HER ALPHA'S CARNAL SINS -
Chapter 108: Blood
Chapter 108: Blood
"You do know we’re not heading to the mall, right? We’re heading up to the mountains where we send out hunters every month to hunt down dangerous, wild animals. It isn’t a place for someone like you."
"Pity. I’m still going."
"I won’t stop you," He suddenly said, to the amazement of Liliana and Raiden. "However, I don’t want in a situation where any of us have to play knight in shining armor. You’re following us? Fine. But don’t be dead weight. If we have to fight against rogues, then fight alongside us. No one’s going to stop in the middle of a fight to come help you, do you understand?"
"Koan." Raidne protested. Wasn’t this much? It was obvious she didn’t have much experience fighting even if she has trained.
"Do you understand?" Koan asked again.
"Yes. I’m not going to run back into the house like the scraped little girl you believe I am."
Raiden and Liliana stared at her with admiration, a hint of worry in their eyes.
"Okay then," a wry smile crawled up on his lips as he leaned away from where he stooped to her height. "Let’s go."
Raiden motioned for the pack warriors to start driving out while they’ll follow from behind in their own car.
There were three pack warriors in the car driving ahead.
Koam got into the driver’s seat while his Beta and Liliana got at the back, Nancy taking her place at the Passenger’s seat beside Koan.
He ignored her and decided to start up a conversation with Raiden on how the meeting with the elders went while the girls stared out the window.
Nancy feared Koan would hear her heartbeat because it was pounding hard against her rib cage, threatening to burst out of her confinement.
She was scared, fully aware that where they were headed for wasn’t a child’s playground. However, she didn’t want to give him the satisfaction of seeing her nervous.
After an hour and some minutes of driving, they finally reached the mountains. They would have to climb up by foot, so they began climbing out of the car one by one.
The pack warriors’ car was left behind, it meant they had gone up without them.
They made their way up, careful not to fall or slip as they climbed up the mountain using the stiff rocks as a new pathway for their legs.
Any slip up and they could crash down to the concrete floor below and die.
Small debris fell, footsteps crunching against rocks echoing as they quietly climbed up, no one in the mood to speak.
Nancy made the mistake of looking down and gulped, seeing how far up they’ve climbed. She stilled In fright and didn’t move until Raiden held her from behind, snapping her from her thoughts, forcing her immobile legs to start moving.
Koan and Liliana were Infront.
"What’s this?"
They all turn to Raiden who just rubbed his thumb over something on the mountain wall next to him.
When he raised his thumb for them to see, there was a black dust stain on it.
"Smells like smoke." Raidne announced
"Smoke?" Liliana turned to Koan. "Fire?"
"How possible?"
"Let’s head up." Raidne suggested and their pace increased, however they were careful not to miss a step as the path they followed was very narrow and more debris fell which meant that the mountain wasn’t very steady.
Once they reached the top, they saw the Pack warriors bent over the floor, their hands dipped in something.
When they got closer, they saw their hands were stained with a familiar red liquid.
Blood.
Several parts of bodies were scattered all over the place, some heads which they recognized as the hunters.
Their suspicion was confirmed.
They had been killed, but the question was who? What or who had killed them?
As they walked around, trying to look for little clues that could help them out while Nancy stood at the side just watching, not wanting to interfere, she saw a larger patch of the same black dust smoke particles Raiden had seen.
She quietly bent over it and ran two of her fingers across, only to sniff it, her other hand balanced on her knee.
As she did, she looked up and saw something from afar, her azelea colored eyes brimming with an unfathomable familiarity, shades of pink swirling in her eyes as she slowly stood.
Whatever she spotted afar was getting bigger and bigger, until her doubts about it being a common bird cleared up completely.
She turned to the others. They didn’t look like they had seen what she had spotted.
Before she could warn them, Koan said to the hearing of everyone, throwing down something he had picked up.
"I don’t think this was done by the rogues. There are no signs that they could have done it."
"Then what could have," Liliana had a grave look on her face. "These were our hunters. Specially trained and chosen to hunt down the wildest beast that have ever possibly existed. Whatever might have killed the previous set must have killed the recent one ... "
Nancy turned and could clearly see what has been advancing forward.
It was shimmering afar but had a dark aura, emanating a cold throat choking killing intent that made Nancy step back on recognizing what was flying towards them.
"Kitsune." She whispered, her lip trembling.
Everyone heard her and turned, only to see what she had focused on up ahead.
"What the f**k Is that." Raiden said , coming to stand beside Nancy.
Nancy suddenly grabbed his hand and made him face everyone like she did.
"We need to leave, now!"
"So soon?," Nancy gasped and turned, only to see a blue haired beauty with dark gold eyes, floating above the mountains, looking down. on everyone like they were ants. "But I just got here." She sneered with a taunting smirk.
"It can’t be." For the first time, Koan had an actual expression on his face.
Shock and horror.
It was hard to believe that an extinct creature he didn’t believe ever existed was floating just above him.
He glared at Nancy.
How did she suddenly recognize the creature if she wasn’t even born when it existed?
