Chapter 205: Hakura

Naomi hesitated for a while, contemplating whether to go in or not.

"Do you want company?" He suddenly asked, leaning down on her small frame with a ludicrous smirk.

She redenned as she grabbed her towel from her bag, including some other things.

"No. Thank you. I’ll be fine on my own."

Daniel chuckled as she ran towards the bathroom like a little girl

Beta Royce, Talia and Brittany got out of the car.

"Bye guys." Hakura waved from the passenger’s seat, smiling for a reason only known to Cardin who was seated in the driver’s seat.

They awkwardly waved before rushing back in, wondering why Cardin was suddenly in a bad mood.

Cardin gritted his teeth before he pounced on the accelerator, speeding up ahead.

"You’re the princess, right? Why couldn’t you call your ’minions’ to come take you back home. I’m sure you could have teleported home yourself."

Hakura shrugged, a devilish look in her eyes.

"You’re not wrong."

The car screeched to a halt before he finally turned to her, growling with rage in his eyes.

"I don’t know what you aim at achieving with all these Hakura, but I’ve made it clear to you, and I won’t hesitate to do it again. You can’t force someone to like you. Me especially."

She raised a brow.

"Says you."

"What?"

"You think I don’t know what’s been going on with you and Talia and Jephthah? I know you have some weird obsession for her, and you know she already has someone else, but it doesn’t just bother you, does it?"

"It did, but I’ve come to accept that you can’t expect someone to love you back just because you love them." Realization suddenly dawned in Hakura’s eyes when he said those words. "I don’t when or how... but this has to stop Hakura. I’m an Alpha and you’re a princess, we are the law. We are the ones who were passed down this law from generations to generations that a witch and werewolf shouldn’t have anything mutual between them. I’m not willing to, and so should you."

There was silence as he started the vehicle before zooming off again, and the silence remained even when they arrived at the border separating the witches and werewolves.

As Hakura stepped out of the car, she banged the door and walked away immediately, not giving Cardin a chance to say anything.

He sighed before turning on the ignition, zooming off.

He did what was right.

After all, he didn’t like her. Why would he? It’s not like she had any likeable qualities right?

So why was there a lingering pain in his chest?

Koan pulled away, leaving Nancy to catch her breath before trailing his fingers up her chin to cup her face.

"How about next week?"

Nancy panted slightly, running her tongue over her slightly swelled up lips before saying in a breathless voice.

"I guess so... hey what if we do a collaboration? With Daniel and Naomi? We could fix the date of the Luna naming ceremony and make it like

.. two in one. What do you think?"

"I’ll call Daniel tomorrow then and we can discuss this. It isn’t something we can just plan outright and expect them to go along with it. After all, I’ve already marked you." With that, he leaned down to inhale her scent.

Nancy burst out laughing from the ticklish sensation.

"Why can’t you just call him now?" She said In between chuckles.

Koan heartily grinned before parting her legs with his knee.

"I’m busy."

Talia almost flew into bed from her bathroom when she heard her phone ring. There were about a billion messages and calls from her friends, co-workers which she had yet to reply, but it had to wait.

Jephthah was calling.

Flipping her wet strands of hair to her side, she crossed her legs as she put the phone to her ear.

"Talia?"

She frowned slightly.

"What are you doing with Jephthah’s phone?"

"He’s in the bathroom, but I just needed to talk to you. He said he was going to call, so I decided to say this before he did."

"Okaaaay??"

"Jephthah... " He hesitated for a while. "Jephthah said you were going to Paris next week and won’t be coming back here till after one year."

"Yes. That is correct. So?"

"When he calls, I need you to ask him to spend the first one month of your stay in Paris with you."

There was silence over the phone for so long that John had to speak up again.

"Talia? Are you there?"

"Why can’t he just ask me that himself?"

"He doesn’t know about this."

"So? How are you sure he’ll even want to. This is Paris we’re talking about. Miles away from home."

John sighed.

"Because you’re Talia."

A blush crept up on Talia’s face before she rolled her eyes and stuttered.

"When do you guys have your Alpha naming ceremony?"

