Help!! This Girl Is A Yandere!!! -
Chapter 23: Tell Me!
Chapter 23: Tell Me!
"Carry me? Look, I may not look like it, but I’m at least 50 kilograms. It’d just slow us down."
"Your second reason, I understand. However, the first I disagree with."
"Why is that?" Xavier asked, raising an eyebrow.
"You’ll soon find out."
"Fine, do what you want," Xavier said, waving his hand.
"Then, let’s go."
Saying that, Samuel activated his invisibility. Xavier didn’t ask why—he knew that if Samuel were identified, it would cause a huge problem.
He got on his airboard and activated its float option. The airboard hovered about 110 cm above the ground without moving an inch.
"Is the airboard’s magnetic function on?" Samuel asked. The magnetic function allowed the airboard’s surface to perfectly hold the rider’s shoes in place.
"Yes."
"Good."
"Are you sure about what you’re gonna do?"
"Yes."
"I just hope your plan works."
"Don’t worry. According to my calculations, there is a 95% success rate."
"Which also means there’s a 5% chance of failure."
"Don’t put too much thought into the small details."
"You, an android, are saying that?"
"Yes."
"Fine. You can start."
"As you command," Samuel said with a calm nod, his voice as steady as ever. He stepped behind the airboard and extended both arms, placing his hands gently yet firmly on its rear propulsion module. His ocean-blue eyes began to glow, softly at first, like moonlight reflecting off calm waters. But within seconds, the glow intensified, pulsing with waves of energy that flickered across his irises like lightning. In the next second...
ZZOOOOOMMM!!
"Waaagh!!" Xavier cried out, the shout instantly swallowed by the roaring wind.
His body was nearly horizontal from the force, and his cheeks flapped comically as the air pressure slammed into his face like a barrage of open palms. His eyes watered involuntarily. The world around him became a blur of motion—trees, clouds, terrain—all streaking past so quickly they melted into smears of color.
This continued for more than 20 minutes until Samuel finally came to a stop. He placed the board on the ground.
Thump.
"Haaf... haaf... haaf..." Xavier lay on the ground, gasping for breath. His heart pounded like crazy, as if it would burst from his chest. He looked up at Samuel with a glare.
’Why didn’t this asshole warn me beforehand? I’d have at least had some mental preparation.’
"Even if I had told you and you had mentally prepared yourself, you wouldn’t have agreed to this method of travel," Samuel said, answering exactly what was on Xavier’s mind.
"The... hell... haa... you can... haa... read minds too?" Xavier asked, still gasping for breath.
"No. It is just a hunch. I suggest you take deep breaths."
"Haa... you... and your... haa... hunches."
Xavier lay flat on the ground, panting heavily. After a while, he calmed down and started breathing normally again. He got up from the ground and looked around.
The entire place was full of greenery. There were tall trees, beautiful flowers, and the air carried a verdant fragrance.
"Where are we?" Xavier asked, confused.
"We are in the Periculous Forest. It’s an area outside the control or jurisdiction of any of the Eight Duchies."
Upon hearing the name, Xavier’s face turned pale. His pupils shook, his legs turned to jelly, and his stomach churned.
"D-did you just say we are in the Periculous Forest?" Xavier asked, stammering.
’Please tell me I’ve heard that wrong. Please, please, please!!’
"Yes," Samuel replied bluntly, his face unreadable.
"Goddammit!!!"
"Why? Why? Why? Just why!? I don’t wanna die!"
"Get it together, Master Xavier. It’s not that big of a deal. It’s just a forest."
"Just a forest!? There’s a reason this forest is called Periculous!"
"You need to stop whining like a child, Master Xavier."
"As if I could calm down! We’re on a completely different continent! There’s a reason no one—not even the Dukes—has conquered this forest! It’s because there is a Level One Monster at the PLANET Grade living here!"
"Do you know what that means? There’s a monster strong enough to destroy this entire planet into atoms living here!"
"And your loud voice is going to let that monster know we’re here. So please, I urge you to calm down."
"Ugh... fine."
"But how long will this training be? What if Mom finds out?"
"Well, we have that, so even if it fails, it shouldn’t be a problem."
"Why?"
"Let’s just say the flow of time in this place is a bit skewed."
"What!? How!?"
’Affecting time itself? Is this a joke or is there some contraption that allows it?’
"Simple. The Planet Grade Monster in this place is the cause of it."
"Then—"
"Enough about the monster. Do you want to know about anything else?"
"Alright, but how did we even get here?"
"Do you see this?"
Samuel lifted his right leg slightly and pointed to the sole. Strange purple markings in an unknown language were inscribed there.
’What is this? It seems similar to the writings on the Hell’s Advocate Dagger.’
"Now, can you turn your head over here and look down?"
Xavier did as told—and noticed... nothing.
"Huh? But there’s nothing?"
"Yes, but if I do this..."
Samuel hovered his right foot about 20 cm off the ground. In the next second, strange purple symbols—similar to those on his shoe—appeared on the earth beneath.
’What the heck? It’s those strange writings again.’
"To get to this place, I first stepped on a similar marking back in the Barony. The moment I did, it teleported both you and me here—to the Periculous Forest."
"Teleport? Because of these strange writings? I can’t believe it," Xavier said.
Although he had heard of teleportation and knew it was possible through complicated contraptions, he had never heard of it being triggered by some strange symbols. It made no sense to him.
"It is normal to be skeptical—this is a highly guarded secret."
"Secret?" Xavier’s eyes gleamed at the word.
"Quick! Tell me what the secret is!"
Samuel’s lips curled. He knew Xavier would get excited.
"The secret is..."
"Is...?"
