GOD OF ALL SYSTEMS -
Chapter 41 - 41: An Impending Doom 1
Infinite Realm
Athena hovered mid-air as she browsed through her infinite skills and powers, her hair acting on its own as it covered her special parts. She would often create a universe, watch the lifeforms grow and create their civilizations, and then start wars that ultimately caused their civilizations to crumble. And all this happened in an instant for Athena.
"Creation, Existence, and Destruction. The cycle of life and existence, how insignificant they seem now that I'm omnipotent. I used to be involved with humans and creations so much that I even aided a mortal in becoming a god and wiping out the Olympian gods."
Athena said as she spectated the rise and fall of civilizations within her created universe countless times. She then switched her view to the infinite Realm, seeing the never-ending Omniverse containing unlimited other omniverses and even verses she had never heard of or seen.
"Trick, how would you classify your infinite realm?" Athena asked as a bird materialized from energy and rested on her palms, she then began playing with it as she drifted towards Patrick, who hovered with hands supporting his head as he gazed at Athena and her nakedness.
"Infinite Realm is just its given name, and because it encompasses everything and is never-ending. But it is the Final Void, which is incomprehensible if delved into." Patrick said. He then stood straight as his infinity clothes set materialized on him, "I made an infinity dress for you, you will like it," Patrick said to Athena.
Athena brought out the infinity dress from her inventory with a thought, the dress hovered before Athena as she read the specs.
"A dress with infinite functions and capabilities, how extravagant of you, always going for the overkill. Other than you, who is even qualified to exist without my knowledge? Why would I need a dress made from the concept of infinity?" Athena asked as she equipped the dress, which illuminated her omni beauty at an even grander scale.
"You are the wife of Patrick Alexander King; nothing less than infinity is worthy of you," Patrick said. Athena smiled, causing reality to shatter from her smile alone; in that exact instant when Patrick finished speaking, Athena also noticed her system stats changing.
[Wishes: ∞^∞]
[Systems: ∞^∞]
Athena smiled as she shook her head sighing, "You are still the same, even after transcending the concept of godhood."
"I would be watching the race, you are coming?" Patrick asked as the background transformed into the Monaco penthouse.
"As omnipotent and True Omnipotent beings, wouldn't watching some mortals going around in circles in some toys be tedious?" Athena asked as she drifted closer to Patrick.
But Patrick chuckled and said as he walked by to balcony to watch the race, "I could make them race through the galaxy and make it a death race if I want. But if you think being omnipotent makes things boring, wait until you unseal your omniscience."
....
Patrick and Athena then sat at the top of the penthouse as they watched the race, seeing the thousands of spectators and fans cheering for their respective drivers. The cheering became louder as the cars zoomed past every gathered crowd.
A group of service personnel brought food and snacks for Patrick and Athena. The ladies who brought the food often blushed as they stared at Patrick while serving. The men were no exception, they would obsessively stare at Athena, instantly and passively falling in love and even internally devote their lives to her happiness.
Despite the obvious gazes from both men and women, Patrick and Athena remained ignorant, not even sparing the group a glance, let alone notice them.
....
At a gated and disclosed location, a group of two thousand eight hundred people gathered as they seemed to be waiting for something. They were armed with different magical equipment and weapons mostly found in Gates.
At the gate, there was a signboard saying, "property of the Watson family."
Standing not far from the group was a female in silver armor, she stood with a serious countenance as she observed the others and then the massive, red-colored Gate portal in the distance.
Another female warrior suddenly walked up to the silver-armored awakened. The female then stood beside the woman as she also stared at the Gate.
"I think it's strange that a C-rank Gate suddenly became an A-rank Gate. Captain Sahil was one of the best Awakened warriors in our midst and yet was unable to survive the massacre. This makes me wonder what type of monster we will be facing today."
The young female, seeming to be in her mid-twenties, spoke as she subconsciously gripped her magical staff. She was a support-type awakened.
Seeing the frightened expression of the young female, the woman, appearing in her early thirties placed a hand on her left shoulder as she spoke reassuring words.
"Whatever Mohamed Sahil and his team faced back then; they were unprepared for. But we are ten times more prepared this time. Hey~ there's nothing to be afraid of, Sir Watson and his son are even joining us today. So, you can relax and aid us from the rear with your healing, ok?"
The woman said, her words easing the girl's tensed emotions, she then slowly relaxed and assumed a vibrant expression as she smiled and replied to the woman.
"Thank you, Captain Smith, you are a great captain." The young woman said as she left with an elevated mood and joined the others chattering in the distance.
As the young woman left, Captain Smith slowly lost her smile, assuming a subtle worrisome expression as if feeling guilt for lying to the young girl and making her hopeful.
In that same minute, a group of cars arrived at the Gate site. The crowd reacted immediately as they arranged themselves in rows of formation.
The female captain hurriedly walked up to the cars as she greeted Julius Watson stepping from the vehicle. "Sir!" She spoke.
Julius wore black luxurious magical armor with black boots. He had a kingly demeanor, as his aura dominated everyone at the scene.
"Is everyone ready, Captain Smith?" Julius spoke as he directly stared at the red-colored Gate in the distance.
"Yes Sir, but as you have noticed, the Gate isn't an A-rank, it has mostly likely advanced to an AA-rank or even an AAA-rank Gate at this point." The female captain spoke with a lowered tone as if not wanting the others to know of the reality.
"Hmm, it's a good thing we brought our entire force then, this is our most resourceful Gate, if we lose control of it to the W.A.O., we might as well declare bankruptcy and disband our force. Which ultimately means the total death of my family." Julius spoke with a serious expression.
