Chapter 116: Chapter 106: Building Collapse? The End of Glory?
"Lord Noah, it has been a long time since we last met. Bar misses your majestic presence immensely, and today he finally feels your unparalleled charm and wisdom once again..."
Bar, still the same big-headed dragon kid, showed the same flattering, servile attitude upon the Golden Dragon’s summons, just as he did in the past, perhaps even more so.
"Enough!"
Being flattered by a Red Dragon was indeed a pleasant experience for any dragon, but where Bar learned this from was unknown, and Noah truly couldn’t listen any longer, raising a dragon claw to interrupt.
"Do you remember how long you’ve been living on my territory?"
"I remember. The Dragon Breath Fruit above my nest ripens once a year and has rotted three times, so it’s been about three years."
Bar answered seriously.
"Hmm, not bad. In less than two years, you’ll be able to sleep and transform into a young dragon."
"All of this is due to Lord Noah’s grace. Without your protection, I would be out in the wilderness by now, gnawing on dirt, eating moss, competing with herbivores for food, possibly nothing more than a pile of bones."
The Red Dragon hatchling appeared deeply grateful, moved to tears.
"But now, I can live in a safe and warm nest with endless bones and meat to eat every day, not needing to worry about food like my poor kin."
"Is that so?"
Noah looked at the seemingly particularly grateful hatchling before him, a hint of a smile appearing, yet his slightly brighter dragon eyes were cold.
Because this little dragon indeed babbled nonsense, the so-called endless bones and meat every day were merely the leftovers from the Cloud Giant’s meals.
This hatchling and his sister relied on those to fill their bellies daily, the so-called warm and comfortable dragon nest had become a garbage dumping ground for the Cloud Giants.
Although these food scraps were indeed a rare delicacy for the young of the Colorful Dragon Clan, better than the rocks, dirt, moss, and mushrooms they themselves could gnaw, it was a tremendous insult to the Dragon Clan.
Noah knew all this, but it wasn’t under his orders. It was the Giants’ doing. They didn’t like having Colorful Dragons active around their habitat, but due to Noah’s influence, they couldn’t just put them down, so they expressed themselves in their own way.
Noah did not stop it, after all, bestowing favor on the Colorful Dragon Species, one couldn’t expect these innately fierce and bloodthirsty creatures to be grateful, could they?
They only succumb to absolute violence, powers that can crush them at any moment.
"Since that is the case, I now need you to repay this. Are you willing?"
"Willing, please command me, Lord Noah!"
The hatchling prostrated on the ground, responding with a strong and powerful tone.
"You are a very clever dragon, why don’t you guess what I need you to do?"
Noah’s gaze roamed over the Red Dragon, then asked.
"Well..."
Bar raised his head cautiously, first carefully observing—a presence lying on the rocks, markedly more dynamic and aggressive than the noble and lazy Golden Dragon in his memory. His gaze then cautiously moved downwards, seeing a human child holding a steel spear staring at him with bright eyes, somewhat eager to try.
"Lord Noah, could it be that you want me to accompany this young master?"
"That’s correct. I want not only for you to accompany him but also to fight him, to release the true nature of being a Red Dragon on him."
Noah signaled for Uranos to step forward,
"You no longer need to suppress the ferocity and brutality in your bloodline, you can unleash it fully."
"Lord Noah! How could I dare to fight this noble young master?"
Bar’s tone was filled with panic and confusion, appearing extremely uneasy, with a sense of being wronged.
"If you don’t fight me, I’ll kill you right now!"
Uranos, seeing the timid Red Dragon, couldn’t help but show a hint of disappointment, the spear tailored for him trembled slightly, and arcs of bluish-white lightning danced across the spearhead.
Several days ago, he had been particularly excited upon hearing from Uncle Noah that a purebred Red Dragon would be found for him as a sparring partner. He had been eagerly anticipating it, yet seeing the display from this bright red-scaled Red Dragon left him utterly disappointed.
"Did you hear that, Bar? If you can’t show your worth, you will be killed!"
Noah said casually.
"Then please permit me to be offensive."
The hatchling slowly raised its head, almost buried in the dirt, with the dark red vertical pupils finally showing the suppressed brutality.
"Come at me then!"
Uranos advanced with his spear.
"You may maim your opponent, but killing is forbidden, understood?"
Noah warned.
"Bar remembers!"
"I will avoid his heart."
In the next instant, man and dragon lunged at each other. Although it was a battleground for young creatures, the intensity of the battle and the savagery of the fight were enough to stun even the adults.
"Noah, is this how my father decided to have you train Ul?"
When Tidel rode the male Fire Dragon from afar to visit his son, the scene he saw was one of flesh and blood flying in a real combat setting. The bloody and violent scene left him shocked, stunned, and then angry.
"Not really, Uncle let me decide all of Ul’s training myself."
Noah looked at the youth, whose face was full of distress, and admitted openly.
