Chapter 118: Worlds Apart
"Okay, okay, real talk big sis, um how the hell are we even going to get to the Human World?"
Adam asked, adjusting his jacket as the training grounds behind him still sizzled from the lingering heat of Collapse World.
Priscilla, meanwhile, stood with her usual grace, arms crossed under her chest, posture regal like a queen inspecting a soldier, as she replied back saying as such.
"Magic, of course."
She replied, as if it were the most obvious thing in the world.
"How else?"
Adam raised an eyebrow at this explanation, as he had studied that some monsters usually find these things call World Cracks that usually appear at random places in the Monster World.
And it usually leads to another worlds, although the location is not set, this is the most dangerous means of travel as World Cracks can either take you back in time.
Send you to another parrel universe.
Send you to another world like the Human World for example.
Because of their unpredictable nature, using World Cracks for travel was considered highly dangerous. These phenomena were mysterious, unsolvable anomalies that occurred frequently in the Astrum feild.
As such, anyone attempting to cross through one was always advised to prepare for the worst. Once you entered, there was no turning back... World Cracks were strictly one-way paths.
That said, they weren’t the only method of inter-world travel.
Certain monsters, like the Siphe and the Hegrals, possessed the ability to manipulate space and time, allowing them to move between worlds at will.
Alternatively, one could rely on specialized artifacts designed specifically for world traversal, making the journey far safer and more stable.
Through his studies, Adam also discovered that the rarest method of world travel came through the uses of Lore Abilities.
While the second rarest method was through magic itself, specifically, highly advanced and ancient forms.
Universally, there exists spells that could do that but there were rare and to find a spiritualist with that ability was like finding the philosopher stone in the world of magic.
And despite Adam being suprise that Priscilla could do this on a whim, at the same time it was not so shocking given how powerful she is.
For that reason Adam looked at her and said.
"...You have spell for everything don’t you big sis?"
"Ufufufu... That, my dear, is for me to know and you to ponder. But do allow me to enlighten your poor, uninformed self, long before I ascended to the rank of Shinso, I transported kings, warlords, and entire battalions across the cosmos without so much as a crease in their silken garb. Such is the calibre of my magic. Do try to keep up."
Priscilla said with an arrogant smile as she nods her head.
Making Adam replied to her staying.
"Cool. So, uh... what kind of spell are we talking about here?"
Adam asked, arms folded now, mirroring her stance a little without realizing it.
Priscilla’s smirk grew a touch wider as she said.
"One I’d wager you’ll be copying the moment you see it."
"Probably."
Adam replied casually.
That earned a small scoff from her, as she said with annoyed but flat tone
"Arrogant brat."
But reversed on her by saying.
"Beautiful tyrant."
Her crimson eyes narrowed, but she didn’t deny it, although she began to blush again in embarrassment.
Then she uncrossed her arms and turned, the long ends of her blood red dress flaring dramatically with the motion.
As she quickly change the topic.
"Observe carefully. This isn’t some back-alley teleportation gimmick like Spatial Rift. This is is advance magic, the practice we will be using to cast it is Hybrid theory."
"And the name of this spell is called "Universal Jump," a magic that can make us cross different worlds regardless of distances."
Naturally Adam listen to her with open ears, as he he watches her cast the spell.
Priscilla then began to extended her right hand forward.
The air around her shimmered with space and time Astrum. And a magic circles began to bloom beneath her, layered atop one another in complex interwoven spirit runes as she began to use Hybrid magic, and a fundamental type spell nonetheless.
Dozens of spirit runes form by the thousands as small magic circles fit there way into bigger ones, as they layered within one another.
Each being code with different purpose.
It was smaller in nature than Morgans 11 Kingdom Array spell. But the complexity of it was fsr surpass it despite it’s small scale and singular purpose.
Not much Astrum would be needed here as Priscilla coded the circle to be fixed in place once cast, and self regenerative to keep the Astrum flow maintaining within it, among other fail safe programs she has scripted within the spell to make it a low cost use for the grand purpose it shall serve.
Adam’s eyes widened, at the sight of this, as he was already begining to copy this spell for himself. With each code being set, and each mechanics being initialize he could not help but say in utter disbelief.
"Holy shit!"
The space directly in front of her cracked open with the portal...not visually, but conceptually. As if reality was being folded paper-thin, between two fingers, similar to spatial rift when casted.
And as she begins to cast spell she also began explain a little about the human world.
"The Human World and the Monster World are separated by series of unreachable infinities you see."
Priscilla began, her voice calm, almost teacher-like now.
"The logical void were it resides, and the supernatural void were we reside cannot normally intersect. One belongs to the Logical Void, a realm of cause and effect, physics, and reason. The other, our world, floats within the Supernatural Void, where the impossible is commonplace between the supernatural worlds, and other things that exist within them."
She moved her hand gently forward, tracing the last spirit runes as if playing an invisible harp.
Her fingers never actually touched the symbols, they just danced above them with practiced ease, as she decide to draw the last bits of them out like this one by one utilizing her own personal and original design to this spell.
"Normally...
She continued.
"This distance is... impassable. Not because there’s a thick wall or long ladder between them. But because there’s no bridge between anything at all to establish a quantifiable distance."
"Their just two different voids of existence in the Astrum feild with two different systems of operation."
"What we call common sense those from this side does not, they have limits on that side, while things on this side are cast into mysterious and unknown...in a way this is higher plane of existence altogther."
"To make it simple my dear student, the supernatural void is a paranormal nexus that’s holds all things than are illogical to scientific reason. When creating a fantasy book you as the author is akin to God."
"You can make anything happen in your book regardless of non-sensensical it is. That exactly how this place works. It does not need reason to be explainable or abide to common sense. Because things that makes zero sense at face value are things that you can find in this place."
This amaze Adam, however the way how she described this place made him think of Beatrice and Kaplana’s world as he said to himself.
’...is this similar to Kaplana world then, between two immense differences or whatever the fuck she was on about... Hmm maybe Beatrice is using some of her shit to make the universe she yeet me in.’
That aside though Adam replied to Priscilla saying.
"And I am guessing you are about to build a bridge right?"
Asked Adam and Priscilla replied.
"No."
"No... It’s more simple than that, what I am making using this spell is a portal that is more of Law or Concept of Space and Time itself to make a pathway from here to the Human World."
Right after she said that the spell activated.
