Chapter 362: Chapter 229: Is Your Father Incompetent?
"Why are you looking at me?"
Noah looked at the crimson flame gazing at him, his dragon tail gently swayed, unconsciously taking a step back.
Under normal circumstances, he wouldn’t need to act this way. Though the title "Divine Servant" is prestigious and these beings are even rarer than the Divine themselves, their status is almost equal to that of the Divine in Heaven, possessing great authority. However, as an Ancestor Dragon, Noah need not feel inferior in this regard.
But this isn’t a normal situation. Noah had just been discussing the mysteries of life with the other party’s daughter, and this Great Angel hadn’t even taken time to properly compose himself before dragging Noah along to chase down the Undead that had desecrated an Angel.
Noah could now sense the strong life energy belonging to him emanating from Ophelia, so the Blazing Sky Divine Servant couldn’t possibly be unaware.
Therefore, the Golden Dragon highly suspected that Ophelia did this on purpose, wanting to directly expose their relationship in front of her father.
As for how they reached this point, there was no way to thoroughly investigate, since even Noah wasn’t certain whether he was the one being proactive or if it was the Angel. To say it was a mutual journey wouldn’t be wrong.
Originally, this wouldn’t have mattered. Speaking of bloodline, status, and potential for future development, Ophelia would benefit more. But Noah was no longer the innocent Dragon he once was.
Aside from Ophelia, he had more than one companion, because Silver Dragon Annabelle, compared to him, was just too frail to bear him, so she took the initiative to find him more companions.
Before the Angel, Noah already had three companions. For each companion, Noah acknowledged their status and provided resources and policy support corresponding to their position.
But unlike Noah, Ophelia had no Angel companions of her own. She was solitary and alone until she met the Golden Dragon.
After their relationship developed, Ophelia was even more carefree than Noah’s dragon companions. She didn’t need Noah to acknowledge her companion status, nor did she require any promises from him.
Yet the more she acted this way, the more Noah wanted to do something. Thus, the Angel’s father became the one Noah needed to face.
Truth be told, Noah wasn’t prepared for this, as Angels in Heaven differ greatly from most beings in the Material Realm.
Their main means of reproduction is not the union of two sexes, but through the Reincarnation Pool of Heaven. Though it sounds similar to the Abyss Blood Pool, in reality, it’s vastly different.
The Abyss Blood Pool uses soul fragments to nurture demons, while the Reincarnation Pool of Angels primarily receives the souls of devout believers who have faced many trials and tests in the mortal world. Occasionally, the souls of Saints also enter.
Besides transformation, the Angel Reincarnation Pool itself can also birth lower-tier angels. The essence of these angels resembles elemental or spirit-like beings, but on a higher level.
Because Angels are so unique, their choices regarding companions, marriage, and love differ from the worldly Wisdom Species. Many High Rank Angels can remain alone from birth to death in battle, forming no companion relationships, simply because they don’t need to.
No Angel bears the responsibility or obligation to propagate their race’s lineage. Choosing a companion is entirely their own decision, free from any tangible or intangible pressure.
"Lord Solophis!"
Thoughts about Angels flitted across his mind as Noah glanced at the Flame Angel, whose heroic face had become visible, and greeted him politely.
Having been with an Angel for three years, Noah had already thoroughly researched everything about them, including the identity and name of their father.
"Father!"
Ophelia stepped forward to greet her father as well.
However, the Blazing Sky Divine Servant’s avatar, with six wings of flame already formed, neither acknowledged his daughter nor responded to Noah, turning into a beam of light shooting a hundred miles away.
"Is your father always this arrogant?"
Noah, having greeted politely without receiving a response, looked somewhat displeased as he turned to the Angel beside him.
"Of course not, my father is usually very kind and amiable with others."
"So, he specifically has an issue with me?"
Noah initially thought it wouldn’t be fitting to judge a Blazing Sky Divine Servant with the mindset of a mortal, but now it seemed there’s not much difference.
"How could that be?"
Ophelia instinctively refuted, her admiration for her father deeply ingrained in her soul. She wouldn’t tolerate any slights against her father, not even ones that were close to being insults.
"My father has never met you before; why would he have an issue with you?"
"Perhaps because I won over his daughter?"
Noah tilted his head, half-jokingly suggesting the only possible reason.
With the identity of an Ancestral Golden Dragon, even though he hadn’t yet reached maturity or his peak strength, a Blazing Sky Divine Servant shouldn’t have ignored him or behaved so rudely.
"Why wouldn’t it be me who won over an Ancestral Golden Dragon?"
The Angel’s unexpected response left Noah silent.
Who is the hunter, and who is the prey? That indeed is a question worth exploring.
"Judging from your father’s reaction, clearly, he’s on my side."
At this moment, Noah recalled that the Blazing Sky Divine Servant chose biological reproduction to nurture the Angel before him, rather than through transformation.