"God forbid that, Sir. The Watson family has many more centuries to live, Lady Athena has displayed great potential, and her future achievements will surely bring light and glory to the Watson family." The female captain said, denying Julius' thoughts.
"I hope so. Let's get this over with." Julius said as he began walking towards the crowd.
Joseph Watson, Athena's supposedly father, walked behind his father, the female captain also sending him a greeting.
Arrived before his awakened warriors, Julius Watson slowly levitated in the air as he spoke.
"I'm sure you all are already aware of the predicament Captain Sahil and his crew faced a few days ago. And there is no better way of expressing our gratitude and respect than acknowledging his sacrifice for us and the family!
But today is not the day to mourn. Today, we must rectify and avenge the death of our brothers and sisters. My dear comrades, I know it has been a while since I joined you in Gate raiding, but today, I stand before you, as the leader who will be the first to enter and the last to leave!
Trust me with your life this one time and clear this Gate, and I shall guarantee you a future of prosperity and glory. We all have our "whys," but most of all, we are a family. So, my brothers and sisters, join me as we face this challenge together!
For Family!!"
"For family!"
The crowd shouted in unison as they followed Julius into the Gate. His body exploded with thick verdant mana as his figure vanished into the Gate.
....
Not long after Julius and his crew left for the Gate, another black luxurious vehicle dropped by the scene. A man emerges from the scene as he walks up to the Gate. The few bodyguards left to protect the Gate recognized the young man as they relayed their greetings.
"Good evening, young master Michael." The guards said in unison.
"Hmm. How long have they been gone?" Michael asked as he observed the Gate.
"It has been half an hour, young sir." A male guard said respectfully.
"Hmm, thank you for your service, I will take it from here," Michael said, but before the guard could respond to his gratitude, "you're welcome-," Michael back-slapped the D-rank guard as he blasted his head off.
Blood splattered and sprayed all over the scene, also spraying on Michael and drowning him in blood.
With widened and shocked eyes, the other four guards disbelievingly stared at Michael. But recollecting themselves, they immediately reacted as they equipped a challenging stance.
"What do you think you are doing, Michael, betraying your own family?!" A guard spoke while equipped with a sword and a shield.
"Oh~ I see you've lost your manners now, from "young master" to directly calling me by my full name," Michael said as he expressionlessly stared at the guard. He continued.
"And what exactly do you think you're doing setting up that defensive formation? You guys out of all people should know that a million ants are still crushable under a foot, what makes your situation any different?"
Hearing Micheal's demoralizing and condescending words, the guards had sweats rolling down their faces, they knew Michael was speaking the truth. Their efforts would be as useful as throwing an egg on a stone rock.
But even then, the guards maintained their stance against him.
"Very well then, you can die now." As Michael finished speaking, the guards gripped their weapons tightly, expecting Michael to attack with ferocity.
But suddenly, another male voice spoke behind them, "Hello, mates!" The male voice said, his tone impersonating proper English (British accent) to the men.
The guards heard the voice as they tried to attack immediately, but before they could even turn, a slicing sound resounded throughout the scene as all their heads were sent flying off their shoulders.
The next moment, like the headless and lifeless bodies they were, the bodies fell on the ground disorderly.
"Your family must be incredibly stupid or weak to station mere D-ranks as Gate guards. Especially in a city surrounded by their enemies." The man spoke as he pulled out a handkerchief from his suit pocket and began wiping the blood off his hands.
"Hey, they may be stupid, but I still have their name, so mind how you talk about them before me," Michael said as he stared at the man seriously.
The man also paused and stared at Michael, after a few seconds of intense gazes, both men burst out into laughter.
"Haha!" You almost got me there, Michael." The man said as he held his belly in laughter.
"You did fall for it though," Michael replied as he walked up to the man. He then asked, "With your judgment, what would the rank of the Gate be?"
"I only brought a Gate rank detector for Gates less than S-rank, so we will be able to gauge it quite easily." The man, Michael's manager spoke as he brought out a gun-link detector and pointed it at the portal which constantly brimmed with red energy as if a living creature.
While holding the detector towards the Gate, the manager watched as the gauge line went from 0-5000 in an instant, he at first frowned as he looked at the Gate, then at the gauge.
"What's wrong?" Michael asked as he noticed his manager's baffled expression.
"The detector went from nothing to an AA rank Gate in an instant, and it seems to be increasing," the manager said as he showed the gauge which kept going right, heading for the red spot.
Seconds later, the gauge flickered again and swiveled to the red spot, but instead of just hovering at the spot, the gauge meter continued past the red spot as it began tapping the other edge of the glass.
Seeing this, Michael and the manager exchanged gazes as they stared at the Gate in disbelief.
But then, "Hahaha! Well, isn't the heavens on my side, just when I hoped for the Watson family's doom, God came and delivered it himself." Michael said as he walked up to the Gate while laughing.
But contrary to Michael, the manager remained serious as he said, "Michael, the death of your family should be the least of your worries; if this Gate isn't cleared during this raid, a Gate overload is likely to happen, and the alone Metro City, the entire Kingdom of Dasia will be eradicated.
"Who cares, at least the Watson family gets destroyed. I'm tired of being associated with such a pathetic family anyway." Michael said with a maniacal smirk.
....
Inside the Gate
It had been forty-five minutes since the Watson family crew entered the Gate, unbeknownst to them, the Gate they had evaluated to be AA or AAA rank had now been advanced to an astronomically dangerous level, an S rank.
