Chapter 66: Lin Feng vs Yi Bei (3)
Crap, I feel like I’m about to die, Feng thought as the poison rampaged through his body.
Green blotches spread across his skin, and each breath burned in his chest.
Even the blood he coughed up sizzled on the ground, thick with emerald poison.
Feng looked up, locking eyes with Yi Bei.
The other cultivator glared back, his gaze filled with killing intent.
But if you looked closely, past the anger, you could see it—
Fear. He was afraid.
"Damn it! Isn’t this guy only at the sixth level of Qi Condensation? How is he so strong?!"
Yi Bei spat out more blood, his face pale as the wounds on his body piled up.
Beast-Type Cultivators were supposed to have stronger bodies—but even among them, there were limits.
And Feng was pushing him past those limits.
"I don’t know where you came from, brat, but clearly you’re no nobody.
Are you some prodigy from one of the larger clans? Or maybe the kid of someone I killed when I was younger?" Yi Bei forced himself to speak, his voice strained.
It was clear—he was in just as bad a condition as Lin Feng.
"I’m just some random wolf cub from a big forest. I’m nothing special," Lin Feng replied, using the brief moment of respite to steady himself.
His body trembled as it fought against the poison, and he took the chance to ask the system a question.
How is my condition? How much time do I have left?
[THE HOST NEEDS TO FIND A WAY TO TREAT THE POISON IN HIS BODY IMMEDIATELY!!!]
So, my condition is so bad the system’s basically screaming at me again, Feng thought, forcing himself to exhale slowly.
He cleared his mind, pushing everything aside until only one thought remained—
Survive.
It’s either him or me—life or death, once again.
And Feng smiled, a smile filled with a monstrous amount of killing intent as his gray eyes gleamed like a predator’s.
"Heh, guess we’re both at the end of our ropes, huh, you wolf bastard!"Yi Bei smirked, blood dripping from the corner of his mouth.
He began channeling poison—not just into his fingertips, but throughout his entire body.
The poisonous energy swirled and condensed, twisting into the form of a massive emerald toad.
"Let’s see how you handle this, you damn wolf!" Yi Bei snarled, thrusting his hand forward.
The enormous toad swelled grotesquely, absorbing the poisonous fog from the surroundings until it loomed like a toxic colossus.
Emerald Poison Art: Emerald Poison Toad!
The creature let out a thunderous croak, sending ripples through the poisonous mist as its massive body pulsed with corrosive energy.
Feng gritted his teeth, the pressure from the beast pressing down on him like a crushing wave.
If that thing hits me head-on, I’m finished...
His gray eyes flashed with resolve as he pushed the Blackwood Dominance Art to its limits.
Darksilver spiritual energy coiled around him, crackling like a raging storm.
His instincts screamed to move—but the toad struck first.
A torrent of poisonous slime erupted from the toad’s maw, devouring everything in its path.
Feng barely twisted away, but the edges of the corrosive liquid grazed his arm, leaving a deep, smoldering burn.
I need to end this quickly...
Suppressing the pain, Feng’s aura flared violently.
Darksilver spiritual energy surged around him, distorting the air with its oppressive might.
With a feral growl, he lunged forward, his speed blurring his form as he circled the toad, searching for an opening.
The ground cracked beneath his feet with every step, but the monstrous beast followed his movements relentlessly.
Yi Bei smirked, his eyes gleaming with malice. "Nowhere to run!"
The toad’s colossal tongue lashed out, a blur of deadly force.
Feng spun to the side, barely evading as the impact shattered the earth, sending jagged chunks of rock flying in all directions.
One shard sliced across his cheek, drawing a thin line of blood.
Before he could regain his balance, the toad attacked again, its tongue snapping toward him like a whip.
Faster, I need to move faster or I’m dead!!
Feng dropped low, sliding under the strike as the poisonous mist thickened around him, burning his lungs with every breath, slowing his reflexes by the second.
Yi Bei laughed coldly, but Feng caught it—the faint tremor in his voice.
His face was pale, and his hands shook slightly despite his bravado.
He’s pushing himself too hard... If I can hold out a little longer...
The toad swelled again, absorbing more poison from the air.
