As midnight approached, Roland found himself in a difficult situation. Pressured by Yukio, he had no choice but to sleep in Haruno’s room that night, a situation that filled him with dread.

"Come in," Haruno’s voice called from inside, sounding rather listless. Well, no wonder, Roland thought. Having a grown man staying in your private room can’t be easy. If a relative came to your house and your family made them share your bed, you’d probably feel the same way.

But if he offered to sleep on the sofa, that might ease her mood, right?

So, the first thing Roland did upon entering the room was head straight for the sofa.

"Big sister Haruno, about tonight... I can sleep on the sofa," Roland said to Haruno, who had already changed into her pajamas and was tucked into bed.

"Why would you sleep there? Get in bed," Haruno replied, sounding displeased.

"Uh... given our current relationship, sharing a bed might not be appropriate, right?"

"What, do you still have a problem with me?"

"Of course not. It’s just to appease Aunt Yukio. There’s no need to take this act too far, right?"

"You underestimate my mother. Do you really think she won’t come in to check on us? If she finds out I’ve kicked her precious Little Roland to the couch, I’ll be the one in trouble."

"We could just lock the door from the inside."

"She has a spare key, thank you. Look, I don’t have time for this. Just get up here. You’re a grown man, stop being so fussy." Haruno’s voice was laced with impatience.

It was clear she really didn’t want to waste time.

Normally, when it came to sharing a bed, Haruno would tease him for at least ten minutes, then make him crawl into bed under her playful gaze.

But now, she seemed listless, completely uninterested in teasing him, like someone rudely awakened from a nap, her tone full of resentment.

Out of curiosity, Roland specifically opened the supernatural category and browsed through it. He found the items there increasingly tempting, such as well-known superpowers like telekinesis and hypnosis.
