Golden Dragon: Six Thousand Years of Empire -
Chapter 298 - 197: A Song of Ice and Fire
Chapter 298: Chapter 197: A Song of Ice and Fire
The dense white mist enveloped the city. Looking up, all that could be seen was a vast expanse of white. Originally not appearing particularly distinctive, the Silver Dragon Territory now seemed to float above the horizon, suspended amidst a sea of clouds, adding an air of ethereal mystery.
"When can this fog finally clear up?"
On the towering city wall, an Alan Kola eagle-man asked his companion helplessly,
"It’s already been three days, and now I’m too afraid to fly."
Although the gravitational pull of the earth provides a sense of direction, merely discerning between sky and ground is not enough; a broad field of vision is equally critical.
Otherwise, crashing into something would be disastrous, not to mention that at high speeds, the effect of gravity gradually disappears. In such a scenario, losing one’s sense of direction and mistaking the ground for the sky would be suicidal.
"I also want to know when the fog will disappear. Why don’t you go and ask the Lord?"
Upon hearing the Alan Kola eagle-man’s complaint, the Doghead Divine Servant, similarly troubled by the fog, glanced at him.
Who doesn’t know the source of this fog? It emanated from the highest building of the territory, the Observatory.
Three days ago, when the Holy Dragon entered, the Great Lord followed closely behind. Until now, these two noble Dragons have not emerged.
What transpired within, any creature with a hint of knowledge about the Dragon Clan could guess: the Holy Dragon is a Fire Element Golden Dragon, and the Silver Dragon is also known as the Ice Dragon. The clash of ice and fire naturally produces mist.
It’s common knowledge!
"Forget it, I’d like to live a few more days. At worst, I’ll just endure a bit longer. It’s been three days already. No matter how powerful the Dragon Clan is, it should be over soon."
The Alan Kola eagle-man completely ignored the malevolent persuasion of his unscrupulous companion.
Even the most good-tempered being would undoubtedly become enraged if disturbed in such circumstances, let alone a Dragon.
"Great Lord Noah, shall we take a break? The program I’ve prepared for you is about to begin."
Inside the Observatory, a voice imbued with a seductive yet slightly hoarse tone, showing signs of fatigue, echoed,
"You can enjoy watching these little ones you’ve selected perform in the labyrinth."
"There’s nothing worth watching, I’ve watched them grow up. Besides, haven’t you already arranged everything? As long as they don’t die, it’s fine. Let’s continue."
Noah, savoring the aftertaste, could clearly see the exhaustion of the Silver Dragon and her faltering actions.
But Noah would not spare her because of this. Compassion did not exist at this moment; this war was instigated by the Silver Dragon herself.
After painstakingly instigating the war, did she intend to end it simply when she couldn’t endure? What a joke, when has the world ever afforded such fortune?
The initiative in war never lies with the weak but with the strong. Undoubtedly, Noah was the strong one now.
Even though the Silver Dragon was well-prepared, even when he responded and accepted the challenge, she actively demonstrated as many as sixty-nine transformation forms, she still couldn’t extinguish the flame she ignited herself.
All skills are futile in the face of absolute power. Noah crushed everything, simultaneously becoming more enthusiastic, hoping the Silver Dragon could show him more.
"Great Lord Noah, I need a break."
Seeing Noah was not prepared to let her go, the Silver Dragon had no choice but to lower her head in resignation.
"A break? Do you think I will allow it?"
"Can you switch to another form then?"
Seeing the Golden Dragon’s reaction, the Silver Dragon knew she couldn’t escape, reluctantly hoping Noah might relent a bit.
"Switch to another form? Sure."
Noah agreed. In fact, from the beginning, the Golden Dragon hadn’t maintained his true form but had reduced his size; otherwise, the nearly sixty-meter Ancient Dragon body was too overwhelming for the Silver Dragon.
This was a weight even the Dragon Clan couldn’t bear; the size difference in true form was simply too vast.
"Though I’m a Dragon, I’m still an Adult Dragon. Your Highness Noah, please be merciful."
"I’m also an Adult Dragon, and even younger than you!"
Noah replied confidently. Moments later, the low hum and gentle singing of a beautiful dragon song, like a wonderful symphony, echoed through the Observatory.
And so, three more days passed. The song, resonating for three days, finally quieted, and a somewhat dry and hoarse female voice sounded,
"Noah, I’m so foolish. I initially tried to change your will, to become your companion, to monopolize your affection. Now it seems my thoughts were truly foolish."
"Foolish? Then what are your thoughts now?"
Noah, rejuvenated, asked curiously, his scale fully relaxed.
"What do you think of my sister Agnes? She’s a Golden Dragon like you. I think, compared to me, she is more suited to be your companion."
"And what about you? Do you think you’re not suitable?"
Noah gently nudged the Silver Dragon, collapsed beneath him like a puddle of mud, her tail seemingly lacking bone support,
More interestingly, this Silver Dragon, previously constantly emanating coldness and capable of turning her surroundings into an icy domain, was now releasing warmth throughout her body, her icy jade-like scales appearing to transform into warm jade.
This was one of his accomplishments over the six days; every part of the Silver Dragon’s body was imbued with his presence, her internal essence filled with the original power sourced from him. At first glance, even her blood lineage and pedigree seemed to have been altered by him.
