Chapter 86 The Fairy’s Guardian Knight Order
Chapter 86: Chapter 86 The Fairy’s Guardian Knight Order
Noah, who had completed the main design of Mage City, descended the mountain with curiosity and entered Elisium City.
Noah had been considering that if his foster mother, Selena, was too harsh on the fairies, he would speak out, allowing these little creatures to relax a bit, as even a good sleep shouldn’t become a luxury.
But his foster mother gave an unexpected answer. When Noah continued to inquire, she simply smiled without saying a word and urged Noah to see for himself.
Now, Noah personally came to the fairies’ office site. Compared to before his deep sleep, the arrangements were almost unchanged, but the other changes were numerous.
The most notable difference was that the number of little fairies had increased tenfold since back then.
Little fairies fluttered with their tiny wings, weaving through the air with orderly precision. Just this was not so astonishing.
However, during his year of slumber, these little fairies’ activities had expanded beyond the Duke Mansions. Their range of action now extended to Elisium City and even further.
Noah, using the Invisibility Technique to temporarily conceal his form, silently followed a group of outgoing little fairies, watching as these small beings woke cute creatures nestled in aerial perches from their slumber.
Meow~
The furry ball, its sleep disturbed, stretched lazily and protested with a displeased meow. But well-prepared little fairies quickly offered delectable treats to appease the disgruntled furball.
Soon, these little fellows busied themselves, grooming the lazy furball and swiftly fastening the reins of a flying car around the cat’s neck.
The whole process was smooth, seamless coordination, showcasing the team collaboration of these little fairies while indicating their proficiency. Clearly, they had done it countless times.
At the same moment the reins were secured, the cat, having enjoyed the fairies’ offerings, shook its head gently. Its smooth fur fluttered, and the little fairies took the opportunity to orderly enter a cat car suited to their size.
When all the fairies were seated, the big cat, satiated, spread its wings folded beside its body, leaped lightly, towing the cat car into the sky.
Noah watched as the cat car flew low along the rooftops, gradually distancing itself. He looked around; similar scenes were plentiful around the Duke Mansion’s outskirts, with many cat cars setting off or returning.
The winged cat, presumably a magical creature born of experimentation, possessed a feline form, or rather, shared its origin.
The difference was that winged cats had wings capable of gliding at low altitudes, making them the first choice as magical pets for many mages, rangers, and kind-hearted beings.
Noah truly hadn’t expected that his foster mother had provided a group of winged cats for the fairies. Not only that, but she even crafted cat cars tailored to their size.
However, this was just the fairies’ basic benefit. Noah didn’t see a single fairy express astonishment or envy over it. Riding a cat car was clearly a standard part of the fairies’ work.
The fairies even had higher specifications for travel. Noah looked up to the sky, uncertain whether it was mere coincidence or if such a procession was usually this frequent.
A flying convoy appeared in the distant sky, guarded by elite Sky Knights at both ends, advancing with great might.
As the convoy approached Elisium City, it gradually descended in altitude. The Flying Dragon Knights responsible for escorting landed sequentially when reaching the airspace above Elisium City, without entering the city.
Even so, a carriage pulled by four Unihorn Pegasi, escorted by six Griffin Knights, flying over the city was a resplendent sight.
Noah watched as a Great Fairy, wearing a gemstone tiara and wielding a mithril scepter, descended from a carriage that was like a small palace relative to her size, surrounded by sixteen little elves lifting her magnificent gown throughout the process.
Merely observing the Great Fairy’s demeanor and attire, someone unaware might mistake her for the legendary Fairy Queen from ancient lore.
"Such a grand display, I’ve never enjoyed such a scale of ceremony myself."
Noah deactivated his Invisibility Technique; however, he now appeared as a golden cat with fur shimmering under the sunlight, a form very familiar to the fairies.
"Your Highness Noah!"
The Great Fairy, who initially seemed queen-like, panicked upon seeing the golden cat perched in midair. She dropped her mithril scepter, took off her gemstone tiara, and timidly descended, her small body shivering.
She understood why she felt apprehension, and there was a persistent fear in her heart for reasons unknown. In her time among humans, she had acquired many of their habits, with her ideas having shifted considerably.
Thus, this Great Fairy knew well that when the Sect Master spoke such words, it rarely heralded good news.
"I remember your name, you’re Elfino, right? You’re the second evolved Great Fairy after Sifreya; I didn’t expect you’d achieve so much now."
Noah spoke with sincere admiration, understanding why his foster mother, upon hearing his question about oppressing the fairies, merely smiled and remained silent, telling him to see for himself.
How could this be considered oppression?
Just the look of this Great Fairy’s attire and the magical weapon in her hand would tempt even the most morally noble Metal Dragons to have sinful thoughts.
"Your Highness, I’m willing to offer everything to you."
"More than your offering, what intrigues me is how you acquired them. Could you tell me about it?"
Noah asked with a gentle tone, his words devoid of any anger.
The Golden Dragon wasn’t angry either; rather, he felt a strong curiosity because he knew there were reasons behind the doting affection and care from both his adoptive mother and father, despite having biological children.
Therefore, Noah was eager to discover what had happened during his deep sleep that allowed the fairies to receive such treatment. Surely, something had occurred.
After all, his foster mother was no philanthropist. On the contrary, any competent mage would hardly associate themselves with virtue, kindness, or mercy.
