Chapter 94: Take It or Leave It

Rodney walked into the house and was not in the best of moods. He just came back from seeing Lex at the clinic.

Martin realized that the young man was not in the best of spirits. "Come here Rodney, have a seat beside me and let’s talk. I know you just had your appointment at the clinic and you don’t look so good. Talk to me about it."

"Mr. Martin, it’s not fair. I see all the other boys my age 16 to 18 without a care in the world running and playing and here I am big as a side of the house, swollen, my belly is. I don’t want to be pregnant. I didn’t ask for this but yet there’s nothing I can do. This is not supposed to happen to me, not until I’m 20 and go to my transition then I have my first cycle and I choose to have a partner or to be impregnated with the child of a breeder of my choice. Why did they do this to us in the program? Is money that valuable that they have to have it any way they can get it?"

"Rodney, you just have to give it time. Soon you go into labor and you have the baby and everything will be just fine. You have a nice pretty little baby boy and life will go on. Sometimes life throws a curve and we have to deal with it."

"But Mr. Martin you don’t understand, I don’t want this baby inside of me. I want nothing to do with it. I wish it was gone right now and I could continue my youth. I want to go out and be like every other teenager."

"Rodney you say that now but as soon as you’ve had the baby and you get a chance to hold him, you’ll change your mind. You will realize that it’s part of you. It is truly a blessing, the child that you carry no matter how it got there."

"Well as soon as I push the damn thing out somebody else can be blessed because I don’t want anything to do with it. I don’t want to see it, I don’t want to hear it, I don’t want to touch it, I don’t want it touching me. In fact, I don’t want it anywhere in this house. I just want it gone. It can stay in the Z1 but just not in this house with me so don’t think about keeping it."

Martin was concerned about Rodney’s mental health. This much aggression toward the child wasn’t good for either of them. "Rodney I’ve got a question. What if the baby lived with someone we knew and they raised it as their child and you are just an older cousin in its life? Do you think that you could handle that? Yes, you could still see the child growing up, maturing out and becoming a young man one day that you would be its cousin, not its birth parent. We can find someone that the child can bond with as its dad right after birth. You won’t have to hold the child during, had to see them if you don’t want to."

"Mr. Martin that would be okay but who’s dumb enough to take this thing that I’ve got growing in me? We don’t know what its father was, he might be a hideous monster."

"Rodney as bad as the corporate machine was, I think they were breeding for quality in the programs so I imagine the father was a nice-looking Genman and that’s what I would like to believe myself. Let me make a couple phone calls and talk to a couple of good people who knows, maybe we’ll hit the jackpot."

"Good because I sure hit the crapper when it came to this."

Martin picked up his phone and walked out the front porch and took a deep breath. Where would he find the perfect parents for an unwanted child? Jonathan came driving by and waved, and then it hit Martin like a ton of bricks.

Jonathan pulled up at his and William’s place and had a few things in the back of the buggy. He was surprised that Martin came over but glad also. He needed a little bit of adult conversation. Then he got blindsided.

"Jonathan what do you think about becoming a parent?"

"Maybe someday when the time’s right but right now my career’s going good and I’m not spoiling my body for William and a baby. Yeah, I will have a child one day maybe in 10 years but my career is too much for me to give it all up."

"That’s not what I mean Jonathan. Let me put it this way. Rodney is not going to keep his baby. He is adamant that it has to go. He doesn’t want to see it when it’s born. He doesn’t want to hear it. He doesn’t want to touch it. In fact, if he could he would pull it out of his insides right now."

What Martin said hit Jonathan like a ton of bricks. How could someone, anyone in fact, not want a precious child? Yes, Rodney was young, only 16, but there should be some parenting hormones that should’ve kicked in with the pregnancy. "What about you and Hans? Can y’all raise it?"

"Rodney says he does not want it anywhere in the house so we can’t even about trying to keep it already. He is so far out here and he didn’t care. We both know that he can’t survive on his own. He’s got no life skills. He’s got no teaching. He has to learn everything as a Genman. As all of the kids in that program do."

Jonathan thought for a minute. A baby, a newborn, some kid who depended on him that he could feed. He has nectar and it would be almost 7 months before Paul’s arrived, and that would help William get used to a Genman child in the house. No weight gain, no stretch marks and most of all no birthing pain.

"You know Martin if I decide to do this, Rodney will have to strike a bargain. He will have to go to school. He’ll have to work extra hard, all straight top A marks and then when he’s finished with that he will have to go into higher learning. I’ll pay all of his expenses. When he transitions the first cycle oh no, he’s not jumping up and having a kid. He will have to have his education finished prior to committing to anyone in a relationship. In other words, no Genman dick, no human dick, no dick of any kind. If you abide by my rules, sure, soon as he has it I’ll take the baby and if William doesn’t like it he can always sleep in the spare room with Paul. Let me get the things put away right here and I’ll walk back with you and I’ll lay the rules down to young Rodney and see if that’s agreeable with him."

Martin and Jonathan walked into the house. Martin called Rodney into the living room to have a seat.

"Rodney, we need to talk and this is serious. You’ve made it plainly clear that you want nothing to do with the baby that you’re carrying and you want it out of sight and out of mind. It can still stay on the Z1 but you don’t want it in this house with you, as you don’t want to be a parent."

"Yes, that is correct. I’ll be glad when it’s out of my body, and I can go back to being a teenager."

Jonathan cleared his throat and crossed his legs then looked directly at Rodney. "Young man I agree with you, you’re too damn young to be in the situation that you’re in and that’s why I’m here. As soon as you give birth, I’ll take possession of the child. He will be my child, not your child. You can be at best a distant cousin and that’s fine."

"But if I do this there are guidelines, a.k.a. rules of engagement. You’re going to learn, you’re going to school and I don’t care if you don’t like learning. You will learn until your head oozes with knowledge. And when you finish with Genman school and everything you learn from it, you’re going to University. You’ll travel from the Z1 to the city in college every day. You will come back here. You’ll do your work. You’ll do your schoolwork and you will report back to Hans and Martin with the results. You will obtain a degree in a chosen field no matter what."

"You won’t have time for suitors, I don’t care how cute they are or if they just make you feel all good and wet. You are on a dick-free diet for the next foreseeable future and I mean like five or six years. I don’t care how horny you get. It’s the electronic age. Go get yourself a phony, strap it to the wall and hump your ass if you have to but no real dick will enter you because you’re not going to get pregnant. In fact, you’re not going to have sex with condoms either because they break and there’s always a chance of having an oops."

"Because if you do that child that I’m raising will know exactly who you are and that you threw him away like a piece of garbage and I picked him up."

"Is this something that you can live with or do I need to walk out that door? Because this is a one-time right now offer, not good or valid in five seconds, five minutes or when I see myself walking out that door."
