YUNO’s first day of work started with Bambi showing him around the Bureau.

The S-Class Guide introduced him to the people he’d be working with, even though he would only be there every Friday.

Then, finally, Bambi brought him to the 17th floor.

And wow.

The office was so fancy.

Each station was like a small room— the table was spacious, the computer was the latest model in the world, and the chair was big and comfortable.

But there were only five fancy stations there.

Obviously, those stations belong to Guide Bambi-ssi, Guide Kim Jaeha, and the three Guides with them.

That meant the sad, simple station in the corner of the room belonged to Yuno.

Basic desk, basic office chair, basic computer set.

It’s okay— I’ll only be here once a week anyway.

"Everyone, this is Noh Yuno-ssi— a B-Class Guide," Bambi introduced Yuno to the team. "It hasn’t been announced to the public yet, but Guide Noh Yuno-ssi is Esper Ki Gayoon-ssi’s exclusive Guide."

Only Kim Jaeha looked genuinely happy for Yuno.

The three other Guides, not so much.

Well, I already expected that since I’ve seen these people on the news several times.

Those Guides were the exclusive Guides of the Top 5 Espers of the country.

"Guide Yuno-ssi, this is Guide Mo Hanjin-ssi— an A-Class Guide," Bambi introduced the handsome man with jet-black hair and sharp features (and was busy playing with his phone). "Guide Hanjin-ssi is Esper Lee Sarang’s exclusive Guide."

Lee Sarang was the #2 strongest Esper in South Korea— a natural S-Class.

"Guide Hanjin-ssi is thirty years old, and that makes him the oldest member of the group."

Yuno bowed his head towards Mo Hanjin. "Hello, sir."

Mo Hanjin just raised his hand, not even throwing a glance at Yuno.

Aigoo.

Isn’t he too old to be acting like a middle-schooler in his edge-lord phase?

"I know you already know him, but let’s make it official," Bambi said, politely pointing at Kim Jaeha with his hands. "This is Guide Kim Jaeha-ssi, the A-Class Guide in charge of Esper Matthew-ssi."

Matthew was the asshole Esper that also happened to be the #3 Esper in the country— also a natural S-Class.

"Guide Jaeha-ssi is our team’s maknae, but he’s your sunbae-nim, Guide Yuno-ssi."

It didn’t matter that Yuno awakened ten years ago— he was the newest addition to the team, so that made Kim Jaeha his senior.

That’s fine with me.

Yuno bowed his head again. "Hello, sir."

"I-I’m only twenty years old, Guide Yuno-ssi," Kim Jaeha said shyly while waving his hands. "Please speak comfortably! You don’t have to use honorifics with me!"

"Stop being timid, Kim Jaeha~"

The female Guide in the room teased the youngest who just blushed harder.

"That’s Guide Rebecca-ssi," Bambi said, pointing to the tall, blonde, and green-eyed lady. "She’s the A-Class Guide responsible for Esper Jin Sooin."

Jin Sooin was the #4 Esper in the country— a natural S-Class, too.

"Guide Rebecca-ssi is just a year younger than Guide Hanjin-ssi, so she’s older than you, Yuno-ssi."

Yuno bowed his head towards Rebecca. "Hello, ma’am."

Rebecca just smiled and waved at Yuno.

Now there was only one Guide left.

Strangely, I’m not familiar with this one.

"I can’t believe we accepted a B-Class Guide in this elite team."

Aigoo.

Elitist much?

The complaint came from the last Guide to be introduced.

Why is he complaining when A-Class Guides are just one level above B-Class Guides? This dude would have probably thrown me to the garbage bin had I been introduced as an E-Class Guide.

"That’s Guide Choi Kangmin, an A-Class Guide," Bambi said while pointing to the twink-looking dude with red hair. "He’s Esper Yang Youngjae’s exclusive Guide."

Ah.

Yang Youngjae, the #5 Esper in the country— not a natural S-Class.

If I remember correctly, Esper Yang Youngjae-ssi awakened as an A-Class. But he worked hard until he leveled up and became the 5th strongest Esper in the country.

"Team Leader, we pride ourselves in the fact that we’re the elite Guides in charge of the Top 5 Espers in the entire country," Choi Kangmin continued to complain to Bambi. "I understand that he’s lucky enough to have a 76% matching rate with Esper Ki Gayoon, but he’s just a mere B-Class Guide."

76%?

Oh, right.

We can’t reveal the fact that Ahjuhyung and I have a 100% matching rate.

"I understand where you’re coming from, Guide Kangmin-ssi," Bambi said calmly while patting Choi Kangmin’s shoulder. "But what can I do? The decision was made by the higher-ups."

Choi Kangmin looked dissatisfied, and then he glared at Yuno. "You’re just a B-Class Guide— so don’t delude yourself into thinking you’re one of us, Noh Yuno."

Classist much?

Yuno didn’t have the energy to talk back, so he just bowed his head. "Yes, sir."

"Don’t fight," Bambi said half-heartedly. "Guide Yuno-ssi, Guide Kangmin-ssi, you’re the same age. So please try to get along."

What the fuck?

This dude is the same age and yet he talks down to me?

"I still can’t believe that Esper Ki Gayoon chose that B-Class over an S-Class Guide like you, Team Leader," Choi Kangmin said while looking at Yuno up and down— obviously judging Yuno poorly. "Team Leader is more beautiful, more elegant, and definitely more capable than this lame-looking B-Class Guide. I wonder why Esper Ki Gayoon chose him over someone as perfect as Guide Bambi-ssi."

"Well, I don’t drug or sexually assault Espers," Yuno said bluntly, shocking everyone in the room— yes, including Bambi who turned red as if he was embarrassed (or angry, whatever). "That’s probably why Esper Ki Gayoon felt safe enough to choose me as his exclusive Guide."

The silence in the room was deafening.

And the different reactions Yuno got were funny.

Of course, Bambi had a murderous look on his face while glaring at Yuno.

Mo Hanjin, the Guide busy playing with his phone earlier, dropped his gadget on the floor at the same his jaw did.

Kim Jaeha covered his mouth with his hands when he gasped.

Rebecca’s reaction was refreshing because she almost laughed— but in the end, she faked a cough to hide her laughter.

Aigoo.

Yuno looked at the troll with dead eyes. "Is that answer enough, Choi Kangmin?"

Choi Kangmin got over his shock, but he got even more upset with Yuno now. "Why are you talking to me informally?"

"You did it first," Yuno said casually, shrugging. "Let’s talk informally since we’re the same age, Kangmin-ah."

It was official— Yuno made a bad first impression on his new co-workers.
