Chapter 130: A Date With My Cute Shinso Vampire VII
The barren wind whispered through the skeletal trees, carrying a dry chill that seemed to gnaw at Adam’s skin despite the layers he wore.
The Dark Valley stretched endlessly around them, a landscape of ruined stone and mud that had long forgotten the touch of sunlight.
Somewhere off into the distant, a low growl echoed.
For the most part the pair walked without purpose, or so it seemed.
Priscilla’s grip on his hand was firm but relaxed, her eyes scanning the horizon with keen sharpness that made Adam feel at ease.
They passed broken carcasses, twisted, ragged remains of creatures that had died far from mercy. Smaller beasts, weak and desperate, had already scattered away from the pair, unwilling to risk crossing paths with these strange visitors.
Adam kept his senses alert, alongside Priscilla mostly not out of worry but rather mostly out of purpose to find a proper opponent.
And then, abruptly, Priscilla halted. Her body tensed like a coiled spring, clearly sensing something, as a result her fingers tightening around his wrist.
"Follow me."
She said, her voice a low murmur, barely audible over the rustling leaves. As the terrain was still shrudded by darkness above.
However the terrain was starting to get more thick with greenery as they venture deeper into the Dark Valley.
Adam blinked a little taken back by her suddenness, even calling her out for it.
"Uh, follow you? What’s driving this all of a sudden big sis?"
She glanced back at him, a smirk twitching on the corner of her lips.
"I sense something up ahead. Something... interesting...
"Care to elaborate?"
"Hmm you will see what I mean when you see them, this can also serve as a good lesson for Monster kind reproduction."
Adam remained quiet but curious, and just decided to make Priscilla take the lead here.
The faint thrill of anticipation prickled through Adam’s veins as they progress further and further.
They moved faster now, slipping over broken ground and weaving between the thick trees, and bush, the scene of a dead wasteland slowly fading.
The muffled sounds grew louder: guttural shouts, heavy footsteps, a metallic clang now and then.
And then they came into view.
A group of orcs.
But these were no green-skinned brutes Adam had seen in the Monster World book, and some in Minerva village.
These orcs were larger, taller, standing easily at 7 foot tall, and muscular.
Their skin was coal black, rough like scorched leather. Sprouting from their foreheads were thick, twisted purple horns, curling like those of some infernal beast. Their eyes glowed faintly red, casting a sinister light on their scary looking faces.
Adam’s brow furrowed at the mere sight of them, as he asked, puzzle by these outliers.
"What kind of orcs are those big sis? Never seen those types before, I know Monster World orcs, are green in color, and brutish, but these... these look like something else."
Priscilla didn’t look back at them, rather she look forward, as she began to educate Adam.
"That’s right, early I sense two type of energy coming from these organisms, Monster and Demonic. Seeing these orcs appearance’s it quit obvious that they are hybrids."
"I guess as much."
Adam replied back still looking at them.
Priscilla observed them calmly as well, her sharp eyes narrowing.
"Since monsters kind can procreate with any species that exist as a result of our neutral DNA, it not hard to recognize that these are hybrids. Demonic orcs is the proper term for these types of monsters, by the looks of it. Crossbreeds between orcs and some kind of demon, most likely a fiend which are the most common type of Demonic orcs."
"Demonic orcs are also more brutal as well, watch for yourself, their starting surrounded that behemoth."
Priscilla said as she watch group of Demonic Orcs start to hunt together.
Adam eyes focus greatly, watching as the orcs surrounded a massive looking creature.
The beast in question was a shaggy mammoth-like beast, its eyes wild with terror. It thrashed and roared, but the orcs pressed in, blades glinting under the dim sky.
As two brought down their might axes and cut away at its face and neck.
"Mwugaga!!...
A monsterous scream filled the area along with harsh sound of something getting cut or slash deeply.
The mammoth like beast tussle on the ground, trying to shake the group of Demonic orcs off, but it failed.
"They’re killing it...
Adam said quietly.
