Golden Dragon: Six Thousand Years of Empire -
Chapter 398 - 247: The Gift of Fate
Chapter 398: Chapter 247: The Gift of Fate
"There has been indirect contact secretly."
Wayne admitted without any hesitation, facing this Holy Dragon granduncle, he had no need to hide anything, for he knew too much.
Even if it was information from five years ago, which might be somewhat outdated now, he had no doubt that after awakening, he would quickly be able to control the overall situation and grasp everything.
"Tsk, you matured really fast, didn’t you deny it before?"
Noah remembered when Parvati actively sought out Wayne, this brat in front of him was utterly dismissive, completely uninterested in engaging, and not taking action was already his greatest restraint and tolerance.
"I still haven’t acknowledged her as my sister."
Wayne’s fake smile vanished from his face, and his tone became extremely cold,
"I just share common interests with her. She holds the weapon I need, and she needs my cooperation to gain more merits to solidify her status among the Elves."
"That’s also a sign of maturity, knowing how to compromise."
Noah knew Wayne needed the Dawn Sword in Parvati’s possession, which was a Divine Artifact bestowed by the Elf Main God. In Wayne’s understanding, this weapon could cut open the body of the Immortal King.
But Noah felt it was highly unlikely; not all Divine Artifacts are the same. Weapons used by Divine in a Divine War and those given for worldly believers’ use can both be called Divine Artifacts, but are they of the same level? Completely different.
One type is merely imbued with Divinity or Divine Power, while the other is a main battle weapon forged by Divine beings with all they have. The Dawn Sword that Parvati possesses is the former. No matter how generous the Elf Main God is, it’s impossible to throw down his main battle Divine Artifact, which is like discarding half his life.
Yet, how could a weapon just containing Divine Power and Divinity cut through a Divine Bone?
Ophelia brought down her father’s sword, and even Blazing Sky Old Deng’s incarnation couldn’t cleave open the great skeleton with it; it took a blow that crossed time and space for the true body to pierce it through.
Even so, what was wounded was merely the soul fire of the Immortal King; the damage to the Divine Bone could be said to be negligible, almost insignificant. Noah suspected that the damage to this piece of Divine Bone had already self-repaired.
Divine Bones possess the immortal property of a Divine, from which the Immortal King was born. His soul fire may be extinguished, but the Divine Bone may not necessarily be shattered.
"I haven’t compromised; this is manipulation."
Wayne clearly didn’t enjoy hearing such praise, as it made him appear opportunistic, weak, and without his own boundaries.
"Mutual manipulation, that’s quite fine."
Noah reiterated.
"Only this time. After this situation is resolved, I will have nothing more to do with her."
Wayne said coldly.
"Everything only happens zero times or countless times, never just once."
Noah said with a chuckle.
He most enjoyed seeing those stubborn types finally forced to bow to reality.
"Do you have anything else you want to ask?"
Wayne had lost the desire to continue communicating with this Golden Dragon in front of him.
"Hmm, nothing for now."
"I now need to meet with a Black Knight King."
The young man’s intention was very clear; he wanted to end the conversation with Noah.
"Black Knight King? Is this a Legendary Level Dark Knight? I’ve never seen an Undead of this level, do you mind if I observe?"
Noah asked with interest, not as a joke, but out of genuine curiosity about how Wayne would present himself as a Monarch in the Great Graveyard.
After all, this grandnephew was raised with his support, even if he hadn’t provided any material support, he still grew up in his territory.
"I mind very much."
Wayne said word by word,
"It is not yet time for me to be exposed."
"Alright, then get on with your work."
Noah looked regretful.
Pa~
At the moment his words fell, the image in the Communication Array collapsed. Clearly, the array on the other end had been treated very roughly, possibly destroyed.
"Young people these days don’t know how to respect their elders, truly a decline of social manners, and hearts are not what they used to be."
Noah sighed, acting like an old-fashioned elder, then revealing a bloodthirsty and malicious posture,
"As a granduncle, I must educate them well; I can’t let the youngsters go astray."
Ka-cha!
In the deep, silent depths of the Dark Palace, a clear shattering sound was heard, and the kneeling Black Knight King, with his ferocious black helmet, had the soul fire within it start to flicker violently, his previously tall and sturdy body pressed lower, appearing small and humble.
Even without raising his head, the Black Knight King could sense the source of the shattering sound; it was the Demon King’s throne, which had abruptly and without warning cracked.
"..."
Wayne lowered his head, staring at the skull embedded in the armrest of the throne, suddenly cracked open.
This throne was also scavenged from the Immortal King’s treasure vault, made from the bones of ninety-nine Great Prophets, a prophetic artifact.
It is said to foretell future dangers for its owner. Besides this, it has no further use. In a way, it’s quite a useless artifact.
Wayne brought it over mainly because he liked the outstanding aesthetics of this item named the Prophet’s Final Lament. However, now this artifact had shown its only power, foretelling the future dangers for Wayne.
"Dragon!"
The future revelation was remarkably vague, but that trace of winding gold was strikingly vivid, like a sun against the dark sky dome backdrop, swearing to banish all darkness and gloom.
