"Yes, Team Leader," Yuno said calmly while nodding his head in response to Bambi’s question. "He was the one who taught me about harvesting Cores. I think he used them to make poisons that only work on Espers."

Bambi fell silent as if he was in deep thought.

"Yes," Ki Gayoon said without missing a heartbeat. "But I get why you’re suspicious of him. You bastards are used to betraying people after getting what you want from them, so you think everyone is like you. You’re too afraid of your own shadows."

I thought we were supposed to cooperate with each other?

"Must you always start a fight, Ki Gayoon?" Ryu Sungbin asked, sighing as if he was getting fed up with Ki Gayoon’s attitude. "We promised to cooperate with you until we catch the serial killer, didn’t we?"

Ki Gayoon smirked haughtily.

Yuno knew that his Esper was about to say something really mean, so he touched Ki Gayoon’s leg to stop him from starting a fight.

Ki Gayoon immediately turned to him with a scowl. "Not here, Yuno-ya. I’ll spoil you later, but your hyung is busy defending your honor."

Gayoon Hyung is obviously talking sweetly to me on purpose!

"What are you talking about?" Yuno asked, playing dumb. And then he pinched Ki Gayoon’s leg lightly. "Hyung, please shut up for ten minutes before I start cursing your hairline again."

Ki Gayoon smirked, and then he acted like he was zipping up his mouth.

Yuno then faced Bambi and Ryu Sungbin again.

Yuno’s casual remark made the ambiance awkward for some reason.

But why? It’s not like it’s a secret that Guides were killed in the Lab. The only information kept hidden from the public is the fact that those Guides were E-Class Guides.

"Yes, Hyung?"

"Rule number four," Ki Gayoon said, sighing while shaking his head. "Don’t casually reveal your traumatic experiences."

"Oh," Yuno said, realizing his mistake. "Did it sound like I’m trauma-dumping on you? I’m sorry about that."

"No, it’s not like that," Ki Gayoon said firmly. "I’m just worried that this conversation is forcing you to relieve your traumatic past."

So, Hyung is just worried about my mental health.

"I understand, Hyung. But don’t worry, I’m fine," Yuno assured Ki Gayoon, and then he faced Bambi again. "Team Leader, is it okay if I don’t go to work in the meantime?"

"Give me a reason why I should allow your leave of absence."

"I don’t want the enemies to realize that I have the ability to easily fix the damage that they caused Gayoon Hyung," Yuno explained carefully. "I caught their attention by standing out. But, this time, I want to lay low until the party three days from now."

"How about our daily lessons?"

"All of you have already mastered the flow of your Mana. We can just continue the lesson via videocall."

Bambi looked like he was contemplating.

I mean, our country has one of the fastest internet connections in the world— so let’s make use of that.

"Alright," Bambi said, nodding. "Let’s do that."

"Thank you, Team Leader," Yuno said politely. "I have something I want to teach you, so please set-up our first videocall meeting as soon as possible."

AFTER YUNO’s meeting with Bambi, he went straight to Seowon Hospital to meet Moon Noa.

Of course, Ki Gayoon was still with him.

"It’s almost lunchtime," Ki Gayoon said while they were walking in the hallway leading to Haru’s room. "We should have grabbed lunch first."

"Let’s ask Sajangnim to eat with us," Yuno said, covering his mouth with his hands when he yawned. "I’m sure Sajangnim hasn’t eaten yet."

Moon Noa would often forget his meal when he was fixated on something.

Based on Sajangnim’s text messages, it looks like he stayed the entire night studying the black substance that he found in Haru-nim’s body.

"So fucking annoying."

Yuno turned to Ki Gayoon after the Esper cursed under his breath. "What’s wrong, Hyung?"

"The prince bastard’s shadow bodyguards are all over the place," Ki Gayoon said, clicking his tongue. "How dare those bastards keep an eye on us? Should I just kill them all?"

After Ki Gayoon’s threatening remarks, Yuno finally felt the presence of Espers hiding around them.

It was because those Espers suddenly released their bloodlust.

I don’t think they understood Korean— but I bet they understood Gayoon Hyung’s hostility, so they suddenly became hostile as well.

Yuno pretended he didn’t hear the Esper’s complaint.

"See?" Ki Gayoon chuckled while shaking his head. "You’re doing it again."

Yuno just rolled his eyes, and then he tried to let go of Ki Gayoon’s hand to knock on the door.

But the Esper didn’t let him do that.

Ki Gayoon then used his telekinesis power to open the door without knocking first.

Aigoo.

Hyung says using his telekinesis power to lift me is a waste of energy, but he uses his ability on mundane tasks.

Yuno was startled when he heard the loud slapping noise as soon as they entered the room.

And that noise came from Moon Noa slapping Haru across the cheek.

It was a hard slap since the corner of Haru’s mouth bled right away.

"You bastard," Moon Noa said in a cold, angry tone. "Since when did you treat Guides like a disposable charger, huh?"

Haru neither confirmed nor denied Moon Noa’s accusation.

Yuno suddenly felt awkward since that didn’t sound like the Haru that he knew and respected.
