Chapter 114: Smashed
Chapter 114: Smashed
"We need to get out of here right now unless we want to die from a random attack by those monsters in the sky!" Chen Si hissed, his gaze fixed on the fierce battle above.
Fortunately for them, both combatants seemed to realize that fighting near the city wasn’t in their best interest.
After a brief clash, they flew higher into the sky, ensuring that the shockwaves from their battle caused minimal damage to the city below.
Huang Bei, who had remained silent until now, suddenly spoke. "How far are we from the Solid Rock Pavilion?"
Chen Si, hearing the question, shifted his attention toward him. Noticing the grim look on Huang Bei’s face, he responded, "It should be close. We’re already nearing the Wei Clan’s territory. Any time now, we’ll probably be facing attacks from—"
WHOOSH!
A massive earthen tail shot out in front of Chen Si, smashing toward his body. But Chen Si wasn’t some pushover.
"This bastard!" he growled, purple spiritual light flaring to life around him. Without hesitation, he raised his right hand and slammed it downward.
"Nine Nether Soul Arts: Nether Palm Strike!"
HISS!
The air trembled as his palm collided with the earthen tail.
For a moment, the two forces clashed, locked in a fierce struggle.
Slowly, the tail quivered before being forcefully pushed aside. A faint purple sheen crept along its surface—poison.
Yet instead of collapsing, the attacker merely let out a low grunt. His voice, cold and mocking.
"Is that all you’ve got, Chen Si? You think a little poison can stop me?"
The man stepped forward, his towering frame and powerful physique making his identity clear—a member of the Wei Clan. Spiritual energy swirled around him, dense and oppressive, as his sharp gaze settled on Chen Si.
"Wei Mun," Chen Si muttered, his face hardening. "What’s a lizard like you doing here?."
"Clearly, it’s to—"
Before Wei Mun could finish his sentence—
BOOM!
Huang Bei lunged forward without warning, cutting him off.
His Heaven’s Pact Integration erupted to life as his skin turned black and a pair of curved horns pierced through his forehead.
This time, however, his form was more refined—still a fearsome half-man, half-bull, but now radiating a terrifying, battle-hardened aura, it was clear that Old Man Chen had already given the Huang Bei his reward of a cultivation technique.
"I’ve wanted to crush one of you Wei dogs for a while now!" Huang Bei roared, his fist crashing down like a falling mountain.
Wei Mun sneered, clenching his fists as dark yellow spiritual energy flared around him. With a step forward, he met Huang Bei’s punch head-on.
BOOM!
The impact shook the ground beneath them as their fists collided. Neither man gave an inch, their spiritual energy clashing in waves that cracked the earth.
Wei Mun’s eyes gleamed with bloodlust as he pivoted, driving an elbow toward Huang Bei’s ribs. Huang Bei blocked with one arm, but the force still sent him skidding backward.
"Not bad," Wei Mun growled, "but you’ll need more than brute force to beat me!"
In response, Huang Bei snorted and surged forward again.
His horns gleamed with dark light as he charged, aiming to impale Wei Mun.
Wei Mun slammed his palms together, forming a glowing earthen spear.
"Stonehide Dragon Art: Stone Shatter Lance!" He thrust it toward Huang Bei’s chest.
CRACK!
Huang Bei twisted at the last second, deflecting the spear with a swipe of his horns.
In the same motion, he slammed his knee into Wei Mun’s gut, sending him flying backward.
But Wei Mun flipped mid-air, landing gracefully. He wiped a trickle of blood from his mouth, his grin widening.
"Good. This might actually be fun."
"I’m not here to play!" Huang Bei snarled, his muscles bulging as he charged again, his fists wrapped in black spiritual energy.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
Fists and techniques clashed in rapid succession, the battlefield trembling beneath their ferocity. It was clear that the both of them we’re evenly matched.
Meanwhile, Chen Si and Lin Feng were also getting busy. A total of eight enemies had surrounded them. With one of them already being handle by Huang Bei, only seven opponents remained.
"I’ll take the three on the left. You handle the four on the right," Chen Si said, glancing at Lin Feng before giving a quick nod.
"Just make sure not to kill any of those yellow-scaled lizard bastards—but feel free to cripple them."
"Heh, so you’re the one Young Master Wei Jun is interested in." One of the enemies stepped forward, a tall but thin man whose sharp eyes gleamed with malice.
"He says you’re not part of the Chen Clan. If we kill you, there’s a hefty reward waiting for us..." His name was Mo Chen, the strongest among them, standing at the 8th level of Qi Condensation.
Another man sneered, gathering dark-blue spiritual energy in his hands.
"Yeah, kid. You’d better be prepared to die a gruesome death. We’re not like those hired bandits from the Chen Clan. I don’t know why the Young Master’s so interested in you, though. What can a brat at the sixth level of Qi Condensation even do against us?"
"Why don’t you come and find out?" Lin Feng smiled in response
BOOM!
Suddenly, a shadow blurred as a figure appeared beside Lin Feng—swift and silent.
The attacker had sharp claws and whiskers, clearly a beast-type cultivator with a feline Heaven’s Pact.
His cultivation was impressive, sitting at the early 7th level of Qi Condensation.
Unfortunately for him, Lin Feng was much stronger than he appeared.
As the feline cultivator’s claws slashed toward his side, Lin Feng moved with frightening ease—raising his right hand and catching the incoming strike in an iron grip.
"If you’re going to ambush someone," Lin Feng said coolly, "you should at least try to hide."
Though his tone was calm, beneath it simmered a towering killing intent—one he had been struggling to suppress ever since learning that Yan Hao and Yan Li had been kidnapped.
It was time to kill.
Without warning, Lin Feng yanked the beast cultivator toward him and delivered a crushing punch with his left fist. Darksilver spiritual energy flared around his knuckles—no fancy techniques, just the power of his cultivation base and his physical body.
The impact sent the enemy hurtling ten feet through the air before he crashed into the ground, shattering the earth beneath him as blood poured out of his mouth it was clear that compared to before he attained the second level of the Blackwood Ruler Physique, his battle prowess was now as vast as the difference between heaven and earth.
