God's Slave: Reincarnated Into an Academy of Heavenly Descendants -
Chapter 80 - 80: A Mission With The Godly Ten!?
The sound of the elevator opening echoed through the room, and what Nolan saw was not what he expected at all.
On entrance, he immediately felt the gaze of 11 people on him, followed by:
"Wait, is that a…"
"MUHAHAHAHA!!"
The laughter was incredibly deafening and came from about five of the people before him, who all laughed out loud in mockery at Nolan.
His face turned red, but he scoffed before sheathing his dagger.
Before him was an extra-large white hall, with a total of 11 seats, all occupied except for one in the middle, which was empty.
In front of the seats was a dais where a man could be seen sitting before a raised altar.
It was like a small class of students where a lesson was currently going on, and they had mocked Nolan when they saw the dagger in his hand and his clear body language that screamed of a person ready to fight for his life.
It was like Nolan was coming into a lion's den instead of a class, and the laughter made the situation incredibly embarrassing for him.
But Nolan didn't regret it.
What if a danger had jumped on his face immediately after he entered? Then he would have been sorry for not bringing out his dagger earlier.
He loved his life too much to risk that.
"It seems like our new guy values his life very much..." The loud and cocky voice was something Nolan had heard before.
Turning his head, he saw that it belonged to none other than Adrian! The tenth of the Godly Ten that Nolan had knocked out cold in the Kratos training room.
With disbelief, his gaze began scanning the remaining room, and his jaw almost dropped when he saw another figure he was familiar with.
It was none other than the green-haired girl with green eyes that Nolan had run into when he went into the cafeteria—the girl who had warned him that people were watching him.
She was currently looking at Nolan with the same smirk on her face.
Slowly, Nolan brought out his finger, before he started counting one by one.
"1…2…3…4…5…6…7…8…9, and 10!"
"You… You all are the Godly Ten!!!" Nolan said in disbelief.
He didn't even have to have met them before. Just from their aura alone, Nolan could tell it was the famous yet strange Godly Ten!
The Godly Ten gathered in a single room, and he was called in? Just what was going on?
"Welcome, Nolan Gottschald. I hope you're not offended by the suddenness of the call."
A voice resounded from the altar, and Nolan turned his gaze to the dais.
The person was an ordinary-looking middle-aged man with strange curly golden hair and golden eyes, like those of a hawk, staring at Nolan.
On his face was a polite smile that Nolan didn't find repulsive, at first sight.
"Not a problem, sir," He replied respectfully, as he could already guess the man's identity in his head.
He was most likely the so-called Sir Astraorth.
The man was someone that even the formidable Tiamat turned serious upon mentioning, so Nolan knew the man deserved his absolute respect.
"That's good to hear. Take your seat. We've been waiting for you for quite a while now," he invited as Nolan walked forward to the last chair in the room under the intense gaze of the Godly Ten, and sat down calmly.
"Now, I want you all to focus as I give you your mission report!" Sir Astaroth called out seriously to them, and Nolan's head buzzed.
'I will be going on a mission together with the Godly Ten?!'
[Tch, what's so special about that? Just a group of kids with no idea of true power!] The system said mockingly, not sharing Nolan's surprise at all.
"Your mission will require a total of 11 people to complete, and it seems we now have the final person. Thanks to little Adrian here..." The man called out as Nolan turned his gaze to Adrian, who also happened to flash him another cocky grin.
'Oh, I was recommended by Adrian? Now it makes more sense…' Nolan mused.
It seemed that the mission required 11 people, and since there were only ten, they needed one more person to complete it.
In the end, Adrian had suggested they pick someone called Nolan, and he firmly believed he would be able to handle the mission with them.
That was why Nolan was here at all. He was here on recommendation.
But isn't it weird that they needed a person to join the Godly Ten and they chose the weakest trash in the academy?
How would the remaining Godly Ten, who weren't aware of his new power, feel about it?
Were they okay with the suggestion, or did they just not care?
The second thought came to Nolan after he secretly scanned his gaze through the remaining nine people and found that their expressions were simply blank.
It was impossible to know what they thought of him, and he could only guess that maybe they just couldn't be bothered to care at all.
"And it will take place in the Fifth Realm. The Mortal World of Atlantis!" The man proclaimed, and Nolan's body went rigid.
"Did… did I just hear the word 'Atlantis'?!" he mused, more than shocked, and in his shock, he asked the question aloud!
Thankfully, not many people had their eyes on him, as they were focused on the man instead.
"The people of Atlantis, according to the Celestial Code, are better left for dead due to the errors of their past ways. Isn't that right?" A voice sounded, ringing through the hall from one of the Godly Ten.
"They ventured into the secrets of Celestials, too far beyond, and failed to listen to us, the Celestial Heirs, eventually sinking themselves into their doom."
"Their matters is something we Celestial Heirs shouldn't be bothered with at all."
"So why are we going there to save them from anything at all? That goes against the Celestial Codes, doesn't it?"
