Chapter 36 - 36 36 The Secret in the Phone
36: Chapter 36: The Secret in the Phone 36: Chapter 36: The Secret in the Phone The woman, extremely voluptuous and dressed in a thin, dark cyan shirt, warmly welcomed Yang Fan into her home.
After making a cup of tea, she asked Yang Fan to rest while she searched for something.
By the time Yang Fan had finished his tea, she had squeezed through the door carrying a huge woven bag.
The woman placed the items by Yang Fan’s feet, fanned her cheek with her hand, and said, “Take a look at these things first.
I’ll find more for you.
Years as a clerk haven’t earned me much, but I’ve collected quite a bit of junk.
Look through them, and we can discuss the price for the ones you want; I’ll handle the rest myself.”
Yang Fan was about to agree when he glanced into the bag, spotted the Maozi Bottle, and hurriedly said to the woman, “Sister, maybe don’t go just yet.
Let’s check these out first.”
These items were not a joke—worth thousands of yuan casually, and even more if they were from specific years.
If the owner wasn’t here, he could easily find himself unable to walk away.
“Okay, let’s have a look first.” The woman pulled up her loose dark cyan capris and squatted down beside him.
She began pulling items out of the bag one by one, “There’s lots of useless things like tobacco and alcohol.
There are some medicinal materials too, but not much.
Look at this box of old ginseng, I remember it’s quite expensive.
And this is antler.
This stick here, I don’t recognize, but you might know, so take a look for yourself.”
Yang Fan’s brain started to twitch.
Good lord, was this woman planning to buy him out?
No, that’s not right.
He might not even be worth all these items.
Of the items the woman had taken out, only the antler was something Yang Fan might remotely handle.
As for the rest, it was better not to touch them.
Despite the exquisite packaging, the ginseng was obviously age-old, highly valuable—expensive for sure, and definitely out of his purchasing ability.
“Sister, you really overestimate me.
I truly am not worthy of these items,” Yang Fan said with a bitter smile, “If you indeed want to sell, I’d suggest you go to a pawnshop.
They should offer you a reasonable price.”
“Unworthy?
Brother, are you kidding me?
How much could these things possibly cost?
Just give me an offer for them, maybe we can reach an agreement,” the woman said with a smile, looking up.
Yang Fan glanced into the slightly open collar of the woman’s shirt.
Voluptuous women never lacked substantial assets—so white and large, pressed together like two big steamed buns, with a crevice too deep to see the bottom.
“Sister, if you really need to sell quickly, I can only afford this box of antler.
As for the others, I truly am not worthy.
Whether this ginseng is wild, I can’t tell from just looking, but it’s definitely old and valuable, worth at least a few ten thousand,” Yang Fan said, shifting his gaze away naturally, speaking earnestly.
The woman picked up the box of ginseng, murmured, “Is this thing really that expensive?
I thought it was just a few hundred yuan.”
Yang Fan: …
His heart pained as if he had missed an opportunity for a great deal.
“Brother, you are a sincere man.
Wait here a bit longer, I’ve got some other little trinkets at home to fetch for you,” the woman said, tossing the box of ginseng into the bag like it was trash and patting it.
Yang Fan cringed inside watching her actions; a little smash, and there goes a few thousand yuan.
The world of the wealthy, utterly unimaginable for him, a poor fellow.
But indeed, he had always prioritized honesty in business, which was why he had managed to maintain so many clients over the years.
Being less cunning actually made for longer-lasting business relationships.
Although there were many swindlers around, not everyone was easy to fool.
The woman stood up, fumbled around her groin, tugged at her loose trousers and, swinging her voluptuous body, left again.
Though her movement was quick and secretive, an inadvertent glance from Yang Fan still caught sight of something he shouldn’t have seen.
Because of the way her trousers were hauled, the woman’s true shape was suddenly revealed, quite plump and appealing.
It seemed that her body tended to sweat easily, and even though her trousers were both thin and loose, squatting down for a moment had still caused them to cling to her buttocks.
Yang Fan waited another ten minutes, and the woman once again squeezed back in with a woven bag in tow.
“Young man, take a look at these.
There’s a lot in here that I don’t even know what to do with.
Pick and see if there’s anything you like,” the woman said as she set the bag down at Yang Fan’s feet and opened it.
Seeing the contents, Yang Fan immediately felt a profound sense of helplessness.
It appeared this lady had mistaken him for a junk collector.
The bag indeed contained everything, from electronic gadgets and figurines to collectibles and more, a wide variety.
Although it was a misunderstanding, the bag of items still piqued Yang Fan’s interest.
If there was anything useful, he could certainly take them.
“Sister, are you looking to get rid of these phones?” Yang Fan asked, picking up a phone that looked barely used.
“My husband is pretty addicted to electronics.
He barely uses them once a new model comes out.
Look how many he’s switched over the years.
If you like, take them all for two hundred yuan.
But pick carefully, choose the ones that work,” the woman boldly stated, displaying an indifferent attitude toward all the items.
Yang Fan nodded, pressed the power button, and to his surprise, it actually turned on.
Not to mention anything else, the battery of this phone was definitely good.
“Wait a moment, I’ll find you a charger,” the woman said after seeing this.
Yang Fan thanked her; though the phone had powered up, it immediately showed a low battery warning, so he really needed a charger.
While waiting for the woman to return, Yang Fan casually browsed through it.
Although the phone had no password, it still retained traces of the previous owner’s usage.
Yang Fan checked the specs and inspected the various functionalities; almost everything was intact.
The woman quickly returned with a charger and helped Yang Fan charge it at his side, asking, “Does it work?”
“This is quite good, I’ll take it,” Yang Fan responded, two hundred yuan for a high-spec device like this was truly a bargain.
This phone was almost six thousand when it was first released, and that was just over a year ago.
“Sister, none of the data here has been erased.
I’ll handle it for you and then take it away,” Yang Fan said as he quickly maneuvered through the phone.
“Oh right, right, you do need to handle that, it’s about privacy, isn’t it?” the woman said.
Yang Fan’s expression suddenly turned blank as a bunch of videos popped up from the hidden folder.
This…
seemed to indeed involve privacy.
