Chapter 111: Strange

Lin Feng, noticing that the old lady called Grandma Qing wasn’t as intimidated by his aura, felt a hint of surprise as he thought to himself:

Is this old lady strong? But... she doesn’t feel strong.

He was a bit confused, but realizing that she was someone acquainted with Mei Ling, he quickly withdrew the oppressive aura from his cultivation base.

Though his tone became more respectful, a trace of urgency still lingered in his voice.

"Yes, I’m Lin Feng. Do you know what happened here?"

As he spoke, Lin Feng observed the old lady carefully.

Grandma Qing stepped closer, stopping just near enough to examine his face. After a brief moment of silence, she smiled faintly.

"You’re pretty good," she said.

Lin Feng didn’t notice it, but the moment those words left her lips, Chen Shi—who was already shaken by the pressure of Lin Feng’s cultivation—quietly inhaled a sharp breath. His mind raced with disbelief.

He even got acknowledged by Grandma Qing! Just who is this guy?!

Before Chen Shi could lose himself in his thoughts, Grandma Qing spoke again.

"When I got here, I was already too late. Those people had already destroyed the Silk House brothel, kidnapped the girls working here, and even killed the guards," Grandma Qing said, her voice carrying a hint of regret.

"What? If they had just kidnapped a few people, I could still understand—but to actually kill people? Are they insane?" Chen Shi spoke with furrowed brows, struggling to comprehend the audacity of such an act.

Huang Bei, who had been the first to enter the brothel, suddenly shouted toward the others. "There’s someone here! He’s a guard—still alive, but barely. If we don’t treat him quickly, he’s going to die!"

He carefully helped the injured man sit up, revealing a body covered in bruises.

"Cough... cough... Wait—I need to tell you what happened first," the guard in black clothing rasped, stopping Huang Bei from moving him further as he struggled to sit upright.

Lin Feng and the others immediately focused their attention on him, eager to finally understand what had transpired.

"A few hours ago, Yan Hao and Yan Li were staying here. They had a lot of money—some sort of reward, from what I overheard from the other girls," the guard began, his voice weak but steady.

"They had already been drinking, acting like any drunkards would, fooling around with the girls.

That’s when a group of people in brown uniforms suddenly approached them and demanded they hand over all their money!"

He broke into a fit of coughing, fresh blood staining his lips.

Seeing his worsening condition, Mei Ling grew anxious and hurried to administer first aid.

"Thank you," the guard murmured, nodding weakly in gratitude before continuing.

"Obviously, the twins weren’t having any of it. They refused—but I think they were harsher than they meant to be, and that’s when the argument between the two groups started."

His voice grew weaker, but everyone listened intently, knowing the next words would reveal the truth behind what happened here.

Eventually, a man stood up from his lounge chair—a hulking figure with a deep scar running down his face, he ordered his subordinates to kidnap Yan Hao and Yan Li," the guard said, his gaze settling on Huang Bei, who was sitting beside him.

"At first, the twins refused to cooperate, but the other party was much stronger. They were beaten unconscious in no time," the guard added, shaking his head in frustration.

Lin Feng’s eyes narrowed sharply, a dangerous glint flashing within them.

"So, you just stood there and watched everything happen without doing anything?" His voice was calm, yet it carried an undercurrent of menace.

"You can’t blame us for that!" the guard protested, his voice rising in panic.

"We’re just businessmen—we can’t afford to interfere with someone as powerful as Wei Zihao!"

Huang Bei, who had already suspected the culprit, clenched his fists as his blood boiled with rage.

"Wei Zihao, that bastard! How dare he drag those two idiots into this? If he wanted a fight, I’d take him on anytime!"

The guard, noticing Huang Bei’s fury, quickly pointed toward Lin Feng.

"No... it wasn’t because of you. It was because of him," he said, his voice trembling slightly.

Huang Bei froze, his anger momentarily giving way to confusion. He turned his fierce gaze back to the guard.

"What nonsense are you spouting? What does Lin Feng have to do with any of this?"

The guard, fearing Huang Bei’s wrath, hurriedly continued.

"He doesn’t know Lin Feng personally—but before they left, they said that if you want the twins back, Lin Feng must come alone!"

Huang Bei’s face twisted in shock. Of all the reasons he had expected for the twins’ abduction, this wasn’t one of them.

"What do they want with Lin Feng?" he demanded.

"I... I don’t know," the guard admitted, shaking his head with regret.

"All I know is that if you want to save the twins, Lin Feng must go to the Solid Rock Pavilion alone within twenty-four hours—or else..." His voice trailed off, but the implication was painfully clear to everyone present.

If I don’t go alone within twenty-four hours... those two are going to die, aren’t they?

Lin Feng’s fists clenched tightly as murderous intent began to leak uncontrollably from his body. Darksilver spiritual energy pulsed around him, surging with a cold, violent pressure.

Grandma Qing, who had been quietly listening to the entire exchange, finally spoke up.

"If they only took the twins, then what happened here?" she asked, gesturing toward the wreckage and the bloodstains littering the brothel.

The guard, now barely holding on to consciousness, gritted his teeth before answering.

"It was Wei Zihao... After taking the twins, he suddenly came back. There was something strange about him—like he didn’t feel like coming back but was forced to and he demanded that all the girls in the brothel either leave with him... or everyone here would die!"

His voice trembled as the weight of the memory pressed down on him as the air grew heavier from the tension