Its body pulsed with sickly green light as Yi Bei thrust his palm forward.
"Emerald Poison Art: Emerald Poison Burst!"
A volley of poison-laced projectiles exploded from the toad’s body, raining down like a deadly storm.
Feng darted through the barrage, twisting and weaving as the ground sizzled beneath the venom’s touch.
One projectile clipped his shoulder, sending a sharp jolt of pain through his arm as the poison burrowed into his flesh.
Damn this shit hurts, I need to focus, focus, focus, FOCUS!!
Gritting his teeth, he retaliated.
Feng unleashed a barrage of claw strikes, sending arcs of darksilver energy hurtling toward the toad.
Each strike tore through the air, carving deep grooves into the beast’s bloated body, but it only seemed to grow more enraged.
Yi Bei’s smirk faltered as Feng’s relentless assault forced him back a step.
"You think you can break through? You’re nothing but a wild dog!" Yi Bei snarled, pushing more of his spiritual energy into the toad.
Its eyes flared with emerald light as it slammed both webbed fists into the ground.
THOOM!
Venomous spikes erupted in all directions. Feng leaped into the air to avoid being impaled, but the toad was ready.
Its tongue shot upward like a spear.
Too fast!
Feng twisted mid-air, barely avoiding a direct hit, but the tongue grazed his ribs.
White-hot pain surged through his side as he crashed to the ground.
Blood trickled from his mouth as he staggered upright, forcing himself to stand
I can’t let him control the pace.
Feng planted his feet, summoning every ounce of his strength.
He threw his head back and let out a bestial howl—Ruler’s Howl.
The battlefield trembled as a crushing wave of suppressive force exploded outward, crashing against Yi Bei like an invisible wall.
Yi Bei flinched, as the numerous amounts of injuries he sustained plus, the natural aura of suppresion that was constantly being emitted from Lin Feng caused him to finally let out a small gap in his conciousness, as the paralysis effect of the skill took place, locking him in fear for just a few seconds.
That moment of fear and paralysis was all Feng needed.
He surged forward in a blur of motion, his claws extending and crackling with the oppressive might of his Alpha Wolf’s Domain as he gathered all of the remaining spiritual energy in his body and sent it towards his claws, bolstering its strength.
A feeling of overwhelming power burned through his veins, numbing even the pain he felt from the emerald poison that was wrecking havoc within his body.
Yi Bei’s eyes widened in shock and fear as he struggled to move.
"You’re insane!" he shouted, forcing the emerald toaf manifestation to intercept.
Unfortunately for him, Feng was much faster.
BLACKWOOD DOMINANCE ART: WOLF BANE!!
Feng roared, his voice echoing through the air as all of the spiritual energy in his body was concentrated at a single point, all to ensure the most damage was brought upon his enemy.
The toad tried to attack, trying to stop Lin Feng from approaching Yi Bei as it raised its webbed arm and dropped it, bringing a powerful pressure and yet Feng ducked beneath the toad’s flailing arm, his body a blur of motion.
In a flash, his claws sharpened into gleaming blades, radiating a crushing suppressive force.
With all his might, he struck, bringing with it all the force he could muster.
His claws tore through Yi Bei’s shoulder, slicing deep into flesh and bone.
Blood sprayed into the air in a crimson arc as the force of the blow sent shockwaves rippling through the battlefield as the ground around them shattered.
"AAARGH!" Yi Bei cried out in agony, his body trembling.
The emerald toad quivered violently, its form flickering as his control wavered.
Staggering backward, Yi Bei clutched his mangled shoulder, panic flashing through his eyes.
Feng didn’t relent—his killing intent surged, ready to end it once and for all.
But the battle wasn’t over.
The toad lashed out in blind fury, its massive bulk crashing down on Feng’s body.
CRACK!
Feng felt his ribs snap as the impact slammed him into the ground.
A fresh wave of pain exploded through his body, blood spilling from his lips and yet his thoughts ran elsewhere.
Just need to hold on longer than him... If I do that, then I win
Across from him, Yi Bei clutched his bleeding shoulder, his chest heaving.
His poison reserves were nearly drained, and his body trembled from the strain.
They glared at each other—both on the brink of collapse.
