Chapter 383: Chapter 239 Prosperous Golden Tree_2

Compared to the army personally led by Uranos, the Elf Court’s army was laughable, suffering consecutive defeats, winning rarely, and even those victories were insignificant and had no impact.

The performances of the two nations’ armies were extreme opposites, completely contrary to each other, at least in the eyes of outsiders who didn’t know the inside story.

The elves, indulged in the glory and brilliance of the past, are now so decayed, their military is lax, responses sluggish, morale low, and the commanders short-sighted and extremely foolish.

The highest decision-making level is even worse, attacking each other for their own interests with no awareness of the bigger picture, leading to continuous loss of cities and land for the Elf Court, almost allowing the Undead army to reach the capital, Serenfain.

Although the Elf Court does indeed have many problems, including chaos within the ancient forces and lack of unified commands, the foundation of the Elf Race is there, and it shouldn’t perform so poorly.

Yet, in all calculations, the elves found it hard to anticipate that their opponents, and their own allies, could cooperate against them.

Even if Noah did not lose his bottom line and sold the elves’ intelligence to the undead, Uranos, who almost controls the entire situation, could easily use the elves’ power to deplete the Undead Army, making it almost certain that the elves would be exploited to the point of crying.

As for whether it would cause psychological pressure or a moral burden, Uranos, as the monarch, expressed having none of it. The undead must be killed by someone. If the elves don’t go up to fight, should my knights sacrifice themselves instead?

Choosing between letting his knights die or letting the elves wail across the lands, Uranos didn’t need to ponder. Any competent ruler would make such a choice, as this wasn’t really a choice.

A ruler stupid enough to suppress and exploit his own subjects while benefitting so-called allies, without knowing his own fundamental base, shouldn’t be a king.

On this point, Noah considers himself to have taught fairly well. Although Uranos likes power schemes and calculations, his targets are primarily the noble forces with malicious intentions behind the scenes.

Regarding the nobility and knights who are devotedly loyal to him, Uranos is generous, and he continues the longstanding tradition of the Augustus family after its rise for the lower-class citizens.

Therefore, his rule is extremely stable, and the populace often humorously teases this second-generation king, hoping that this monarch can reign longer than his father.

Uranos doesn’t care about lower-class citizens’ thoughts, as he prefers to exploit internal forces that are not very obedient to him.

When it comes to gaining benefits from outside the kingdom and plundering resources, he leads by example and won’t let anyone, even his eldest son Alexander, compete with him.

"What have you encountered? Why that expression? Have the undead impeached you again? Which undead, report its name to me, and I assure it disappears within a month."

Seeing his good grandnephew in the Great Graveyard, Noah couldn’t hide the smile on his face.

He didn’t send a single troop to the Northern Battlefield, staying in his territory without moving an inch, but since Wayne squeezed into the core decision-making circle of the undead side, and more so with his big nephew repeatedly consulting him on marching strategies, his Golden Tree received significant feedback.

It’s no exaggeration to say that two-thirds of the battles on the Northern Battlefield are related to him. This unknowable Holy Dragon is coiled over the northern ice field and the skies of Central Earth, manipulating the life and death of billions of creatures.

Of course, this is an exaggerated boast to elevate his status. In reality, Noah only indirectly influenced such a number of creatures, as summarized from feedback from the Golden Tree.

Happening in the north, most battles between living beings and the undead allowed Noah to gain a small amount of feedback, even though there was a causal gap and layers of weakening, small things added up to significant yields for Noah.

Not to mention other things, Noah’s Golden Tree produced no less than seventeen complete Blood Source Fruits, mainly because one of the parties involved was undead. Otherwise, it would be even more, possibly tenfold.

Of course, the nutrients for these Blood Origin Fruits weren’t provided by the undead, who had no trace of blood energy; they mainly came from the northern indigenous barbarians, a merit attributed to Uranos.

After this King Atlas led his army out of the kingdom heading northwards, his war strategy was to sweep through, incorporating everything that could move, whether undead or alive, into his attack scope.

Living beings received slightly better treatment, with most females and young ones thrown to the accompanying merchants to be transported back to the country and sold as slaves.

Noah’s primary gain remained the Sky and Natural Fruits acquired after exterminating the undead, with five luscious green ones and two azure ones.

This filled Noah with anticipation for the deep sleep of his youth period. For him now, evolutionary resources are no longer the focus; that’s not something he should consider. What he really needs to think about is the direction forward.

This is the most important issue. Although there are quite a number of Ancestor Dragons, each one is unique, and the paths they choose are not the same, so Noah can’t just imitate blindly.

Noah doesn’t know what’s good or bad, so he needs more real cases to refer to, but the current reality is that finding even a second Ancestor Dragon is extremely difficult, let alone finding references.

Yet, the Golden Tree has solved this difficulty for him. Whether Natural Fruit or Sky Fruit, while granting him certain special powers, also allows him to glimpse the mighty creatures that once roamed this land in the most ancient times.

"Another third Undead City has been captured, although quickly retaken, those skeletons and mummies felt the crisis, and they are considering awakening the Immortal King through a sacrificial ceremony."

Seeing the rather cheerful Noah, Wayne reported coldly on a piece of news that sounded very ominous.

"Awakening the Immortal King? No way, would they give up their power? And is that large skeleton that easy to awaken?"

Noah was confused. Even though Wayne, this snitch, constantly leaked information externally, causing the Undead Kingdom to suffer continuous defeats when facing the counterattack of Atlas Kingdom, the undead always managed to regain ground from the elves, and then some.

Thus, the Undead Kingdom held a considerable share of dignity, which didn’t seem necessary to awaken the Immortal King.

If the Great Graveyard had a unified voice, it would mean that these legendary undead would see a significant reduction in power.

They would fall from being high and mighty rulers to obedient subjects, as the rule of superior undead over inferior undead is absolute.

Noah didn’t believe the undead were willing to give up their power. Despite losing many worldly desires of flesh and blood creatures, the emptiness of their souls makes them more obsessed and greedy in certain aspects.

"This is just a proposal, quickly dismissed, but it confirms that the undead indeed have a way to shorten the Immortal King’s deep sleep period."

"The cost must be significant."

Noah already knew what exactly that big bone frame was.

A refined Divine Bone indeed!

Even though Blazing Sky Old Deng crippled it with one slash, that was relying on realm to oppress the bone. If it were to awaken and restore its full power under the constraints of Material Realm rules, it could essentially walk sideways.

"Reportedly, it requires a million Wisdom Species souls as a sacrifice."

Wayne frowned; though the legendary undead were unwilling to let the Immortal King awaken now, there’s no guarantee about the future development of events.
