Chapter 109: Moving Out

Lin Feng spun around and rushed to Huang Bei’s side.

Before he could even question the guard for more details, Huang Bei spoke first.

"Where were they last seen?" he asked, struggling to keep his composure.

He knew it was unfair to blame the guard who was merely delivering the message.

"According to the reports, they were last seen at the Silk House when a group of people from the Wei Clan suddenly showed up. I don’t have the full scope of what happened after that because I quickly rushed here to send the news," the guard replied, shaking his head with regret.

"The Wei Clan?" Yu Miao’s voice cut through the air, anger flashing in her eyes.

"Do they dare interfere in the affairs of the Chen Clan? Are they looking down on us?" She turned toward Huang Bei, her expression hardening.

"You and Lin Feng should head to the Silk House and gather more information. I’ll reach out to my contacts within the Wei Clan and see if I can figure out whatever it is that’s going on here!," she said, her expression serious.

Huang Bei nodded his head as he turned toward Lin Feng, his voice heavy with grief.

"Lin Feng, I know you’ve only known us for a short time, but I’m asking you to help us one more time. If anything happens to those two brothers, I wouldn’t have the face to see Old Man Chen again."

Hearing the pain in Huang Bei’s words, Lin Feng clasped his shoulder firmly before speaking.

"Of course I’ll help you! You, Yan Hao, and Yan Li are my friends—you can count on me!"

Huang Bei’s heart trembled at Lin Feng’s response as a faint smile broke through his sorrow, and his voice shook with gratitude.

"Thank you."

Lin Feng smiled back, but if one looked closely, they would see the fierce glint hidden in his eyes—a barely restrained murderous intent simmering beneath the surface.

Someone really dared to mess with my friends? His heart pounded with cold fury as his hands clenched into fists.

Yan Hao and Yan Li weren’t just passing acquaintances—they were people who had treated him with kindness when others turned away.

And now, someone thought they could harm them without consequence?

If I don’t kill at least one of the people responsible, then I’m not Lin Feng.

His gaze sharpened, and the murderous intent boiling within him threatened to erupt.

Whoever was behind this—no matter who they were—would pay the price in blood.

Yu Miao, observing the exchange between the two, gave a slight nod before shifting her gaze to Mei Ling.

The young woman had remained silent throughout, her body trembling faintly—whether from fear or anxiety was unclear, but it was obvious she was struggling to process the situation.

"Mei Ling, why don’t you lead Lin Feng and Huang Bei to the Silk House? You know where it is, right?" Yu Miao asked, her gaze settling on the trembling girl.

Mei Ling’s body shook even more as she looked toward Yu Miao.

Fear was etched across her face, and she opened her mouth just about ready to refuse—but then her eyes drifted to Lin Feng.

The fury burning within him was unmistakable.

In that moment, any thought of backing out vanished, and an unexpected surge of courage welled up inside her.

"Alright, Elder Sister Yu Miao. I’ll take care of it!" Mei Ling said, her voice steadier than before.

She turned to Lin Feng and Huang Bei, her expression serious.

"Young Master Lin Feng, Master Huang Bei, follow me. I know the quickest route to the Silk House!"

Lin Feng, noticing her fear but also her resolve, felt a warm flicker of appreciation.

With a reassuring smile, he said, "Don’t worry, Mei Ling. Once we know the location, you can stay as far away as you want. And if there’s any danger, I’ll protect you—no matter what."

Mei Ling’s heart eased at his words, and a bright smile broke through her anxiety as she gave a firm nod.

Just as they turned to leave, Yu Miao raised her hand, stopping them in their tracks.

A golden bell shimmered into existence in her palm looking almost exactly like the silver bell that Mei Ling told her about earlier but this time with a golden hue.

Without a word, she rang it softly, the sound crisp and clear, cutting through the tension in the air as a resonant chime echoed through the entire estate.

Within just a few moments, five figures appeared around them.

Four of them radiated strong auras at the sixth level of Qi Condensation, but it was clear that the last figure was a cut above the rest as his cultivation base was surprisingly at the same level as Huang Bei and Yi Bei—already at the eighth level of Qi Condensation.

"The five of you will accompany them as backup," Yu Miao commanded, her voice cold and venomous.

"Chen Shin, you’re in charge. Remember, these people are important guests of the young miss—protect them at all costs. Those Wei Clan bastards clearly think they can trample over our Chen Clan!"

The man called Chen Shin, a middle-aged figure with a clean-shaven head who had a stoic expression on his face stepped forward.

Despite the tension hanging heavy in the air, he remained composed as he gave a solemn nod.

"Understood, Lady Yu Miao. You can trust me—I will ensure their safety for the young miss."

His tone was firm and resolute.

It was Lin Feng who was looking at this Chen Shin with a slight bit of pressure as he quickly realized something about this person

He’s strong..

Satisfied, Yu Miao swept her gaze over the group.

"Good. Go quickly—before any evidence is wiped away!"

Without hesitation, Chen Shin turned to Mei Ling. "Lead the way," he spoke with a steady voice.

Still trembling slightly, Mei Ling forced herself to calm down as she drew a quick breath before nodding her head and stepping forward as she said.

"Follow me! I know a shortcut that will get us to the silk house quickly, we don’t have any time to waste!"

With that the group moved out quickly knowing that if they wasted anymore time, the more dire the situation would be for Yan Hao and Yan Li