Priscilla soon responded back to him saying.
"Orcs are social creatures. They live in large groups. One orc is strong, but a pack is formidable."
"Hmm I see, ha their leaving!"
Adam whispered, as he saw the group of four orcs started to carry the fallen beast somewhere.
Priscilla looked on as she spoke.
"Let"s follow them... Without a doubt their taking it back to their tribe or camp."
"...Okay."
With that said the two follow the orcs at a careful distance, slipping through the underbrush as the orcs retreated with their kill slung over their massive shoulders.
The deeper they ventured, the more the land changed.
Where the valley had been a bleak wasteland, here something more primal stirred. The trees thickened, till greenery dense into a full blown woods.
The air hung heavy with smoke and the smell of burning wood hit their nostrils.
Soon, the jagged outline of a village emerged from the gloom.
It was built from massive stone slabs and dark timber, walls reinforced with iron spikes and bones.
Torches flickered along the perimeter, casting flickering shadows over crude carvings.
Orc banners, black with red sigils, fluttered in the still wind.
The villagers moved with a rough order, their faces hardened by constant danger, their eyes sharp and wary.
The orcs Adam and Priscilla had followed disappeared into the labyrinthine maze of tents and huts, greeted with guttural shouts and grunts.
Priscilla’s eyes gleamed with something like approval.
"Ahhh a nice challenge indeed don’t you think?"
Priscilla asked.
"You don’t expect me to fight an entire tribe of orcs do you."
Adam asked in genuine horror at the task Priscilla wants to push him into.
"Oh please boy, this should be easy for you.
Priscilla argued, although Adam beg to differ. So far he had learned and master some human martial arts from Nyx and Minerva, so he is more than capable of defending himself.
"Sigh fine, very well then, I will go and face them.
"Hmm wouldn’t now be a good time to test of that New Lore Skill of yours as well, the scenario seem to align perfectly for it’s condition don’t you think?"
Priscilla asked, causing Adam to look at his left hand in the process while saying.
"Ha?"
"...That’s right I have yet to use that now have I?"
Adam commented, as he watch on.
"Well boy are you going to fight them or not?"
Priscilla asked, causing Adam to sigh to himself as he says.
"Very well...

The Demonic Orcs marched into the village, each step thunderous under the weight of their prize.
The Great Mammoth’s carcass dragged trenches in the dirt, its blood leaving a steaming trail behind them. The creature’s size made it clear, this was no ordinary hunt.
This was a triumph for the hunters, as the kill was great.
A crowd gathered near the central fire pit, where crude stone altars and bone-strewn racks framed the village’s heart.
Curious eyes peered out from under furred hoods and spiked helms, some with tusks jutting up from their lower jaws, others with thick ropes of braided hair swinging as they moved.
Soon they meet the chief man, at the hunting altar.
He emerged from a longhouse forged from blackened timber and plated with rusted steel.
Towering over the others even without armor, the chief’s presence was a whole different ball game all its own.
His skin was charred black as the rest, and across his chest were ritual scars carved deeply in his chest, as the wound glowed.
His horns were unlike the others: polished and plated in silver, curled upward like a crown.
His eyes burned with a baleful crimson, and large battle axe coated in bloody bandages cover it’s great blade.
He watches as the group came before the hunting altar and greet him with triumphant smiles.
The warriors then dropped the mammoth carcass with a wet thud before him.
"Chief Gorrmash."
One of them growled proudly, thumping his chest.
"The Great Mammoth has fallen. The hunt was good... We feast good tonight."
Gorrmash stepped closer, examining the beast with a snort.
"A fine kill."
He rumbled, voice like rolling stone.
"Its heart will burn tonight. Let all know our strength... For tommarow we invade the tree wans village eat now, breed tommarow."
But before the moment could settle, another orc, smaller and faster, burst through the haze of smoke.
"Chief! Chief."
He barked, dropping to one knee.
"We’ve spotted something. A human. Standing alone at the front gate."
"Human?"
The chief said confused.
