Golden Dragon: Six Thousand Years of Empire
Chapter 386 - 241: Sleep, Observation, Transformation

Chapter 386: Chapter 241: Sleep, Observation, Transformation

Noah’s hundredth birthday was very simple, with just three dragon partners and one hundred and twenty-seven Dragon Lords celebrating with him, holding a hundred-dragon feast that lasted thirty-six days.

The scale of the banquet was only limited to Noah’s palace, which was quite low-key given his current status, as the vast people of his territory did not know that their ruler had turned a hundred.

"I truly am a thrifty dragon!"

A birthday banquet spent nearly seventy million gold coins, and after it ended, a Golden Dragon could not help but lament.

Although the expenses of this banquet were almost comparable to half a month’s commercial tax in Elisium City, the attendees were all Giant Dragons.

These dragons who came to give Noah birthday gifts had no thought of saving during the feast; they ate and drank to their heart’s content, with many dragons having the notion of eating their fill to get their money’s worth.

Therefore, this birthday banquet of Noah’s was indeed low-key, with expenses focused on food and drink, which in no way related to wastefulness.

Of course, after these fellows ate and drank well, Noah did not let them go, although they also gave him gifts, they also needed to fulfill their duties as subordinate lords.

Guardian of the Sect Master

The day of Noah’s deep sleep was approaching, and he planned to go nowhere, not even to Mage City. He intended to fall into a deep sleep and undergo transformation in his newly built bedroom.

During his sleep, with each breath, he would assimilate the surrounding environment, forming an ecosystem with him at its core. Every species within this ecosystem would, to some extent, benefit based on their bloodline level. The weaker the species, the more benefits they would receive.

Simply put, Noah planned to grant benefits to his subjects. However, pure-blood Giant Dragons were not within the influence of Noah’s Ancestor Dragon bloodline. Though powerful, the Ancestor Dragon’s bloodline was not capable of altering pure-blood dragon species, something only the Dragon King could do.

The reason Noah summoned the Dragon Lords under his command to guard him was not just to emphasize his position as the Sect Master but to genuinely let them protect him.

This protection did not rely on the dragons’ combat power but on their status. Who could bear the consequence of harming over a hundred Metal Dragons roughly in the youth or adult stage?

Such casualties, without special reasons, would even anger the Dragon God in the Colorful Dragon Clan. Young dragons emerging from their shells, growing all the way to becoming adult dragons, is no easy journey.

"Ha~ choo~"

The Golden Dragon lay sprawled on its treasure bed, yawning lazily. Though getting progressively drowsier, falling truly into a sleep state wasn’t easy.

Most of the time, Noah hovered between a state of dozing and wakefulness, much like a nap, and after three years, he finally entered the deep sleep period.

"Your Highness~"

When the Dragon Fairies discovered that the elements in the surrounding atmosphere were being absorbed by Noah, with none being emitted, they confirmed that their Great Sect Master had fallen into a deep sleep.

With little panic, everything began to be arranged methodically. Noah’s palace was locked down, Giant guards patrolled all main pathways of the palace, and all the Dragon Lords were summoned to fulfill their guardian duties.

Actually, there was hardly anything to do. Noah had no apparent enemies, and the only hidden threat in the territory was the passage leading to the Dark Territory in the Valley of Flames, which had been peaceful for quite some time, with the governed underground clans living quite peaceful lives.

The Holy Dragon’s controlled territory was the most prosperous on Xilantia, with songs and dances in full sway. Its capital, Elisium, had never been ravaged by war since its establishment. Peace and prosperity had never left this city for a moment.

Everything seemed as it always had, as if it would never change. The residents long settled in this city almost regarded peace as a matter of course, with families having already thrived for six, even seven generations in Elisium.

For the new generation born with dragon scales, everything they enjoyed seemed so taken for granted, as if the world simply ought to be structured this way.

War and death were so distant, heard only in the stories of minstrels from afar, serving as amusing pastimes rather than a warning of sorts for them.

This couldn’t necessarily be deemed a bad thing, but being overly protected might not be a good thing either, as when danger comes, the senses dulled by prolonged peace may not respond promptly, greatly reducing survival rates.

Of course, the Dragon People under the protection of the Holy Dragon needn’t worry about this for the time being, perhaps not for dozens of generations to come, as the Holy Dragon they revered and admired had started another crucial transformation in its dragon life.

"No longer needing to rely on the world, the Giant Beast traversing the void..."

Noah watched the giant beast before him, bearing mountains and seas, shaking its head and splitting the space as it swam into the endless dark void, his eyes showing a contemplative expression,

"Could this thing be the ancestor of the Heavenly Veil Giant Beast?"

This was an Ancient God-like creature resembling a giant whale, quite similar to the Heavenly Veil Giant Beasts still active in various Material Realms today. Only, it was much larger, truly akin to a small floating continent.
