Chapter 129: Lin Feng vs Wei Jun (4)

Lin Feng stared at the massive double-handed axe clutched in Wei Jun’s grip.

A single full-powered slash from that thing, and there was no doubt—at best, he’d be heavily injured at worse he would definitely die.

What the hell? Did I scare him so much that he actually resorted to using a weapon?!

Fuck.

His forehead creased in frustration. This was bad—really bad.

Not only did he have to contend with Wei Jun’s monstrous physique and numerous spiritual arts, but now he had to deal with a powerful Spirit Artifact on top of it.

I need to keep improving the Blackwood Dominance Art. If I could use more spiritual arts in battle, I wouldn’t be at such a disadvantage!

The thought struck him like a lightning bolt. He had first realized this when fighting Mo Chen, but only now did he truly grasp its importance.

Most of the long-standing clans have spent at least a hundred years mastering their primary cultivation techniques, developing unique spiritual arts based on them.

Their descendants don’t have to struggle like I do—they can just learn these techniques directly from their family members.

But for people like us, there’s no straight path.

If I want to keep improving my cultivation and strengthening my combat prowess, I need to figure out these spiritual arts on my own. Otherwise, I’ll just keep getting overwhelmed by every enemy I face!

Which brings me to the most important lesson I learned from Mo Chen—I just need to be creative!

I have to think about how the unique spiritual energy from my Heaven’s Pact can be harnessed in specific ways to create new spiritual arts based on my cultivation technique.

If the old sects and clans had centuries to refine their techniques, then I’ll forge my own path!

Lin Feng’s eyes gleamed with newfound determination.

But as the realization settled in, another question nagged at him.

He frowned and decided to ask the system directly.

Hey, system, if I create a new spiritual art based on the Blackwood Dominance Art, will I experience the same enlightenment from the Heavens as before?

[Negative. Only creations that the Heavenly Dao deems worthy of a reward will trigger such a reaction.]

Oh... Lin Feng exhaled, slightly disappointed. I guess I was too—

BOOM!

Suddenly, a massive axe came hurtling toward Lin Feng, radiating an overwhelming spiritual energy pressure. The sheer force of it sent a chill down his spine.

Shit, how could I be so fucking careless?! I’m in the middle of a fight damn it!

Lin Feng tried to move, to dodge the attack that was currently barreling towards and him and yet at that moment, he realized something—the ground beneath him had solidified into stone once again, locking him in place.

FUCK!!

Lin Feng started to panic, If that attack landed, he had no doubt that it would end his life. Without hesitation, Lin Feng took a deep breath, his Alpha Wolf’s Domain surging to its peak.

Then, he unleashed the most powerful howl he had ever released.

"Blackwood Dominance Art: Ruler’s Howl!"

AWOOOO!!!

A deafening shockwave tore through the air. The sheer force of it sent ripples across the battlefield, distorting space itself.

Wei Jun froze in place, his body momentarily stiffening.

The trees surrounding the pavilion were violently uprooted, as if a storm had suddenly descended upon the area, turning everything into utter chaos.

MOVE, MOVE, MOVE

Gritting his teeth, Lin Feng forced himself free from the stone’s hold.

But as he regained his footing, he realized the problem—Wei Jun had already endured the effects of Ruler’s Howl multiple times. He was beginning to develop resistance.

"You fucking ant! Did you really think that trick would keep working forever?!" Wei Jun roared, his voice laced with fury.

His massive axe came barreling down once more, wreathed in a suffocating aura of killing intent. It was clear—Wei Jun had no intention of dragging this fight out any longer.

He wanted to end it now, before Lin Feng could turn the tide against him again.

Lin Feng’s eyes gleamed with madness. At the speed that axe was coming, dodging was impossible. He had no way out and so he once again made the same decision he did previously.

Screw it. I’ll trust my instincts once more!

Instead of retreating, he planted his feet firmly and channeled his spiritual energy into his fist. But this time, he did more than just gather power—he fused the Spirit Suppression Art into his strike.

Let’s hope I’m right!

With unwavering resolve, Lin Feng clenched his fist and threw a punch straight at the descending axe, roaring in his mind:

"Blackwood Dominance Art: Darksilver Obliteration!"

WHOOSH!

Lin Feng’s punch tore through the air, distorting it with sheer force. The surrounding space seemed to tremble as a surge of spiritual energy erupted from his fist, crackling with raw power.

The suppressive force of his Spirit Suppression Art layered onto the attack, making it the strongest strike he had ever unleashed in his years of cultivation.

Then, the two attacks collided.

For an instant, the air itself froze.

BOOM!

A massive shockwave exploded outward, ripping through the battlefield.

The pavilion was reduced to ruins in an instant—wood splintered, stone shattered, and the very ground trembled under the sheer force of the impact.

The once-pristine area was now an unrecognizable wasteland of destruction.

At the center of the devastation, Lin Feng and Wei Jun were both hurled backward by the force of the collision.

CRASH!

Wei Jun’s massive body slammed into the ground, leaving a deep crater where he landed. Blood poured from his chest, and jagged bone peeked through torn flesh—a testament to the sheer force of Lin Feng’s strike.

His body trembled as he struggled to rise, his breath ragged.

But Lin Feng wasn’t any better.

Though their attacks had seemed evenly matched, in reality, Wei Jun had held the upper hand. The sheer power of his spiritual artifact had made the difference.

Up until now, Lin Feng had relied on his formidable physique to keep pace, but this time, it wasn’t enough.

A deep, gaping wound stretched from his shoulder to his waist—dangerously close to cutting him in half. Pain surged through his body, his vision blurred, and blood drenched his robes as he felt faint.

Fuck.
