Chapter 47: First Meeting

BOOM!

Feng’s claws tore through the throat of the massive Red-Faced Gorilla, causing blood to spill out once again, dyeing the forest floor red.

The stark contrast between the crimson blood and the lush greenery made the scene all the more striking.

Feng didn’t pause after killing the leader of the spiritual beasts.

He quickly turned and dashed toward the three remaining fifth-level Red-Faced Gorillas.

The brief courage they had gained from witnessing their companions’ deaths instantly evaporated the moment they saw even their leader fall.

Fear twisted their features as they turned to flee.

All three scattered in different directions.

Feng immediately locked onto the nearest one to his right, his aura surging with a terrifying suppressive force.

He dashed forward at an astonishing speed, his murderous intent radiating fiercely.

The previous situation—being surrounded by these beasts—had clearly pissed him off.

On top of that, the sudden appearance of that spear and the immense spiritual energy pressure it carried left him with unanswered questions.

One thing was clear: he needed to end this fight as quickly as possible.

RIP!

Feng caught up to the nearest Red-Faced Gorilla in an instant.

With a swift slash of his claws, he tore through its back, ripping out a large portion of its flesh.

Blood gushed out as darksilver spiritual energy swirled around his body.

Without hesitation, he leaped into the air, driving his claws straight toward the gorilla’s head, tearing through its skull and smashing it apart, causing it fall down on the ground in a cloud of dust and blood.

Feng landed on the ground and quickly looked to his left.

His pupils constricted when he realized that both of the remaining fifth-level spiritual beasts were already dead.

One had a gaping hole in its chest, as if it had exploded, while the other had its stomach ripped open.

Clearly, the person who did this was no weakling, which only increased the pressure Feng felt.

He turned his gaze toward the open clearing as the person he had been waiting for finally appeared.

Yet, his expression was one of shock—the person who showed up wasn’t a man.

It was a girl.

She had long blonde hair that cascaded gently over her shoulders, and her clear blue eyes held a calm, unwavering gaze despite the bloodstains on her clothes.

Her figure was slender, with a graceful waist, though it was her face that truly caught Feng’s attention.

It was delicate, like fine porcelain, with soft, refined features that made her stand out.

She was the most beautiful girl Feng had ever seen, and even the most attractive girl from Raincloud Village seemed dull in comparison.

And yet, despite her beauty, Feng’s heart pounded—not with admiration, but with pressure.

The aura she gave off was miles stronger than what he had felt from Yuta.

He had the unsettling feeling that even if he fully integrated with his Heaven’s Pact, defeating her would still be an immense challenge.

But that wasn’t even the most shocking part.

Her cultivation base—she was clearly already at the 9th level of Qi Condensation.

And yet, she was clearly of the around the same age as him.

In her hand was a glowing golden spear. It was long, with a tip shaped like a dragon’s head, its mouth open where the blade edge was located.

A powerful spiritual energy pressure radiated from it—it was clear that this was her Heaven’s Pact.

Feng quickly tried to calm himself as he silently observed the newcomer.

His mind raced, but he soon realized that the girl didn’t seem to have any negative intent toward him.

She only stared at him with a serene expression.

"Thank you for your help, miss. If you hadn’t intervened, I probably would have been in a difficult spot," Feng said with an awkward smile.

After thinking it over, he realized that the first thing she had done upon arriving was lend him a helping hand.

She hadn’t taken advantage of the situation to ambush him, which made him start to believe that she probably didn’t mean him any harm—or at least, he hoped so.

"I don’t think you needed my help. Based on your expression and your spiritual energy, you probably would have been fine even if I hadn’t intervened," the young girl replied with a calm expression.

Though he couldn’t tell what she was thinking, he figured there was no harm in playing it safe and avoiding conflict.

"No, no, no—you saved my life! Allow me to give you a token of my gratitude!" Feng said as he reached into his Bag of Holding.

But before he could pull anything out, the girl spoke again.

"It’s fine. I only saved you on a whim. There’s no reason for you to thank me," she replied shutting him down.

Still, Feng didn’t give up and once again offered—

"No, no, why don’t I treat you to a meal? I have some roasted meat from a Red-Tipped Brown Boar—I doubt you’ve tasted anything like it!" Feng said as he watched the girl, trying to gauge her reaction.

Even though it seemed like Feng was trying to placate her, he was clearly still on guard.

He was doing his best to act cordial for two reasons.

First, it was obvious that this girl was strong—much stronger than any cultivator he had met so far.

This meant that if they fought, the outcome would be uncertain.

He didn’t know if it would be him or her who would die.

Second, and more troubling, was the fact that a girl this powerful had appeared here out of nowhere.

At her age, it was clear that she was an absolute genius.

The only reason he was as strong as he was came from the system and the Blackwood Ruler.

If she had reached this level without such advantages, then it was logical to assume she had come here with a Dao Protector and was undergoing personal training.

And that Dao Protector—if he truly existed—had to be someone at least on the same level as Elder Zhou, given that he hadn’t been detected by the Blackwood Ruler.
