"

"I’d watch my tone when speaking to someone like me, Theresa." Theresa fumed at her words, but suddenly, she felt a numb pain in her skull and instinctively grabbed onto the sides of her head with her palms, wincing.

Angela and Andrew turned apprehensive immediately, but none dared move from their spots when they saw the calm but lethal look in A’s eyes.

"You’re just a mere hybrid" she continued. "A human more likely." She lowered her chin, her eyes turning crimson red like blood. "I can kill you with just a single thought."