"In one month."

"So... before he’s turned full Alpha, you want him to stay here in Paris? With me?"

"It will be like a vacation."

"Why are you saying this? You’re being overly considerate and creepy If you ask me."

"It’s just that when we’re both Alphas, I won’t be around in the pack. Most times, I’ll be at my dad’s office. So everything will be left behind for him to do, and well... Jephthah can’t be stressed under any condition. That’s why... "

"Why? What will happen?"

John bit his lip, wondering whether to tell her, but he just kept mute.

No. Jephthah would have told her if he wanted her to know.

"I just want us to be on the same page. I recommended a vacation for both of us before we turn Alphas, and you were the only one I could think of."

"Wait... you’re coming too?" She had a horrid expression.

John suddenly smirked.

"I wouldn’t want to be a third wheel In whatever you two have going on... but if you insist... "

"I’m not insisting on anything!" She snapped and he rolled his eyes.

"Will you do it?" He asked.

"Whaaaat- ever. Where will you spend your vacation, John?"

"Somewhere that has beaches, half-nude women, hotels and alcohol."

Talia rolled her eyes.

"You just will never change will you?"

He chuckled and she smiled before the call ended.

While waiting for Jephthah to call, she went about answering messages, and ended up seeing a new message from her manager, Stella Rose. It was a new timetable of her photoshoot scheduled next month, which meant she had to be in Paris in five days!!!

"I haven’t even got anything ready yet!" Talia groaned before dropping on her bed, arms sprawled out, sighing.

Soon, her phone starts to ring.

Without hesitation, she picked it up.

"Talia?"

She smiled, closing her eyes.

"Yeah?"

"Um... H- How are you?"

"I’m fine I guess, and you? Are you home yet?" She had to keep the conversation natural.

"Y- Yes.. Um.. Yes I’m fine too."

There was silence for a while before she spoke up.

"So news just came in from my manager. I’ll be heading to Paris in five days."

She heard him sigh miserably at the end.

"Aren’t you happy I’m leaving?" She sounded pitiful.

"I am..."

She suddenly smirked.

"So you’re happy I’m leaving??"

Jephthah’s eyes suddenly widened in realization.

"N- No that’s not what I meant!"

Talia suddenly chuckled and he turned red when he realized she was teasing him again.

"Anyway... when’s your Alpha naming ceremony?"

"In a month." He stammered slightly.

"What will you be doing in one month?"

"I dunno. John said we could go on a vacation or something. I don’t see the need for one though."

She rolled her eyes. Typical Jephthah.

"Well, if you are serious about it, would you like to spend your one month vacation with me In Paris?"

Jephthah turned red again.

"W- What?! Really?"

Talia smiled, noting the happiness in the tone of his voice.

"I’m serious. Will you come?"

"I’ll drive us down to airport. I’ll definitely be there."

"Okay. Great." She was happy too.

When Naomi stepped out of the bathroom, she was fully dressed in Pyjamas, not risking the chance of coming out in a towel.

She froze when she sees Daniel on the bed, holding up his phone and reading something off screen.

"I’m going to check on Axle."

"Sure." He simply replied and she left.

Few minutes later, she retuned and shut the door behind her, feeling her hand clench and unclench nervously around her PJs.

He didn’t look up, and she didn’t say anything, but quietly crawled up the bed, slipping her legs into the duvet as she lay down.

"Need more pillows?" He asked as she faced the other way, nestling her head on a pillow, slightly wiggling her legs underneath the duvet, placing them on the pillows down there which sooted her toes

"No. I have enough. Goodnight." She mumbled before closing her eyes.

Daniel finally dropped the phone before turning to corner her at the side of the bed, slipping his legs into the duvet before curling his arm around her, spooning her from behind.

Naomi’s eyes widened and she felt her heart do flips, especially when his hot breath inched towards her ear, causing her toes to curl up on the pillows.

However, she dared not move.

"Goodnight." He mumbled back, and she closed her eyes and stayed like that till she heard his soft snores. She slept off immediately after, naturally snuggling into his embrace.
