Greatest Legacy of the Magus Universe -
Chapter 916 - 916: Wrath of Ignisra
Hearing those words, Rowan's body shuddered. His heart was gripped by a terrifying foreboding feeling.
No, no, no, this can't be!
He thought to himself as his eyes slowly started to tear up.
How could this happen?!
Beside him, his wife and children were incessantly sobbing. Before Rowan could even direct his attention toward them, the Magi had already begun their battle.
Kaspar York dashed toward the crooked cultist, his speed and strength belying his old age.
The elderly Magus's legs were wrapped in green, magical energy as he arrived before the cultist within a few seconds.
BAM!
The proud Magus of the Ignisra Kingdom conjured a spear and slammed it down vertically on the crooked Magus's head.
However, the cultist was not one to be trifled with.
Brandishing his poison-coated daggers, he brought his arms forward and, with slight effort, defended against the vicious attack.
"You're not too bad, old Magus." The cultist snickered, his murky eyes flashing with malevolence.
"Identify yourself," Kaspar muttered in a cold voice, his voice dripping with hostility.
At the same time, he applied tremendous strength to his arms, causing the cultist's legs to tremble under the pressure.
At once, the smirk on the cultist's face vanished, replaced by grim conviction.
"As I thought…" he murmured. "I alone won't be enough to handle you."
Kaspar York's eyes narrowed. He couldn't help but wonder if his worst suspicions had come true… that these two Mana Vortex Magi weren't the only ones lying in ambush!
However, the crooked cultist's following words shattered his speculations, and at the same time, filled his heart with a heavy sense of solemnity.
"You see, a necromancer never fights alone!"
In the next moment, the cultist shifted his weight to the side, parrying the spear and letting it strike the ground beside him.
Without wasting a breath, he put away his daggers as he retreated and began weaving hand seals to summon his undead creatures!
Kaspar's eyes narrowed at the sudden development. He knew that if he allowed the necromancer to summon the undead creatures, then he would be left at a severe disadvantage.
The following moment, he coated both his spear and the hand wielding it with mana, then hurled the weapon towards the necromancer with ruthless force.
The cultist's eyes widened as the spear tore through the air, coming at him with terrifying speed and accuracy.
There was no time to evade!
Left with no other choice, he abandoned the physical component of the spell, summoned his daggers once more, and raised them to block the incoming spear.
BAM!
A coppery taste filled the cultist's mouth, and in the next moment, he coughed up blood.
Though he managed to block the attack, the force of it sent him flying, crashing several dozen meters away. His arms were numb from the pain.
In his mind, only one thought echoed over and over again:
This old man is truly a dangerous opponent!
Furthermore, he was constantly on the lookout for other Magi ambushing him. So, he had to divert his attention while battling this old monster.
Quickly getting to his feet, he got ready to fight again.
But then…
The scene that greeted him caused his eyes to widen in disbelief.
Kaspar York descended from the sky, like the harbinger of fiery destruction. On either side of him, two massive flaming spheres materialized.
"Damned necromancer!" the elderly magus growled, his words laced with killing intent. "You dare lay your wicked hands on us… Then witness the wrath of Ignisra!"
Veins bulged along his arms as he thrust them forward.
Rank 3 Spell: Great Fireball!
The two blazing spheres shot through the air, threatening to engulf the crooked cultist in an inferno of searing flames!
"You bastard!" The crooked cultist cursed aloud.
The Great Fireballs were almost upon him. He could not evade the incoming attack, and he surely couldn't block them.
Something about Kaspar's fire magic filled the cultist with a deep sense of dread.
In a panic, he quickly conjured an artifact in the shape of a femur bone. Just as he was about to be swallowed by the Great Fireballs, he poured mana into the artifact and activated it.
BOOOM!!

On the other battlefield, Anna, Daryl, and Ada rushed toward Hayes Ballard, grim determination etched on their faces.
They were fighting against a Mana Vortex Magus, after all. If they wanted to survive, they couldn't afford to make a single mistake.
There was no time to think about why they were suddenly attacked, or what the identities of these two Magi were.
All that mattered was their survival.
That being said, it definitely was not going to be easy to try and survive this battle against a Magus one entire rank above them.
The gaps between each rank increased the higher one climbed the arcane ladder.
Three Mana Foundation Magi battling a Mana Liquefaction Magus might have a chance to defeat the latter…
But three Mana Liquefaction Magi against a Mana Vortex Magus?
Things did not look good for Anna and her entourage.
But such a thing could never stop the proud Princess of Ignisra!
She quickly dashed across the battlefield and arrived before Hayes, not giving him any time to weave hand seals. Without hesitation, she swung her sword upward in a sharp diagonal arc, aiming straight for his throat.
Hayes Ballard's pupils constricted as he saw the blade slashing toward his vital point with deadly precision.
From Anna's movements, he could clearly tell that the woman possessed immense combat experience.
The swing of her sword carried a single, unwavering purpose…
To Kill.
The blond Magus calmly leaned to the side, allowing the flaming blade to whistle past his neck.
He raised his left hand, ready to strike the crimson-haired woman down to the ground… but then his eyes narrowed.
He was suddenly forced to go on the defensive.
Using the momentum of her missed strike, Anna pivoted her body and spun, delivering a devastating reverse round-house kick aimed straight at Ballard's head!
But it wasn't just the power of the leg strike that caught Ballard off guard. No, it was that Anna's foot was enveloped in terrifying flames.
BAM!
Hayes Ballard raised his arms to block the kick, but he couldn't help but slightly grimace. Before he could counterattack, however, Anna had already slipped several meters back.
The blond Magus's eyes were drawn towards Anna's iron-clad boots and greaves, and he coldly muttered, "Rank 3 artifacts…"
But there was no time to dwell on that, as he was suddenly besieged by a hail of ice spears and slicing wind blades.
Ada and Daryl had made their moves!
