Chapter 301: Chapter 198: Old King with Limited Time, The Final Curtain _2
"Alright, given your current state, how long can you last after this battle?"
Noah didn’t deny the correctness of Tidel’s decision. The Snake-man had already extended their claws into their territory and had turned a high noble against them. It was not enough to just cut off their claws.
To truly repel the enemy outside the nation’s gates, of course, meant completely destroying their lair. But could Tidel withstand it?
"That’s why I came looking for you!"
A smile appeared on Tidel’s face,
"I don’t want to die young, so I also plan to follow in my father’s footsteps. After this battle, I intend to peel off my bloodline, so please prepare for it."
"You should have removed your bloodline long ago, Uel is about to break through."
Regarding Tidel’s decision, Noah was very much in agreement, as the root of Tidel’s aging lay in the Titan Bloodline. Once this bloodline was removed, problems like merely the loss of vitality could be easily resolved given his current status.
"Even if he did break through, it’s not enough to inherit my current position."
Tidel was not very satisfied with his genius offspring.
He understood his son’s character well. Once he replaced him and ascended the throne, the entire kingdom would certainly be influenced, turning into a massive war machine, endlessly operating until the machine destroys everything in sight, or it collapses.
Yet, even though he foresaw this scene, it was of no use, for apart from Uranos, he couldn’t find a second suitable successor.
The position of the second Monarch of the Atlas Kingdom must be occupied by a strong ruler capable of holding both power and authority in their hand.
Otherwise, the newly established kingdom would inevitably disintegrate, so even if the kingdom was to turn into a war behemoth led by a Tyrant, it was more suitable than a mediocre and incompetent ruler.
What Tidel deemed inappropriate was Uranos’s current strength not being sufficient to bear the name of a King. The throne was not only a position of power but also held equal obligations.
"Legendary is already sufficient, do not be too harsh. Besides, with the support of your mother and me, and Edith is also about to break through, a Nine Swords Master ascending to Legendary status, her deterrence is something you understand better than I do."
The Nine Swords Master is a close combat Mage adept at fighting. Although such a description is insufficient to encapsulate the profession, to someone less acquainted, it serves as the best explanation.
Hence, a Legendary Nine Swords Master’s status is basically equal to a Legendary Spellcaster. From a ruler’s perspective, the deterrence might be even stronger, as the Nine Swords Master specializes in combat, and everything, from skills to spells, is to enhance fighting and destructive prowess.
"I know, it is precisely because of your presence that I can make such a capricious decision."
"That’s not capricious at all. As a Monarch, you are even better than I expected, more determined, and more overbearing."
"Hahaha, are you criticizing me? But I take it as a compliment. Noah, go on, prepare the array for extracting the bloodline for me, I’ll need it shortly."
"You plan to go alone?"
"No, I will also gather all the Legendary warriors within the kingdom."
"Can’t I go?"
"You need to prepare the array for me!"
Repeated Tidel.
"What exactly do you plan to do?"
Noah couldn’t miss anything wrong.
"To do what a king and family head should, and eliminate all threats."
Tidel’s deep voice echoed in the profound halls, by now, he no longer showed any signs of weakness or aging due to the impending depletion of vitality, his aura was gradually climbing.
When he summoned Noah, everything had already been arranged, and the list to set out did not have Noah’s name.
"I have to go with you, I feel like you are about to do something foolish."
"If you really want me to come back alive, wait for me in Elisium City. Don’t you know how much the Mother of Serpents covets you?
If you go with me, that Evil God will definitely descend in avatar form, not the blood sacrifice avatar you dealt with last time. With Legend as her vessel, even I would have a headache."
An irrefutable reason, Noah had no retort, after all, a substantial reason why the Atlas Kingdom was targeted by the Snake-men was associated with him.
The Mother of Serpents coveted his bloodline a great deal, connected to the authority she wielded, being the source of bloodline for countless serpentine extraordinary beings.
If Noah were willing to cooperate with her, creating a new serpent species, under the Blessing of the Ancestor Dragon Bloodline, her authority would be significantly enhanced.
"You have a point."
Noah had to admit this.
Thus, the Golden Dragon watched as the first king of the Atlas Kingdom led the kingdom’s half Legendary against the border and went to war with the Snake-man Kingdom.
This war attracted the attention of almost every force on the Xilantia Continent, for since the end of the Hell catastrophe and the collapse of the Abyss Gate, no more than ten Legendaries had participated in the same battlefield.
The scale of this war barely rivaled that of the Hell catastrophe, but it was relatively short-lived. The expeditionary force led by the King of Atlas was composed of Legends and Extreme Intent, totaling no more than a hundred people.
In just three days, Tidel led numerous Legendaries to push the battlefront into the stronghold of Sai’en Snake-man Kingdom, where a skirmish erupted instantly.
The battle lasted eight days and nine nights, with no Legends from the Sai’en Snake-man Kingdom able to match the King of Atlas inherited with Titan Bloodline.
Thus, the war unsurprisingly ended with the downfall of Sai’en Snake-man Kingdom, a nation less than five years in existence, becoming history, though whether it remained in history was another question.
There remained a vast number of surviving Snake-men operating throughout the Xilantia Continent. Yet, against the Atlas Kingdom capable of easily annihilating a nation, these Snake-men posed no real threat.
Because of this battle, six Legends fell, and two fled. Even with such brilliant results, the Atlas Kingdom also paid a considerable price, with three Legends falling, and the other participating Legends suffering injuries to varying degrees.
Only the King of Atlas appeared unscathed, but only the Golden Dragon close to him knew what dire price the King had paid for this victory.
"You!"
Upon seeing Tidel return to Elisium City, fulfilling his promise, Noah was infuriated.
He was angry for a very simple reason, the man before him was now a rickety, sparse-haired, shriveled elder, resembling the Undead with death all over him.
"How could the bloodline be extracted now?"
"Can’t it be extracted?"
"You’re down to your last breath, asking if it can be extracted! A slight move and you’ll be rejoining the Nether River!"
Noah couldn’t understand at all,
"You didn’t need to do this much, the situation wasn’t bad enough to warrant sacrificing your life."
"No, the situation is worse than you imagined, the infiltration by the Snake-men is more serious than you see."
Tidel chuckled helplessly,
"Did you hear in the reports about the three Legends of our kingdom who fell? It was my hand that dealt with them."
"What? You brought a bunch of rebels to wipe out an enemy country? How much have you been hiding from me?"
Noah was shocked, but even more enraged that such news hadn’t reached his ears.
"No more, that’s it. I’ve cleared out all threats."
